I'm gonna get going, have some errands to run plus I'm getting a cheek cramp (and not the cheek on my face) :o

Oh my gosh, I gotta go also, Rachel's Slumber Party/Chatroom Girl Talk Thread is posing to be a huge excuse to avoid doing all the work and projects I have to do.....excellent and fun time - waster (well not that it's wasted time but you know, so much to do around here and can't just laugh and e-chat all day!!)

And Andrea, you are so right about Sarah.....so, if she was 90 in biblical times and gave birth, maybe you can halve that age and I'm still good? :rolleyes:

Chelsea - - good for you for leading those girls! - - -I've been looking into Big Brothers/Big Sisters and am concerned because I am SO broke right now, still no full-time job and currently not even a PART-TIME job as the writer I work for has been gone for two weeks......if I had a little sister, what would we do? Even gas money is scarce......

You guys are awesome......all kinds of laughs, encouragement, support, and heck, I only started on page 90 or so.....as mentioned before, need the Cliff notes to catch up on the other chapters...........

I'd say 50 or so actually. Wasn't the average age 120 then. That's about 35-40 years beyond ours..so don't give up. :P

WHAT???? so there is still hope for me? (44 years old)

Now that I'm gluten-free and not drinking, I think that my, um, selection process for dating candidates will be MUCH healthier than before...... :rolleyes: but I had totally ruled out having children....problem is, I really want grandchildren!! :blink:

Susan, there is always hope, and always many possibilities. :)

I've been following this string almost from the beginning. I didn't check it after about 2:30 PM yesterday, so when I checked in this afternoon it had gone from page 101 to page 112!!! I'm so dizzy! :blink:

I'm crashing this slumber party! It's the absolute BEST!!! :D You all are so smart and witty and caring and loving! Hugs and kisses to all! :D:D:D

About babies, sure you can have babies when you're in your forties. Go for it! After my first three, my mother was embarassed to death when I would turn up preggers again. Nice people just don't DO it that often!!! :lol::lol::lol: Poor daddy. ;)

About alcohol, unless something dreadful happens to my body because of it, I intend to have my Jack Daniels every Friday and Saturday night. I'm a loyal Tennessean! :lol:

Rachel, I pray all goes well at the doctor's today. I'll check this string in the morning.

thanks Julie, Floridian, Patti and Andrea for all the encouragement about these older women having babies. You know, I never even really wanted one that badly, until now, when the gluten-haze has been removed - - - somehow I am looking at them now in this whole new light, and then think I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!! :o

Oh, nanny will be required too as I am old and tired. :P

Why would guys be bothered with Overaies or how ever they are spelled? We all came form them! Seesh! Next thing your gonna tell meis that you guys are to embarresed to pick up tampons/etc on they way home! :huh::mellow:

Well since this is a slumber party and we are alll so close now that we are talking about our reproductive organs, (thats eaiser to spell...) I have a question... Am I the only one that feels like he wasted his money on food after a large bowel movement? I check I just lost 2.5 pounds in one sitting! Man , if that was chopmeat thts like $9 or $10!!!

Yea...my husband is very cool about that kind of stuff--not embarassed at all.

Vincent--I like to say--"you can't buy (whatever), you can only rent it!" :lol: Stuff has a tendency to go through me pretty quick :ph34r:

My DH got over his embarassment real quick when I had an emergency need for monistat. He's also been sent out for emergency OTC UTI meds, emergency phazyme, and emergency pregnancy tests. He's also present at Sam's when I buy tampax in bulk :lol:

He's a good kid :)

Sunday marks one year of marital bliss!!!

Personally, I got over the embarassment of buying tampons/pads when I was old enough to need to buy condoms :ph34r:

We usually by the ground beef which is still very pricey but we bought it on sale. I had to call my mom to find out how to do pot roast. I'll still probably have to call her back tomorrow when I make it. Of course I have to adjust ingredients as I can't use wheat flour to coat it in. She also uses onion soup mix which I won't use. I haven't had pot roast for years...probably since I was last living at home...about 20 years ago...that's a long time...hope it's as good as I remember considering my mom won't be making it.

