  1. I have finally found someone else who makes pickle wraps! There are so many gluten free junk foods. Did you get a copy of the delphi gluten free food list? If not someone here or I can send you a copy. Just PM your e-mail address. L.
  2. I suggest the scatter technique too, at least they will only get some of the stash. (Less bulky too.) I would choose your purse carefully, lots of pockets, fake bottom, and other stash spots. If they want to get picky and search pockets, always open the feminine hygeine stash first, blush profusely, and they usually stop there. L.
  3. So we think woman fluids would pass the CODEX standard for gluten free. L.
  4. There are cereals by Bakery on Main, Apple raisin walnut granola, nutty cranberry maple granola, fruit and nut granola, extreme fruit and nut granola, that look promising for a trail mix snack. They use evaporated cane juice and honey for sweeteners. I have not tried these and I did not include any of the varieties with rolled outs or wheat germ, but the...
  5. My daughter was BF and she was having some symptoms before solids were introduced. She had severe constipation when rice cereal was added to her diet. Things pretty much went classic Celiac symptoms as food was introduced. Celiac blood panels are not very accurate for children under 24 months. She only had one slightly elevated blood positive. She was...
  6. You might have better results if you take a liquid form of vitamins. There was a post recently about sublingual B12 being just as effective as the injections (in think it was cases of Perncosios Anemia [spelling is probably wrong]). I agree with the other poster, I wouldn't rule out any chance of false negatives. L.
  7. When you are done testing, whatever the results are, I would would try the gluten free diet. What are you doing for the vitamin defiencies? Some of the symptoms are associated with the defiencies. L.
  8. I had a really ignorant doctor that said it would be just fine to be on the gluten free diet and get the testing done. His theory is... people are not capable of being gluten free and the tests are soo accurate they would catch it. Well my tests were negative, my daughter's blood panel only had one slight elevation, and my son's was negative. We tried...
  9. I suggest you keep a food journal. We have the vinegar / distilled vinegar question on this board at least once a week. Like the previous poster said distilled should be gluten free, but a lot of Celiacs seem to have some reactions from it. If it says malt vinegar you should avoid it. You need time to heal, and to figure out if YOU have any problems with...
  10. If this link doesn't work PM your e-mail address. It mention's Wilson Disease, and seizures, Celiac Disease, and Selective IgA Defiency all in the same article, and came up when I searched for copper defiency. I can't help but think it might be relevant but I'm not very computer savy. www.midf.org/michigan_immunodefiency_foundation_selective_iga_defiency...
  11. The 1 in 22 is the current statistic for #2 odds. A person can have the Celiac gene(s), but there needs to be a "trigger" to activate Celiac disease in the indiviual. As far as I know Enfamil is gluten free - haven't needed to check that in a long time. The current studies say to introduce grains at 6 to 9 months. The evidence states waiting past 6 to...
  12. The is an association between celiac disease and auto-immune thyroid disease. It depends on what type of medication has been taken for the thyroid problem (so I have been told). If there is healing to the gut on the gluten free diet, the dosage might be lowered. (It was in my case.) L.
  13. I just wanted to post to bump this up. You might want to look into Selective IgA Defiency. It can explain why some Celiac screening comes back negative, when it is Celiac Disease. Gluten sensitivity is seemingly harder to diagnose. Gluten Ataxia can cause more neurological disturbances like you describe, and so can a yeast overgrowth. Many people here...
  14. Chelsea are you googling copper defiencies or other disorders yet? I used to skate too in the Detroit area. L.
  15. You might consider having your thyroid levels looked at. There is an association for Celiac and auto-immune thyroid disorders. I would suggest going to an endocronologist though, getting the proper diagnoses could depend on it. I would also look into diabetes and check that you are not having any other symptoms for it. L.
  16. Yes it is possible to be gluten INtolerant and have all tests come back negative. We do not know all the genes involved with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance. L.
  17. All the things you have listed are symptoms for Celiac. If I have been glutened I feel BURNING hunger pains. My daughter was eating more food than I was and she was only 10 months old! L.
  18. At this point too many people are not getting diagnosed because the testing is just not accurate enough to catch every Celiac or gluten intolerant. Hindsight of our family's experience, it just was not worth having my child hospitalized for dehydration trying to maintain a gluten diet for testing. If you don't have a doctor's note for school, just tell...
  19. There is also a condition called hyperkeratosis folliculitus. (spelling could be off) It is caused by the body's inability to digest fat properly. L.
  20. I just wanted to add to the other posts. My son used to vomit phlegm before he went on a gluten free diet. I have heard others say gluten ingestion has caused them to have severe congestion, wheezing and asthma. It sounds like you are looking for a gluten free, casein free, and soy free diet. (You can find links to this diet and autism here at celiac...
  21. Mine and my son's have cleared up. It is also a good way to tell if we have been glutened, because it comes right back if we have accidently eaten gluten. L.
  22. I haven't found any gluten when I have read the labels for snow cones or cotton candy, yet. L.
  23. Yes there is a really good cone. I think the name is Cionne (spelling?)Cone. The company was rumored to have merged with Glutino (or possibly Glutano). The last store I saw them in was Bel Cibo in Clawson, Michigan. Sorry I can't be of more help to you, because I threw out the empty box, at least you know they exist. L.
  24. My daughter has both DQ2 and DQ8, and my test was supposedly negative for the genes. The testing was done by Prometheus Labs. When the results were questioned the response was "every test has a 30% error rate, could still be an undetectable gene, and genes mutate". I tend to think the tests aren't that accurate, because this test was supposed to be 98...
  25. My daughter's ped gastro said there was a link to an auto-immune liver disease. Sorry no other further information on that, but start some research on that. I tried looking into that and the only thing I could find was the auto-immune cirrosis(spelled that completely wrong).
