  1. I wrote to Novartis today about this topic (their website did not have an email address - only mail address & phone number) and stated that I understand that to them that 1 part of gluten to 1,000,000 parts of the whole is considered gluten free, but to us it's still unacceptable. I told them to visit our message board and view what people...
  2. Guhlia Where in NJ did you find gluten-free beer? I've checked with two large wine/beer/liquor stores in my area and neither carry it nor want to. Most supermarkets in NJ do not sell wine/beer. I only know of one and they will be closing their store soon. I vacationed in NC and I like how Food Lion has beer and wine in their store...it...
  3. We ran into this situation last week and didn't know what to make of it. We used to buy it before this "re-formulation". My understanding is this is how they classify foods as gluten-free in Europe - so many parts gluten per million or something like that. Despite this, we are not purchasing the new Benefiber. Does anyone know of a substitute...
  4. My husband is 100% gluten-free diet and grooming products and still gets itchy, scaly rash under mustache and some flakyness around hairline. The rash used to be even on his breastbone but going gluten-free made that go away. I don't know what else would be causing the rash under the mustache.
  5. Jess sorry to hear about your puppy. take care of yourself during this stressful time (between this and work). Deb

  7. another date? no. As teenaged romances go, it was over before it began. I don't know if he even saw the sock as it was dark...I don't think we had another date after that one.....I occasionally do still speak with him and he never married or held a long-term relationship. He's a loner - artistic type.
  8. Sock Problem when I was 16 I dated this fella I liked alot. I also used to use the dryer to iron my clothes...you know about 5 minutes of tumbling the wrinkles are gone. Well we went ... movies and food and sat in his car after date, just talking. Anyway, all of a sudden during our date I feel something scratching my back....I place my hand...

    ARCHIVED Doctor Research

No,I had to call "Information" for the medical society's phone number. Then called the Union County (I live in Union County) Medical Society and ask them for the background info. Surprisingly they told me about a NJ State run website for my state only which has the Dr. info on it. I guess I could have gone to NJ.gov to find it myself but I never thought...
  10. This brand used to say "GLUTEN FREE" on it's bag/box. I don't recall if they do that any longer as my local grocery store stopped carrying it and I now purchase corn meal and corn flour from Kinnicki nkki .
  11. Yes, Union NJ. I know Edison/Metuchen/Woodbridge area somewhat. I sometimes go to Woodbridge Center or Menlo Park. I am trying to get Whole Foods to put a location in the Clark area as there are none in all of Union and Middlesex counties. Woodbridge/Edison would be too close to Wegman's.

    ARCHIVED Doctor Research

Usually the medical societies in each state have records of this. or your state dept of Dr. licensing has these records which should be public free information. A medical Society is organized by County, so you'd call information as ask for the "_____ County Medical Society's phone number." I called mine and they provided me with a NJ only website...
  13. don't forget to document the date, time and names of individuals involved. You need to put it on paper like a time-line. Include their actions to your desk and describe how it affected you. How your space was violated, your health was attacked and how they used a child in their "prank." They will either lose their jobs or be disciplined (if you...
  14. My opinion is that restaurants do not have to say "this is gluten free" but they can indicate on their menu something which can state "we can't guarantee that cc won't be present, but to the best of our knowlege these selections are best for those on a gluten-free diet" or something like that. There is a halfway point here.
  15. This is an addition to my prior thread several pages ago. The Bob Fosse stage show I didn't like was "A Chorus Line" and it's now coming back on Broadway. also returning to NYC is "The Fantastiks" which I liked much much better. "The Fantastiks" has a small ensemble cast, music (major song: Try to Remember (the kind of September) ). It's serious...

    ARCHIVED Eerrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Agree that you should ask for a copy of your blood test results. Check to see what tests they did. Ask for details about what they are using MRI for. What type of Dr. is this? A gastro or GP?
  17. no glutening problems for hubby...maybe you have sensitivity to another ingredient K uses....
  18. hubby does not eat out - has no confidence that food will be gluten-free even if they say it is. I guess he has trust issues.
  19. Sarah: I didn't see your post until today 8/28/06 My husband has celiac and his GP disagreed with the GI who made the diagnosis, so that GP is obviously out of the running for you. I go to Dr. Michele Morandi on Galloping Hill Road, in Union and she has seen my husband for medical consult on occasions. Right now she's on maternity leave until...
  20. What have you been doing wrong with Celiac in the past 3 years? Or do you have the type of celiac that doesn't feel better being gluten-free?
  21. How many with celiac disease take this for better bowel movement regulation? Does it work? Does it cause any side effects? Are you content with the results of this prescription? Do you recommend it?
  22. Steve One more question....my memory is rather vague on this topic, but if you could please tell me origin of: 1) Saxons 2) Normans 3) Gauls I am mixing these 3 up and want to get it right Also while we are on genetic topic, how then do the Scilians fit in the picture of Italy and Morocco and Libya? Would you say that these 3 groups...
  23. I am in agreement with CarlaB. Even as teen & young woman when at my best physical condition I couldn't hover without falling left or right. And when I had uterine tumors I was having to pee like a pregnant woman all the time and I am lactose intolerant so I am and was in ladies room more than my fair share for a while there. Anyway, during...
  24. Did you self diagnose celiac? Hope you're feeling better after that episode. As to working, you work on Sundays too? Or is the Sunday work not as intensive (just check on the the already made cheeses and clean the machines)?
  25. mamaw, now that you mention it, I haven't received an issue in a long while. Deb
