Rinne - yes, there will be dancing! :D I haven't danced in a long time, but I used to LOVE it.

Evie - have prayed for your husband.

Patti - LOVE the picture!!

Celia - Okay, I'll try to take over the rollcall, lol. As soon as I find the page it is on and copy it and then go over the 100 or so pages afterwards to make sure I didn't miss anyone.

Ugh, stool tests, lol. I've had enough of those.

Needles - I think I actually should have been a nurse. I don't mind and I can look at blood and all, but about half of the time when I have blood drawn, I can feel the blood drain from my head down to my toes. I was mentioning that to the nurse on Thursday while she was putting in my IV and my mom was looking away, lol. The nurse said it is a real condition, although I can't remember what she called it. My mom is just afraid of needles...I just pass out from the blood drain, lol.

I think I had my own OMG moment last night...can't wait to hear Rachel's. I think I may have mentioned my severe itching on my legs. The coconut oil seemed to help slightly but only for a few minutes. I read on another board yesterday where someone said sugar may play a part in it (heat also). I have been plagued with this itching for years, but a few years ago it kind of went away....guess what...I was on a low carb diet during the time it went away. I thought about that as I sat at work yesterday and noticed that my legs didn't itch...I hadn't had any sugar yet...didn't have any for lunch or late afternoon snack either. On the way home from work a small spot on my thigh right above my knee started to itch...I'm pretty sure that was from the sun hitting it, but it still wasn't bad. I didn't have any sugar yesterday until dinner time, where I had frozen pineapple and a couple of squares of chocolate. It took maybe an hour, but my legs started to itch more and more as the evening went on. I had more sugar as a snack, and by the time I went to bed I was stratching like crazy. Another grasping at straws thing, but hey it's worth a test I think.

Again this morning I haven't had any sugar and my legs aren't itching!

I also think I figured out why I had glutening symptoms yesterday...I ate a tiny communion wafer at Church on Sunday. DOH!!!!! How idiotic am I anyway?!

Celia--Great news from your appt!!! Yea :D

AndreaB Contributor
oh but I did ask her if I could cut back on my Cyanocobalamin injections cuz maybe I can regrow my Intrinstic Factor and not need it... I got this look from her  and with that look I knew the answer... NOPE, I will forever and ever have to be on it, every other Friday... uggg... I'll tell you guys it sucks, if you've ever gotten a tetanus shot you'll understand... it hurts and your arm hurts forever... I have to rotate arms because the first one still hurts by the time I need the next shot... but other then that, I felt really good about the visit.

Celia,

I had a b12 injection and brought more home to do but I had my regular doctor do a blood draw and see what my levels were. She said they were normal but I've read other posts that normal differs. I really need to call and see what the number was. My point is, the doctor I saw for my allergy testing and the b12 presription gave me the injection so I could see how it was done (since I was going to do them at home). You need to go real slow with the injection or it does hurt. It barely bothered me at all. Slow is the trick.

Glad the rest of your appointment went so well. Good job and a pat on the back for you....or a hug if you prefer hugs over pats on the back. :P

Rachel,

Has it be almost a month already for your new med? I hope all goes well with your check back test.

Miamia,

Keep us posted on how the new med does for you as well. That's great that your doctor is letting you go on it.

Susan,

Doesn't sound like you had much fun with c-diff. I never heard of it till I came on this site.

Good Morning/Afternoon all depending on where you live. :P

Evie,

Hope and pray for good news today for your husband.

Donna,

Sounds reasonable to me. Also if you go off refined sugar and reduce all sugar intake you'll have the added benefit of weight loss. I lost 18 pounds doing that a few years ago.

I hope that nasty bugger's gone from you, if it IS still there, I think it shows that your immune system is strong enough to fight it off. But honestly? I think we need a whole team of us, in R-ville, to just lay hands on your intestines and pray like heck for you! Because somethin' ain't right in there...

:lol::lol:

You are too funny...

Yeah...can we pleeeze get rid of whatever the heck is plagueing me all this time. Is it the alien baby, the C. Diff....or something else that we have yet to discover??

