  1. I don't know if this will help any of you or not, but it's worth looking into.... When I was diagnosed with Celiac 1 1/2 yrs ago, my GI immediately handed me samples of a probiotic called Flora Q. He started me on 2 caps/day and then after a month reduced me to 1 (usual dose). He said that the "flora & fauna" of the intestinal tract gets unbalanced...

    ARCHIVED Hardee's

You're right, there is no more gluten-free info on the Hardee's website!!! They have a low-carb burger that used to be listed on the gluten free menu. It was served in a lettuce pocket and I used to get it occasionally as a lunch treat. The last 2 or 3 times I ordered it (couple of months apart) I got glutened, so of course I gave it up a few months ago...
  3. I had this very question because of this very detergent! These posts are old, and so the information should be re-checked, but... Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link I've since changed to Cascade dual action tablets and am much more satisfied with the appearance, and since I have no more spots I was able to stop wondering what's...
  4. Tarnalberry, according to Clan Thompson, you are correct on the Tropicana OJ. According to them, all Tropicana 100% Orange Juice IS gluten free. I'll verify with Tropicana. Thank you! Regarding, "not including fruit with resin coatings." If that were the wording we'd be ok. The wording is "fresh fruits and vegetables that are not coated with...
  5. I can see both sides of this discussion, but while it seems silly to label whole eggs as gluten free (since they come pre-packaged by mother nature), I am concerned that other "inherently gluten free" foods don't necessarily remain gluten free through the manufacturing process. Example #1 for concern: 100% fruit juices are considered naturally gluten...
  6. I believe that any of us who questioned Srokie had this exact concern. I know it was/is mine.
  7. Agreed. But everything she said was not true. It is a fact that Charmin and Bounty are not Kimberly-Clark products. I have them. I checked their packaging before posting. So to say it is not true is correct. Kimberly-Clark does not dust Charmin and Bounty with anything. Srokie said she would not post something without knowing for sure it was true...
  8. Guilty. I did read her post too quickly. For that I truly apologize to Srokie and everyone else. No conspiracy theories being entertained here. She's a student at Emory? Right? I do contend then that she's intelligent enough to know that to emphatically declare information that flies in the face of long-accepted "fact," requires a source more...
  9. The discrepancies continue.... In Srokie's first post of the thread: "...I don't know if this topic has been addressed or not yet, since it's not "new research" (and it's not from Dr. Saviano, haha) - I got this information from a celiac at my college, who got it from a celiac newsletter or magazine.. or something..." In post 15 of the same thread...
  10. It is not true. Not all encompassing. Easy enough to check yourself. Hopefully, srokie will begin to do a little research herself before posting every negative ("Celiacs can't have...") rumor that she bumps into. Srokie, as a student at a top 20 university, you surely know the importance of verifying what you hear and read, particularly when the information...
  11. I've ordered some sorghum flour just so I can try this recipe! Yum, I can't wait....this many Celiacs can't be wrong
  12. Thank you, Jessica!

    ARCHIVED The Melting Pot

Is anyone else thinking the Melting Pot is missing somethings here? Barley? Rye? Oats...??? (whatever your stance on oats, according to a lot of research, it is true that about 10% of people with Celiac react to a protein in oats similarly to gluten) Barley or malt is frequently used for flavoring, and the Melting Pots need to know that barley also...
  14. I second the vote for Edy's Slow Churned Light....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  15. Yes, I have noticed in the general population that more people are going gluten free because they "want to" for whatever reason. Like emc, I am very concerned about the possible adverse effect this could have on cc concerns by restaurant staff, etc.
  16. Welcome. This board has been a life-saver for so many (including me). It's a comfortable place for those who truly want to work together to understand celiac and other gluten intolerance.
  17. Welcome back!!! We missed you tremendously.
  18. Yes, it is. (At least the last time I looked into it a few months ago it was). You can also buy that cheese in a small canister (like a parmesan canister only much smaller & more expensive. There was a thread on this several months ago. It's great cheese! Kraft clearly labels the presence of gluten-containing ingredients. On the mac & cheese...
  19. There can most certainly be pain associated with Celiac, but there doesn't have to be. Your symptoms suggest the possibility of Celiac, but could also suggest other conditions. I know that you are tired of being sick and probably tired of drs and tests (especially when all the tests come back negative while the symptoms rage on). The pain in your...
  20. Duplicate this post for me. (see gluten-free directions for zoji in post above)
  21. Are you using Internet Explorer? What version? I can't tell you about version 7 because I'm not using it yet, but for IE 6 and earlier the following steps should solve your problems. 1- From the Internet Explorer menu, select Tools>Internet Options 2- Click on the Advanced tab 3- Place a checkmark for "Disable script debugging" 4- Click "ok" and...
  22. Gluten Free Pantry Quick Mix substitued in the Bisquick recipe: 2 c mix 1 c milk 2 eggs Really, really can't tell the difference.
  23. Hahaha! I didn't have a menu in my hands at the moment, but that's what I was told at lunch one day and then confirmed at dinner a couple of days later. I thought it would be unusual that the vanilla ice cream wasn't gluten-free, but I certainly was going to argue or question? Hmmmm....wonder what the real story is??? Might be worth an e-mail inquiry...
  24. I avoid them. I believed they should be safe, but like Cassidy and others I kept getting sick. I do not get sick when I avoid these foods. I have become almost exclusively fresh fruit, meat, veggies and foods from dedicated gluten-free facilities.
