  1. I can't tell you what the alcohol might be doing to you but it is gluten-free. Are you trying to avoid iodine, which can aggravate the DH? Are you taking enough dapsone? I've never heard of anything helping the DH except dapsone and going gluten-free. richard
  2. Once you've burned something with glutrn to a crisp, the structure of the gluten is in fact destroyed. I'd scrub the grill and use it but after that it's really easy just to cook yummy gluten-free stuff on it.. richard
  3. The vast majority of sausage I know about is gluten-free, except beer brats. richard
  4. In the U.S. Lea & Perrins (but not in Canada). Kraft, I think. richard
  5. Not 100 percent sure, but fairly certain that Haagan Daz is like most other brands. The obvious stuff has gluten and the rest is gluten-free. richard
  6. Yep, corn starch does indeed have gluten. Not a gluten celiacs have to worry about, but technically it's "gluten." richard

    ARCHIVED Burger King

The BK web site lists whether or not foods have wheat. The burger patty is 100 percent beef. Consumers these days simply will not tolerate a hamburger patty with "fillers" so 100 percent beef is pretty much what you find any more. richard
  8. It could be there is actually a chance of CC or it could be Publix' attorney told them to post this warning just in case. Sounds like they're simply listing those top 8 allergens in the new law to cover their rears. Has their fresh meat ever made you sick that you know of? Do you ever eat out. If you do, believe me yours odds of CC are much higher at the...
  9. Editing to change my post: Outback said its bleu cheese dressing was gluten-free until recently but pulled back because they were supposedly looking into how the vinegar in it is flavored. That was a few months ago but there's been no further info. The blue cheese Outback uses (can't remember the brand name) is started on an artificial medium of some...
  10. I'm not certain I understand. If you aren't corn intolerant, then corn syrup and HFCS are NOT a problem. They do not have gluten. richard
  11. Flu vaccines are relitively safe for those in good health. Make sure you don't get them when your immune system is down. I never ever get a flu shot if I'm sick or not feeling well. I think that's standard advice for the vaccine. richard
  12. Never found an artificial flavor that has gluten. richard
  13. Odds are very, very high that the envelope glue had no wheat. No U.S. manufacturer uses wheat. richard
  14. I don't think that everyone should stop having kids, just those that have an above average risk of health problems. Wow, this is really great. In Virginia, we used to have a wonderful program that sterilized tens of thousands of people who the state decided were mentally defective, too rebellious as teenagers (ran away too often or argued back too much...
  15. especially since I now live in a town full of hippie wanna bes. Ummm, what exactly are "hippie wanna bes"? Are they like bees but without one of the "e's"? Are they all smelly and long-haired and smoke illegal stuff? Your comment is ridiculous. richard
  16. First, I misworded what I said. I do think, however, that ADVISING other people to avoid ALL vaccines is irresponsible. Just heard a story today that in some countries cases of polio are taking a HUGE jump. I guess the fact that polio disappeared in the U.S. after people started getting the vaccine isn't absolute proof it works, but it seems like pretty strong...
  17. All seasame oil I've ever seen has been gluten-free. richard
  18. In the U.S. it CAN have wheat but it must be plainly listed if it does. That includes any foods from other countries that are sold here. richard
  19. Are you sure that celiac alone is doing all of this to you? Being gluten-free isn't helping? richard
  20. The pnuemonia vaccine does NOT protect against all types of pnuemonia just as the flu shot doesn't necessarily protect against all forms of the flu that might come around in any given year. My wife and I both had the flu together 20 years ago and we've both gotten the vaccine since then. Neither of us has had the flu since, thank goodness. As for staying...
  21. Some celiac experts recommend the pnuemonia vaccine for people with celiac. richard

    ARCHIVED Annatto

Annatto is not grown on bread and is always gluten-free. It's produced from the reddish pulp which surrounds the seed of the achiote tree. MSG in the U.S. is gluten-free and so are mono and diglycerides. CSA used to warn folks to be careful of these things, but they have since been proven safe. richard
  23. Every time I've actually been able to check a movie theater popcorn, it's been gluten-free. . Flavacol (sp?), the best-selling topping in the U.S., is gluten-free. It's very, very, very unlikely gluten is causing the vomiting, especially if it's happened from popcorn at different theaters. richard
  24. Caramel coloring is not a problem. richard
  25. Vanilla extract is gluten-free. The alcohol used is distilled. richard