Our grocery budget is through the roof. Organic isn't cheap.

This isn't embarassing or anything, but just today Mark went to Whole Foods for me on his lunch break (it's near his work, but about 45 min from here). The store is under renovations, and he had to ask the guy where my Kiss My Face soap and Zia cleanser were--all the time on the phone with me making sure he got the right things. :rolleyes:

what comes to mind here is my phobia of "proper" words .... I can't say "menstration" and the rest of those.... I get SO embarrassed... now I can say the "slang" for everything and I have no problem.

Well I'm off to my appt. :)

I had to catch up on the thread first...I feel like I'm running late all day today. Late for work, late coming back from lunch and now...if I dont move my butt, late for the appt. Could it be the thread? :o

Nah.... :P

BTW...The last guy I dated wasnt at all bothered when after only a few dates I sent him to the store for tampons. :lol:

It was kind of a test but he wasnt phased at all...I think he was actually happy to do it. :huh:

Many times after that he brought them home....knew exactly which ones to get too!

Oh...we werent living together....alot of times I was too sick to go to the store though so he went for me. :)

      Airborne Gluten?

      I can't prove it, but I truly believe I have been glutened by airborne particles. I used to take care of shelter cats once per week at a pet store, and no matter how careful I was, I would get glutened each time even if I wore a mask and gloves and washed up well after I was done. I believe the problem was that because I'm short, I couldn't do the the tasks...

I can get glutened from the bakery section at the grocery store. The nose and mouth drain into the digestive system and can trigger systemic reactions. I find the histamine release...

I believe the problem was that because I'm short, I couldn't do the the tasks without getting my head and shoulders inside their cages, and so the particles from their food would be all over my hair and top of my shirt. Then I had to drive home, so even if I didn't get glutened right then, the particles would be in my car just waiting for me to get in the car so they could get blown into my face again. I gave up that volunteer gig and stopped getting glutened so often and at such regular intervals.

      Hello, @annamarie6655, Yes, there's many of us who react to airborne gluten!   Yes, animal feed, whether for chickens or cats or dogs, can release airborne gluten.  I can get glutened from the bakery section at the grocery store.   The nose and mouth drain into the digestive system and can trigger systemic reactions.   I find the histamine release in response to airborne gluten will stuff up my sinuses and bother my eyes.  High histamine levels do cause anxiety and migraines.  The muscle spasms can be caused by high histamine, too.  The digestive system may not manifest symptoms without a higher level of gluten exposure.   Our bodies make an enzyme, DAO (diamine oxidase), to break down histamine.   Pyridoxine B 6, Cobalamine B12, Vitamin C, copper, zinc, and iron are needed to make DAO.  DAO supplements are available over the counter.  Taking a B Complex supplement and additional Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine or TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) helps reduce the amount of histamine being released.  Mast cells without sufficient Thiamine have an itchy trigger finger and release histamine at the slightest provocation.  Thiamine helps mast cells refrain from releasing their histamine.    I find taking additional TTFD thiamine helps immensely with neurological symptoms as TTFD can easily cross the blood brain barrier without a carrier.  High histamine in the brain can cause the muscle spasms, anxiety and migraines.  Vitamin C really helps with clearing histamine, too.   The Digiorno pizza mystery reaction could have been caused by a reaction to the cheese.  Some people develop lactose intolerance.  Others react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as if to gluten because Casein resembles the molecular structure of gluten.  An enzyme used in some dairy products, microbial transglutaminase, causes a gluten reaction because it is the same as the tissue transglutaminase our bodies make except microbes make it.  Those tTg IgA blood tests to diagnose celiac disease measure tissue transglutaminase our bodies release as part of the autoimmune response to gluten.   You're doing great!  A Sherlock Holmes award to you for figuring out the connection between airborne gluten and animal feed!!!

      I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience with the gluten challenge. Her previous endoscopy was negative but this past August it was positive after the gluten challenge. If you have done the gluten challenge, how long did it take you to feel back to normal? It took about two months before she got “glutened” again but now she’s having difficult coming back from that and has a lot of fatigue. I’m hoping someone has some advice!
