Welcome to the forum, Lura! There are more than one gluten-related medical conditions. And on top of t hat, the terminology can be confusing. "Sensitivity" can be a catch-all term. There is Celiac Disease. There is gluten intolerance. And, there is gluten allergy. Before you go on a gluten free diet, you would need to get tested for Celiac Disease. There are blood tests for the antibodies...
Are you saying that you were diagnosed with celiac disease but your doctor did not tell you to go gluten-free afterwards? That would amount to malpractice. There is no excuse, yet after 25 years of running this site we still hear stories like this...sad!
I need help understanding this because my doctors are no help.  Why would my Gastro Dr. not tell me about Gluten free diet?  My son is actually the one who told me that I may have a sensitivity after seeing me in pain everyday and feeling like I cannot eat....and he's not a Dr.! I am hoping to have people reach out because I am at my wits end!
