  1. Absolutely! It's even worse this time of year when my real hay fever is going nuts. Ugh...
  2. Do you have a microwave and refrigerator at work? If so, leftovers would work very nicely. I also have an awesome recipe for bread/hot dog buns/hamburger buns. They make great lunches along with some french fries or veggie sticks. I also have an insanely good recipe for pizza if you're interested. I love reheated pizza for lunch. Really, any leftover works...

    ARCHIVED Red Lobster

I called them a few months ago and was told by corporate to absolutely NOT eat there that they couldn't prepare anything safely. I don't know if this was just a strong CYA statement or what, but I won't give them my business after that remark.
  4. If you see nothing clearly listing gluten (wheat, barley, rye, or oats) then it is gluten free. Kraft is a trustworthy company. I think we've also had the Oreo flavor, so it's very possible it's gluten free.
  5. Yeah, Amanda, I definitely didn't like Blake's hair color either. He looks SOOOOO much better with the blonde hair. Did anyone else think that Ford commercial last night was weird? I thought it was right up Blake's alley though. Also, LaKisha looked awesome with the red streaks in her hair. Too bad she didn't keep them in after shooting the commercial...
  6. I use my regular flour mix to make a roux and it turns out very nicely. 3 parts white rice, 2 parts potato starch, 1 part tapioca starch.
  7. Yeah, it was Phil. Now it's Blake left with a bunch of females. This coming week should be interesting. Oh, and Bon Jovi did perform last night, but it was one of their new songs. Ugh... We fast forwarded through it.
  8. It definitely varies from person to person. For me, I'm one of the lucky ones, it only takes about 24-48 hours for most symptoms to resolve themselves. I sometimes feel fatigued for up to a week, but it gets progressively better each day generally. My worst symptom is the brain fog. Ugh...
  9. I've never had the other booty snacks, just the pirates booty. However, I have had their tings and they are REALLY good!!!
  10. Yeah, it would be a real shame if Jordin got sent home after one bad performance. She's so talented. I really enjoy her most weeks. I'm also really glad that Blake went back to his roots. He has a nice voice and all, but without that little added something (beat boxing) he just doesn't stand out very much. What was with the dyed hair this week??? He looks...
  11. WOW! What a night! I think Jordin was actually my least favorite tonight. I generally love her, but she was way out of her element tonight. Not a good song choice either. Blake was amazing, very daring. Chris was awesome and I generally can't stand him. I thought that was by far his best performance thus far. I really enjoyed Melinda also. LaKisha kind of...
  12. I use 3 parts white rice flour, 2 parts potato starch, 1 part tapioca starch. Don't forget to add xantham gum if you're using an old glutenous recipe. This flour blend works the best for me. I use it in place of all purpose flour for all of my old recipes. They turn out tasting virtually the same as they did pre-dx. Sometimes I use 1 part brown rice...
  13. Incredible Edible Gluten Free Food for Kids by Shari L. Sanderson has a good muffin recipe with lots of variations (ie: blueberry, chocolate chip, apple, etc). All of the stuff in that cookbook is surprisingly good.
  14. I haven't tried that recipe, but I do have a favorite that gets rave reviews around my house. It's the banana bread recipe in the Incredible Edible Gluten Free Food for Kids cookbook by Shari L. Sanderson.
  15. Glad you like the recipe. The Incredible Edible cookbook is one of the best (IMO). That's where I get a lot of my bread recipes. I'm the same way with hot dog buns. I like minimal bread compared to hot dog ratio. I thought the recipe tasted very similar to real hot dog buns. I was impressed! It's so nice to hear that someone else enjoyed it as well. I...
  16. WAY COOL!!! I think I'll definitely be looking for some of those. My way only makes 8 hot dog buns per batch. I have the feeling that I could get more buns if I did it this way due to the rounded edges. Plus, it would look more like a hot dog bun. What did you think about the flavor/consistency of the bread?
  17. What a gorgeous baby!!!

    ARCHIVED Scared

Your husband's reaction, in part, will likely have a lot to do with your reaction in relation to the dynamics of your relationship. Believe it or not, if you are diagnosed, it's actually a positive thing. The symptoms that you have will likely disappear. In addition to that, this is the best part, you will head off other potential health issues that are a...
  19. They can often accomodate special diets on short notice, HOWEVER it is always best to let them know a week in advance so they can make sure that they have gluten free food for your daughter.
  20. It's not Cheri A that was censored. It's the forum filter that automatically censors that website's name.
  21. Wow! It is so funny that others miss these too. I used to order the sandwich and then I'd make them give me a cup full of tarter sauce for dipping. I didn't eat them often, but when I did I made sure that I got an entire days worth of calories all in one sandwich. Man, were they good!
  22. Congratulations, Aunt Amanda!!!
  23. Modified food starch in the US should be fine. It would have to say wheat on the label if it contained wheat starch.
  24. I was afraid that was going to be the case. Luckily my symptoms don't usually last more than 24-48 hours, so hopefully I'll only have a day or so left of feeling like this. The belly stuff really isn't all that bad this time, but I feel like such a space cadet!!! Hopefully I'll be back to normal in the morning or shortly thereafter. Thanks for the replies...
