Some movies must be seen on a large screen with the sound blasting all around you.  We rarely eat out anymore, so we can spend the bucks on movies.

You have to see my big ole TV with the home theater surround sound. I get blasted pretty good.

I will probably change my mind when I live with the old people and can get "senior discounts"

I won't spoil the movie for anyone, although I can not tell you how difficult it is not to do so. It is almost physically painful not to say..... stuff. It was so awesome that I would go see it again. Even at nearly $20 for two tickets.

Just, if you are a Star Trek fan at all and care not to have the movie spoiled you should go immediately to see it. I am guessing that in the next 24-48 hours the plot will be all sorts of all over the internet and you'll end up having it ruined unless you swear off technology.

Well you may have just talked me into seeing the movie again. I was so excited about it and counting down the days until it came out, was ready to actually go to the theater (last movie I saw was Orphan when I was pregnant with my 3 1/2 year old), but then interviews with J.J. Abrams came out and I just couldn't justify spending the money to see something that the director most likely ruined, but I may have to give it a shot. No matter what I would have seen it eventually because I have seen everything Star Trek.

I actually think I may have converted my Star Wars is better, wouldn't even watch Star Trek hubby so us and my two girls all love it. TNG is a favorite for hubby, 6 year old and me whereas the youngest likes TOS best because she loves Spock and tribbles. Both girls asked me to use my ball shaped cake pan to make them a tribble cake for their birthdays this year and youngest takes her Star Trek book of opposites to bed with her every night.

I totally agree. This movie has made for theater action. The only reason we go to the movies pretty regularly is because of the $1 theater. It is very rare for us to make a "real" theater exception. The only other opening day movie we ever saw together was Alice. I also went opening day to Beauty and the Beast 3D and went to the sing-a-long when they had that a few years ago. My parents didn't take me when I was a kid and idc how many times it comes back to theaters, I'll see it again and again and again.....

There is nothing like an action movie in a theater though. I don't pass up the chance if I want to see it since we have a cheap theater here, I just have to wait longer.

IT WASN'T ME!!! But to be fair, if you didn't hear the rumors in the past months about who it would be you probably weren't watching any news at all about the movie.

Awesome.

Movie.

Theater.

PS....action movies require theater viewing....sure hope son keeps this job thru the summer if not longer...comfortable, clean chairs with three full feet of leg room over pristine floors...man I am going to get spoiled.

I remain a James Tiberius Kirk fan....although I love each character.

Fantastic birthday even with the intermitant tears as Shroomie and one of hubs childhood pack/friend of mine since HS both left us yesterday.

Guest2000 Newbie

I have to wait until next weekend to see it. Nooo!!!

I can't wait.

Pretty sure you guys just talked me into going to see this tonight at our 6$ tuesday night theater.....

Adalaide Mentor

Go! You won't be sorry. I will definitely be going to see it in theaters again when it gets to the $1 theater. Maybe even more than once.

Discount Tuesday prices today at Cineplex.  :)  And we had a gift card.  ;)

Loved the movie. It builds on prior material in the franchise, so you may miss some references if you did not see the original series episode "Space Seed" or Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

This is all common knowledge by now but something that everyone involved in the movie went to great lengths to keep under wraps until it was released. If you haven't see those though, while you may miss out on some trekkie jokes it won't take away from your enjoyment of the movie as long as you saw the last one.

Ugh. I still haven't seen this yet!! And I am a true Trekkie. I have been to Vulcan (Alberta  B) ) for the Star Trek festival  back in the early 90's... I even own pointy ears.  :D

Don't spoil it... tell me no more. I know my V-ger and Khan - I'm going this weekend!

I am soooo not a Star Trek fan as my least favourite genre is sci fi.  People and object thingers dressed up in tinfoil (what is that gold thing's name?) and getting beamed up somewhere??!!  I don't get it.  But honestly.  I am happy for those who do get enjoyment from it.  It makes me happy to see others happily anticipate something they love!  :D

Wait!  The one thing I do get is Darth Vader.  Why?  My husband must use a CPAP machine and when it is not snug over his nose he sounds disturbingly like Darth Vader.  So, I say, "Darth Vader, Dear" and he adjusts his mask.

This makes sense to me....as there is no way a Replicator will ever match L2T's culinary skill ;)

Even if you are not a science fiction fan....young JT Kirk would make a fantastic addition to our staff!

You're too funny (and sweet at the same time!).  I'll have to google young JT Kirk.  If he is a good fit, he is in!  :P

As far as I know and I have made severalonline searches, celiac disease disease has not been recognized as a cause of migraines or any eye problems. What I wrote must have been confusing.

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