I know my immune system is really strong at fighting stuff because I NEVER get sick....This whole time I think I might have gotten maybe 2 colds. I seriously am so healthy other than this intestinal problem....which pretty much makes me extremely ill...so for get about what I just said about being so healthy. <_<

Anyways, if the C.Diff's still there it could be keeping my flora all out of wack...no good flora and a bunch of Candida and C.Difficile *cannot* be a good thing. :(

If it is there I'm not getting the "d" from it so we'll just have to wait and see what the tests say. I totally would rather have a parasite than C.Diff cuz they are much easier to get rid of. C.Diff has like "claws" and it gets ahold of your intestines and just wreaks havoc...not a pretty picture I have in my head. <_< Maybe thats why my intestines werent looking too happy on the ultrasound...maybe they're jumping all over trying to shake off nasty bugs like the C.Diff.

Ok, whose hubby is being left behind in his seventies world? Can my hubby stay with him? They can eat tv dinners and wear goofy clothes all they want.

Celia, migraines are the worst- I hope you feel better. They can be such a nightmare, I know. I hope you can get relief. I used to take cafergot and regularly got the phenergan shots when they were so bad. Also demerol -good stuff :)

It's my husband, Robbin. He's stuck in the 1940s, but may have one foot in the 70s because he LOVES those horrid, ugly paneled walls! Certainly your hubby can move in with him! Does your's also wear polyester, double-knit pants? :( I just adore going out all dressed up and looking chic and sophisticated, but guess what he wears! A short-sleeved sport shirt (He's partial to the Hawaiian ones.), double-knit pants, and scruffy brown boots!!! His poor little ol' mama, rest her soul, used to BEG him to wear a suit and tie when we went to a restaurant, to no avail. :( When he and I are out, I usually pretend we're not married - just friends.

Have your migraines gone away?

Cissie

Oh, by the way, Susan has suggested that we do an intervention on my husband. Don't know if it would help, but it's worth a try! :P

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Celia, glad your appt. went well. Sounds like you're healing girl! :)

When he and I are out, I usually pretend we're not married - just friends.

OMG that is the funniest thing ever....yes, we definitely must do an aesthetic and style intervention on him, when we all get to R-ville...

Rachel - - pardon my forgetfulness, do you find out TODAY if it's C. Diff? don't have time to search this giant tome....

Celia - glad you're better -

I'll tell you something, I am getting really confused sometimes as to who has what condition, who's taking injections, etc., there's just so much in here so please forgive me if I ever get anyone confused with anyone else!

Donna - is it you that gets itchy from sugar? that's nuts! but glad you figured it out....

Rachel - - pardon my forgetfulness, do you find out TODAY if it's C. Diff? don't have time to search this giant tome....

No....not today. I think its been about 5 months since they told me I had it but I just never retested after the antibiotics....mainly because the stool test is kind of a PIA.

I just started the test this morning but its one of those ones where you have to give about 5 different samples over that many days...so I wont even be done with the tasting until around the weekend. Then I'll have to ship it the lab and I just scheduled my Dr. appt. For Aug. 4th. So...thats when I'll hear the results. They'll be looking for alot of stuff....not just the C.diff.

AndreaB Contributor

Celia,

I was only supposed to take one cc 2-3 times a week and then move to once a month after that. The bottle I have says 1000 mcg/ml and it is 30 ml...I don't know how much one cc works out to though.

Will you get to eventually move to once a month with this?

DingoGirl Enthusiast

OMG, leaving R-ville for a bit....my brother's MIL died this morning.....it was expected, she was down to 75 pounds, throat cancer....v. v. sad. :(

So, I'm going to go get the girls (my bro has five daughters and the three youngest are home just now) and hang with them...I am working very hard to mend tensions I caused through the years with my two brothes, so I would appreciate any prayers toward this end....I want the closeness back we once shared. A very sad day here, Grandma Rosie was a treasure, a feisty little dear thing, adn my SIL is devastated.....

CELIA, I'm so glad you're feeling better! :) What did the doc say about the cafergot?

RACHEL, what is C. Diff? Yucky, hateful old stool tests.:angry::angry: Does a local lab do the testing, or do you use EnteroLab?

