  1. How about these peanut butter cookies? They're extremely easy to make and really, really good. 1 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky, doesn't matter) 1 cup sugar 2 eggs Mix together. Put in a 350 oven for 10-12 minutes. Delicious!
  2. I've used the Gluten Free Pantry crisp and crumble mix - it's delicious.
  3. Shadybrook Farms turkey italian sausage is also gluten free. That's what we use.
  4. We have the Zojirushi machine and love it. It's extremely easy to use and it takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes to make a loaf of bread. I'd definitely recommend it. Our favorite bread mix, by the way, is Pamela's wheat free amazing bread mix. It's delicious!
  5. Yes, Xopenex is fine. I got the number from my pharmacist and spoke directly with the company.
  6. Hi - re: Children's Hospital celiac support group. All meetings are held at Children's Hospital in Waltham (it used to be Waltham/Weston Hospital). They hold meetings four times a year with a summer party and a holiday party. We've been to one meeting so far and found it to be very helpful. There's a speaker (on April 1, the topic is siblings and how they...
  7. We are away from home and I forgot rice milk. The only brand I can find here is Rice Dream (not gluten free) or Wild Harvest brand (it's Shaw's store brand). The ingredient list looks ok but I'd like to be sure before opening it. Does anyone know? Thanks!
  8. Whole Soy and Company yogurt or yogurt smoothie - that's what my daughter has every single morning.
  9. Hi - Is anyone familiar with any gluten free friendly restaurants in the Stowe, VT area? Thanks!
  10. I just replace the flour in all my old recipes with Gluten Free Pantry Flour Mix, cup for cup, and everything's turned out great. I've had no problems doing this. I also replace the butter and milk for dairy free butter and rice milk and haven't had problems doing that either.
  11. I'm not sure what went wrong. We have a Zojirushi bread machine (and love it) and use the Pamela's bread mix without any problems. The only thing I can think of is that the setting we use takes 3 hours and 20 minutes to make a loaf of bread, which is about an hour longer than the setting you used. Maybe that has something to do with it?
  12. Thank you so much for the info! My daughter loved these and was so disappointed when they were no longer gluten free. She'll be thrilled!
  13. I've had trouble finding it, too. I finally asked about it at one of the stores and they said that they are getting it in but they only get in one case at a time (small stores) which is six bags and they sell out in one day or two. Yesterday, the manager told me that he had just put them out and someone came in and bought all six bags! So, now, I ask them...
  14. I use it cup for cup in all my old recipes that called for regular flour with no problems. I also use it to thicken soups, for breading, etc. I don't know what I'd do without it. FYI - I buy it by the case at Amazon.
  15. Pamela's bread mix is our absolute favorite. It's delicious as is and we've also added cinnamon and raisins to it and it's delicous that way, too. I've never tried to substitute the oil but I'd think that 1/4 cup of oil would equal 1/4 cup of applesauce.
  16. I made them for the first time last night, too! We were having a sweets craving and wanting something a bit different. We were craving brownies, actually, but I didn't have the ingredients so we made the cookies instead. I agree...they're really good!
  17. Powdered sugar is gluten free and mixing it with rice milk works out just fine for a glaze. If you don't want to use the rice milk, you can mix it with water and that works out fine, too.
  18. We thought it was way too spicy too...and my daughter LOVES spicy food and even she couldn't get down more than a few spoonfuls (with lots of sour cream and cheese).
  19. By far, our favorite is the chocolate cake mix from Namaste. It's delicious and, when I made it for my daughter's birthday, everyone (including gluten eaters) totally loved it.
  20. For anyone in the Boston area, it's just starting now (10am)....they just showed the brownies - they look delicious!
  21. We love the brownie mix and use olive oil and it works just fine.
  22. Freeda brand vitamins are dairy/gluten free.
  23. I just wanted to add that my daughter kept getting really sick and we just couldn't find the cause for the longest time. Finally, it occurred to me that it could be her chapstick. She had been using some of the American Girl brand lip glosses from Bath and Body Works. When I called that company, they said they never test any of their products for any allergens...
  24. Thank you so much for posting this recipe. I made them this afternoon - they are absolutely delicious and they're being gobbled up by everyone, gluten free or not. Thanks again!
  25. We have the Zojirushi, too. It's so easy to use - we love it. Our favorite bread mix is Pamela's.
