  1. I do have so more questions about that, but I'm sure I would get in BIG trouble. L.
  2. Happy Birthday Ian!!! I hope you're having a great day. Laura
  3. Another vote for Glutino. L.
  4. Good luck starting the diet!! Are you going casein free too? You should look at some of the articles on the withdrawal affect. The time it takes to notice a difference varies from person to person. Some say they noticed a difference in two days and some articles say two years. L.
  5. You need to PM me then, sounds like something I've got to know! L.
  6. I thought we weren't supposed to mention the Altoids again!!? L.
  7. I think it is totally normal to feel the way you do. A way you can change this is to make this date a something special day. Call your family members, just to say "I love you". Talk about something funny you remember about him or just tell a joke. Do something he loved to do. A trip to a favorite hangout/ park/ store. Make new happy memories. L.
  8. I agree 100% to corinne's advice. L.
  9. I'd leave it out, unless you bake them. L.
  10. There are many people here who have self diagnosed. I went through testing on a gluten free diet because the Gastro said the tests were so so accurate "it would be fine", and after the endo scope said "You're too young to have celiac disease". Doctors seem to feel that Celiac Disease is the latest fad diagnoses, and were taught it was a RARE disease occurring...
  11. 'Cause your special has some (no refridgeration needed) microwave and add hot water Kosher and gluten free meals/entrees. L.
  12. My family went through genetic testing through Prometheus Labs. (Which is HIGHLY respected in the medical community.) Daughter was positive for both DQ2 and DQ8, she was VERY sensitive to gluten, improved on gluten free diet. My test was negative for (only those two specific genes that were screened for), Very sensitive to gluten (same way as my daughter...
  13. I would like to know the age of the son at the time of testing? What labs did the testing? If the child is able to tolerate spelt? Are there any follow up tests scheduled? A one year follow up endo w/ biopsy? I hope Taffy will give updates and I wish Tim and the family the best of health. I think the board can still be informative for wheat free food...
  14. I suggest you look into deep water aerobics. Take the class with a friend. L.
  15. Not just fat, it is supposed to be the GOOD kind. I read about the ER trip. You have got to look into vitamin and mineral defiencies. I'm thinking Potassium levels could be an issue here. Did you start feeling better on the IV? Check all the medications you are taking for interactions (some of those interactions are directly related to causing vitamin...
  16. Go and observe the class. The teachers should be happy with extra help. If even the handsoap has two of her no-nos in it, the whole class room has got to be a cross-contamination nightmare. I switched my kids to a smaller private school. I could not believe the difference - even the janitor cared enough to ask me questions and things he could do to help...
  17. How about some avacados? They are supposed to be very easy on the stomach and are suggested for a baby's first solids. There was a thread on here a while ago how many of us turned into avacado fanatics. L
  18. I used to suffer from migraines too. I would drink a large smart water ( magnesium and calcium added water sold by Glace -recently saw it a Target) Take sublingual vitamin B-12, and try to remember what it feels like not to have a headache. Myabe my home headache remedy can help you through til you figure out what is causing yours. Are you anemic? L...
  19. My son couldn't tolerate carrots. From the first time he tried them he would vomit them. We tried them again after being on the gluten free diet and he can eat them now. How long have you been gluten free? I can't remember which vitamin defiency can lead to an inability to tolerate carrots, but I did find an article a while back about that. Keep a food...
  20. I just wanted to add to the advice.... Keep a food journal to keep track of those "suspicous" food items. It took a year of healing before I could tolerate annatto and distilled vinegar. The book by Danna Korn, Kids with Celiac Disease, will be very helpful for you. It covers alot of issues. A brief outline of testing (my copy doesn't say anything...
  21. My celiac disease diagnosed daughter chips her teeth every time she falls and hits her mouth. She is 3, she hasn't had any cavaties yet. The chips haven't been serious yet. My son who was not officially diagnosed, has had numerous cavaties and enamel problems. He reacts to gluten and is on a gluten free diet. The dentist has applied sealants, and told...
  22. Celiac can be different for everyone. You may become more sensitive. It may seem like paranoia to go through and eliminate gluten from products that aren't intended to go in or near your mouth, but take the advice from from very sensitive people and get rid of lotions and shampoos. Amy's products have some vegatarian meals that ingredients are gluten...
  23. Gluten free, just watch the sizes and shapes. For instance the snickers holiday bell shaped (foil wrapped small size sold in a bag) were not gluten free and I think the bell shape individual packaged about the size of your hand were gluten free. L.
  24. Try the Chebe bread mixes. You could try the Kinnicknik breads, but toast or grill it! If you can find Pamela's baking and pancake mix follow the recipe for chocolate chip cookies or a lot of people like using gluten-free flour replacement and using the original tollhouse recipe. The gluten free pantry has a lot of nice mixes. Glutino has a lot of good...
  25. I got a pam pilot for managing lists too. I don't need it anymore but I keep it on hand for babysitters and doctor's appontments. L.