Has anyone had a problem with pickup by DHL? I'm having the complete workup offered by EnteroLab, IF my specimen ever reaches them!!! After I received the kit, I had to wait three weeks before I could use it, for valid reasons too boring to mention. Finally made my "deposit" last Wednesday; called DHL and was given a pickup time for that same afternoon. No one showed up. Called again - pickup date was set for Monday (yesterday). No one showed up. (Mind you now, the entire, 3-layered-hermetically-sealed package was sitting in my freezer. Shudder, shudder!) Called their customer service office this morning and raised cain.:angry::angry: Success at last; package was picked up half an hour ago. HALLELUJAH!!!!!

I've been on completely gluten-free, msg-free diet for a week, and already feeling much better. I didn't need to be hit over the head to figure this thing out, but wanted to wait until after I had my specimen before going on the strict diet.

Needed to vent, so thanks for being there. (My daughter L. says there's a fine line between venting and whining!) :P

Oh Susan,

I'm sorry. Our prayers will be with you for strength as well. Will you be gone awhile, will the critters go with you?

jerseyangel Proficient

Susan, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that your help with the girls will be so appreciated, and will go a long way to mend whatever bad feelings still exist. Take care--we'll be thinking about you! I'll say a prayer for the family and Grandma Rosie :)

AndreaB Contributor

Cissie,

Let us know the results after you get them. I didn't have any problems with DHL. I called in in the morning and they showed up within the hour. I didn't even have the boxes taped up since I didn't figure DHL to be here until the afternoon.

Camille'sBigSister Newbie

Oh, Susan, I'm so sorry! Grief over the death of someone you love is so painful, whether it's expected or not! My prayers are with you and your family!

I send you love.

Susan - I'm so sorry...will be praying.

Celia - I'm sorry, we were posting at the same time earlier and then work happened. I hate it when they make me work at work, lol. Anyway, I am so happy your doctor thinks you are making progress. Sorry about the lifer shots. :(

Oh sheesh, I already forgot what I was going to respond to, lol.

Back in a minute after I re-read the pages I just read.

Donna - is it you that gets itchy from sugar? that's nuts! but glad you figured it out....

Yep, me. It is nuts, but in some ways it makes sense....I thought for a long time that I had a problem with candida, one of the reasons why I went to low carb in the first place, but after 3 years or so figured it might be taken care of--it never shows on any tests. It did show on my allergy tests 5 years ago though.

Has anyone had a problem with pickup by DHL? I'm having the complete workup offered by EnteroLab, IF my specimen ever reaches them!!! It's never whining here, lol! I didn't have any problems with them picking up my deposits, lol. They came as they were scheduled, but because of circumstances and my work schedule the deposits did have to sit in my freezer for a while...so I understand the shuddering. :D

