  1. I understand you cannot get gluten through your skin, but I buy only hair body and face products that are labeled gluten free...ever wash your hair and not get any of that soap water in your ears (drains to the same place), or on your face and over the lips? Scratch your arm that you covered in body lotion and then eat that almond? Touch your hair that...
  2. How were you diagnosed? What blood tests? Biopsy? Results? Why were you even tested? What were your symptoms?
  3. I got badly glutened one time on Amy's gluten free lasagna. Now I can't even look at any Amy's product without turning green. I have only tried a few Saffron Road frozen items, and had no problems. No problem with Udi's, I just don't like the taste. Certified gluten free is safest, so if I am going to get a frozen item like that, then I try for certified...
  4. No D for me, my big symptoms were Restless Legs at night and subtle fluttering in the intestines. I also now realize I had brain fog / thinking issues.
  5. RLS and a little fluttering in the intestines are my big give aways that I have been glutened. I used to have RLS every night before I knew I had Celiac's.
  6. Just checked the fridge and found a can of Ghostfish Kick Step, one of my favs. No sorghum, it uses beet sugar.
  7. I have no problems with Ghostfish gluten-free beer. I don't know if it contains sorghum, you can contact them and ask. Even my gluten eater friends were pleasantly surprised. They are certified gluten-free, dedicated gluten-free facility. They are always announcing distribution to more states. You can also mail order now. If you come to the Seattle area,...
  8. Have you heard about Dr. Jonathan Wright, a very well known naturopathic doctor and he is located in TUKWILA (just south of Seattle) ! He has a local radio show on Saturdays 3pm. I had gone round and round with traditional medicine and got nowhere on my ever increasing issues, severe allergies, unrelenting hives, beri beri, kidney failure (that I was...
  9. Prior to diagnosis, I did not have the so-called typical symptoms, no diarrhea or constipation, but I did get that fluttery feeling. Not so much in the stomach, but definately lower in the abdomen. I had a sonic vaginal test once and they found no female problems, but did note a lot of peristalsis in the intestine (the normal rippling motion of muscles in...
  10. I looked back at my records working with my previous naturopath (the one who diagnosed me with Celiacs and I had all kinds of vitamin deficiencies), and see that I did have a B1 deficiency. My notes say that the B1 greatly improved my energy, no notes about asthma. I'm not sure why I am no longer taking separate B1 or a Multi B supplement, I guess I ran...
  11. I was undiagnosed with Celiacs for decades, as I did not have any intestinal issues. In that time, the sphincter of the stomach was damaged and I now have acid reflux and a healing hiatal hernia. This lets acid and fumes up the esophogus that you can inhale and it gets into your lungs, and can cause asthma. Also, stomach acid goes down as we age, and you...
  12. Are you cooking gluten food in your home at all? It is almost humanly impossible to not cross contaminate with gluten in the kitchen. I recommend that your home is completely gluten free. All pets should be gluten-free also, as they lick you, or their fur, which you touch. Some people do all the stuff with preparing the Celiac's food on wax paper, etc...
  13. I have used all their stuff. They have all the info on the benefits to each on their web site.
  14. Andalou is all I use, I highly recommend. I'm 63 and people think I'm 40. I was picking up a prescription and the pharmacist asked if it was for my mother. I said no, it's for me. She about passed out. Gluten free. I order from their web site. Sign up for their newsletter to get discounts. It seems a little expensive, but you use a lot less than cheaper products...
  15. I have severe asthma and I react really badly to steroids, so far, the albuterol inhaler is my only option. I have been prescribed chloroquinine as a preventative.
  16. Spicely brand https://www.spicely.com/ is certified gluten free. I have used theirs and it's good. This brand is not everywhere, but you can order online. They even have vanilla extract made with sugarcane alcohol, not grain alcohol. I also order from http://mortonbassett.com/. These are marked Gluten Free now (they didn't used to be), but they are...
  17. I don't have any issues with the Procapslabs.com nutrients. I take high doses now of their D3. My D was also low and refused to go up, I was eating eggs and all the other sources, but no help. I added their K2 (K helps D to be absorbed) and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar just before the meal that I am takeing the D3 (you need stomach acid to absorb...
  18. I could not tolerate the steroid sprays as after awhile they made my blood pressure super high. Be careful, they are steroids and you really don't want to be on those long term. I had some acid reflux before I knew I had Celiac's and most of it went away after quitting gluten, but I still have symptoms when I lie down, so working on that with a naturopath...
  19. Yes, to quote an ENT doc I saw before I was diagnosed with Celiac's..."it's a train wreck in there." I ended up getting allergy shots for years. The pin prick test showed I was allergic to everything except the negative saline control one. I was diagnosed with Celiac's in July and my next re-test for the allergies was in January. By January, my allergy...
  20. For me it does. When I get glutened, the best way to describe it is how you feel when you know you are just getting a really bad flu. I don't get the bad intestinal symptoms others describe, but I do feel a fluttery weird feeling in there. Aches and weakness are the majority of my symptoms. For me it is bad a day or 2, then the worst goes away gradually...
  21. Yes, you can get a medical diagnosis without the biopsy. I did, and I got an official letter from that doctor with that diagnosis in case I ever need it (but I have not yet). It takes 3 things: 1. positive on the blood tests 2. positive on DNA test 3. response to the gluten free diet HOWEVER, since you have a doctor that told you...
  22. D3 can help, but absorbtion can be difficult, so take it with K2 MK-7 to help the absorbtion (just 1 K2 a day). That combo really helps me. I also suggest working with a good naturopath or holistic type doctor (functional medicine doc). They have a lot more info than most traditional doctors on the forms of different vitamins that actually work so you...
  23. If it was just male pattern, I do not believe you would see hair loss in other locations. Get screened for Celiac Disease if you have not already done so. Have you asked your doctors if you have alopecia? I have read that people with one auto-immune disease, will on average develop 2 - 3 auto-immune diseases. So it could be alopecia or a vitamin deficiency...
  24. Work with a good naturopath, functional medicine doctor, or doctor very knowledgeable about nutrients. I had some blood sugar issues at first. Berberine and Cinnamon are excellent to help even out blood sugar and avoid going into diabetes or some other disease. But work with someone knowledgeable that can make sure you don't have something else going on...
