  3. Glad you found all of us here, I felt the same way when I first came here. I thought I was the only person in the whole world with this condition. That I was going to wallow in my own self pity for the rest of my life.... boy was I wrong. I dont even think celiac anymore. Its just my way of life now.. it becomes so natural, its like I was never any other...
  4. I just returned from Disney in Oct and was told, that at any resort, whether you are staying there or not, as long as they have an independant bakery in the hotel, they can make you gluten free cakes, cookies and all kinds of goodies. Those resorts that the chef mentioned were The Polynesian, The Grand Floridian and I do believe the Contemporary. The...
  5. The Rainforest in Disney Marketplace is the same as any other non Disney owned restaurant on Disney property, they have to conform to Disney standards to be on their property. Since Disney is all about accomodating alleriges, any restaurant on their property can handle any number of alleriges. I unfortuntaly dont know about Rainforest anywhere else...
  6. I used Chebe mix, any one of them would work.. it is a thick dough, and i just simply rolled the little doggies in it and baked. Even my brother (who basically thinks I have an allergy and would have a sneezing fit if I ate gluten) he liked them!

  8. I have a 2005 focus. I have never had any problems. Gas mileage is great, air conditioner is great, never had any of those problems mentioned before. My particular model was the best one at the time though. You step on the gas... you go!!! car will run basically on fumes (i am not always the best at filling it on time) and even without taking perfect...
  9. I worked for Wegmans for a while before my pregnancy turned not so good. They truly do care about all allergies to foods. Even in their pre made sections.. the chefs are all educated (well are supposed to be, I guess there can always be an exception) they offer quite a bit. In all the new Wegmans are the kitchen sections, holiday sections, even aisles...
  10. I use Jennie O ground turkey and turkey sausage and have never had any problems.
  11. In my house, all is gluten free. My b/f and son eat gluten free at all meals. It doesnt bother them. (well Colin is 19months old) The only real food that I use that is gluten free that my b/f eats is breading on any type of chicken breast ( I use the heals of the bread I bake and food processor them up, add seasoning and voila, bread crumbs) Otherwise...

  16. I have also gained soooo much weight since going gluten free. I, too, have always had a weight problem. Not obese, but I was about 20 pounds over weight. Now I am probably 40 pounds overweight easily. I do also eat the gluten free snacks. I was also told it does have a little bit to do with now my body is absorbing the nutrients. Its not all that, believe...
  17. I finally did it. I went to an Asian market to get my flours and such. OMG. The price difference is unreal. I spent about 27.00 for things I would have paid over 50.00 for in health food stores and supermarkets. The only thing I didnt try to get were the rice noodles. Anyone have a kind they particulary like? There are like 100 brands of the things...

  23. Hi Tiki I am also in central Jersey. No Applebees is not celiac friendly. I dont trust TGI Fridays either. I have eaten there in the past though..