My GI and my ENT both said that diet is a valid test, and while my GI won't go so far as to diagnose with Celiac, he does recognize I can't eat gluten, lol.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with Celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis after years of suffering without answers. I lost my mind. I lost my job. I lost so much time. I lost Me. Conventional doctors are opulent come near me and the one who did sat across the room, misdiagnosed me, pumped me full of steroids which collapsed my entire hip for 6 months. So without answers I began my holistic journey. Fast forward a couple of years and still struggling with a mysterious whole body itchy, crawling “skin hell”, perfect teeth now deteriorating, thick hair now thinning rapidly and no more than a day or 2 at most relief….An acquaintance opened up a functional medicine practice. Cash only, I found a way. Within a month tests clearly showing my off the charts gluten allergy/sensitivity as well as the depletion of vital nutrients due to leaky gut and intestinal damage. dermatitis herpetiformis was more than likely what I was experiencing with my skin. I was happy. I thought this is easy, eat healthy Whole Foods, follow the diet restrictions and I finally get to heal and feel confident and like myself again very soon! 😔 Supplements are very pricey but I got them and began my healing. Which leads to the other major issue: not working, stay at home Mom of young kids, entirely financially dependent on my man of 7 plus years. He’s never been supportive of anything I’ve ever done or been thru. He controls everything. I’m not given much money ever at a time and when he does leave money it’s only enough to possibly get gas. His excuse is that I’ll spend it on other things. So my “allowance” is inconsistent and has conditions. He withholds money from me as punishment for anything he wants. Since being diagnosed, he’s gained a new control tactic to use as punishment. He now is in control of when I get to eat. He asked for proof of my diagnosis and diet bc he said I made it up just to be able to eat expensive organic foods. Then after I sent him my file from my doctor he then said she wasn’t a real doctor. 😡. I go days upon days starving, sometimes breaking down and eating things I shouldn’t bc I’m so sick then I pay horribly while he gets annoyed and angry bc I’m not keeping up with all the duties I’m supposed to be doing. His abuse turns full on when I’m down and it’s in these desperate times when I need his support and care the most that I’m punished with silence, being starved, ignored, belittled. He will create more of a mess just bc I’m unable to get up and clean so that when I am better, I’m so overwhelmed with chores to catch up that the stress causes me to go right back into a flare from hell and the cycle repeats. I’m punished for being sick. I’m belittled for starving and asking for healthy clean water. I’m purposely left out of his life. He won’t even tell me he’s going to the grocery or to get dinner bc he doesn’t want me to ask him for anything. I have no one. I have nothing. Im not better. My supplements ran out and I desperately need Vitamin D3 and a methylated B complex at the very minimal just to function….he stares at me blankly…no, a slight smirk, no words. He’s happiest when im miserable and I am miserable.  this is so long and im condensing as much as I can but this situation is so complicated and disgusting. And it’s currently my life. The “IT” girl, the healthy, beautiful, perfect skin, perfect teeth, thick and curly locks for days, creative and talented IT girl….now I won’t even leave this house bc Im ashamed of what this has dont to my body, my skin. Im disgusted. The stress is keeping me from healing and I think he knows that and that’s why he continues to keep me in that state. He doesn’t want me confident or successful. He doesn’t want me healed and healthy bc then how would he put the blame of all his problems on me? This journey has been hell and I’ve been in Hell before. I’ve been killed by an ex, I’ve been raped, robbed, held hostage, abused beyond nightmares but the cruelty I’ve experienced from him bc of this disease is the coldest I’ve ever experienced. I’ve wanted to give up. Starving and in tears, desperate…I found a local food pantry in our small town so I reached out just saying I had Celiac and was on hard times. This woman is blessing me daily with prepared gluten free meals, donations, educational info, people who know this disease and how they manage life and the blessings just keep coming. But it’s overwhelming and I feel like I don’t deserve it at all. He just glared and I know he’s going to sabotage it somehow. I don’t even know what to do anymore. I’m so broken and just want peace and healing.

@Colleen H   I am just curious,  when you were tested for coeliac disease, did the doctors find out if you had any deficiencies? Sometimes muscle pain can be caused by certain deficiencies, for example, magnesium, vitamin D, calcium, and potassium.   Might be worth looking into having some more tests.  Pins and needles can be neuropathy, again caused by deficiencies, such as iron and B12,  which can be reversed if these deficiencies are addressed. In the UK where I live we are usually only tested for iron, B12 and vitamin D deficiencies at diagnosis.   I was very iron anemic and supplementation made a big difference.  B12 was low normal, but in other countries the UK's low normal would be considered a deficiency.  My vitamin D was low normal, and I've been supplementing ever since (when I remember to take it!) My pins and needles definitely started to improve when my known deficiencies were addressed.  My nutritionist also gave me a broad spectrum supplement which really helped, because I suspect I wasn't just deficient in what I mention above but in many other vitamins and minerals.  But a word of warning, don't take iron unless blood tests reveal you actually need it, and if you are taking it your levels must be regularly monitored because too much can make you ill.  (And if you are currently taking iron, that might actually be making your stomach sore - it did mine, so my GP changed my iron supplementation to a gentler form, ferrous gluconate). Lastly, have you been trying to take anything to lessen the pain in your gut?  I get a sore stomach periodically, usually when I've had too much rich food, or when I have had to take an aspirin or certain antibiotics, or after glutening.  When this happens, I take for just a few days a small daily dose of OTC omeprazole.  I also follow a reflux or gastritis diet. There are lots online but the common denominators to these diets is you need to cut out caffeine, alcohol, rich, spicy, acidic food etc and eat small regularly spaced meals.   When I get a sore stomach, I also find it helpful to drink lots of water.  I also find hot water with a few slices of ginger very soothing to sip, or camomile tea.  A wedge pillow at night is good for reflux. Also,  best not to eat a meal 2-3 hours before going to bed. If the stomach pain is getting worse, though, it would be wise to see the doctor again. I hope some of this helps. Cristiana
