Birdy, I'll check next Monday then!

Lisa, glad you liked the yoga.

That's great you started your period, a good sign that things in that department are trying to function again :)

Kassandra,

For anxiety, you might try Bach's Rescue Remedy. Its homeopathic and I've used it for years (when I remember). I've also used it on the cats/dogs when there's been a household upset. Works pretty well for all of us.

I was just about to suggest this very thing, Bach's Rescue Remedy. It's really good for stress, stressful situations, anxiety.

To combat a cold coming on you can bump up vit C, drink ginger tea, probiotics, garlic, lots of fluids.

It was fun! I look forward to chat every day .... is that pathetic? I don't think so ... we can't help we aren't meeting in person. :)

Love the blue hair, btw. I couldn't pull that off.

See you at 8?

I figured out why I was so TIRED yesterday .... I have been fighting off a bug!

I like the chats. Its really nice to have folks to chat with and bounce off of (verbally) in real time.

Btw, managed to give the dog's dinner to the dog tonight. Yay me! :D

Will probably wander by tonight. Isn't there a chat over at WC's board on wednesdays? Or do I have my days wrong?

Thanks! re: hair. And I really hate that pic. Dunno why. Just think I look goofy. Hubby looks good tho. :)

Keep fighting that bug!

I want to chat. How Do you chat lyme?

What's WC?

Thanks! re: hair. And I really hate that pic. Dunno why. Just think I look goofy. Hubby looks good tho. :)

Maybe it's because you look so conservative .... you really can't tell it's a corset .... so you're kind of like an attorney with blue hair.

Lisa, www.lymediseaseaudio.com/lymechat.htm Starts at 8 Eastern (or later, when someone gets there). It goes late. I'm there under my Lymenet screen name.

I have heard this can be a magnesium deficiency, as well as other minerals.

aprilh Apprentice

My latest test results showed calcium to be a bit low.

I take 200 mg of magnesium every night. Wonder if its too much or not enough???

I am going to take a detox bath and see if that helps. :(

Hey, since i think I might have positive lyme bands, wonder if this is what is causing my daughters leg pain and iron deficiency?

My son had more of the gastro issues when he was born, but I was more symptomatic - had lots of issues going on when I was prego with him.

Let's see, I am trying to think how much Mag I was taking, it's been a while and I just can't remember the size mg my caps were. I took one every meal too, so you might be able to bump it up a little.

I hope the detox bath helps :) .

yep, i'm a guy! hahaha, thanks for your replies everyone

april, i don't see how i wouldn't have candida...it's almost a given, along with other infections...when i first got sick a year ago, was when i had that weakening swallow based attack (wasn't acid reflux, yet stirred it up)....i mean, hours and hours of bial or whatever going up and down, you can't tell me that did nothing....i have lumps on the roof of my mouth since then so something of that sort....sometimes i have green bowels which i can't see what it could be besides fungus, but it all hides i assume which is why my bowels are just different almost every time...i'm not taking probiotics, but soon i will...been needing to

good site, you people should check it out, has a parasites page, candida, mercury

it sounds so much like i have mercury, but i've never had any fillings...then again, toxin build-up of all sorts is probably the same effect....who knows, once i get some more info it'll be easier and get a better idea of what's overpowering cause all i can do is guess....i just know that my neuro system has been the thing majorly effected so when a weight is lifted off that, it'll be amazing....it's just so hard, i can't remember what it feels like to feel normal....a thing that's been drained with me is i don't know at all how to react to things, it all has no flow and feels like nothing if you will, pretty scary....and i can't even imagine how it feels to be normal

Well I've done 3 castor oil packs thus far and I started breaking out after the second one, and today after the third I am broken out all over my body :( .

I think it's safe to say the castor oil packs are really pulling stuff out of the liver and just detoxing in general.

I am going to take an epsom salt/soda/peroxide bath here shortly and hopefully that will help with the toxic load.

Has anybody heard from Rachel? Just wondering how she's doing.

Ugh, I woke up this morning and my thraot hurts so bad I can barely swallow. Also, it's like my tongue is swollen. It's very strange. I am going to be really upset if this is from the kids I babysit (not that I'll ever know...but).

So sorry about your throat :(

I also have a very sore throat and lots of drainage, everyone is sick in my family. Everyone I talk to is sick it seems, everywhere! There are some pretty virulent bugs going around right now. Some have head and throat symtoms, some in the chest, some gastrointestinal. And they say it's long lasting.

I have been drinking homemade ginger tea as much as I can for the sore throat.

I hope you feel better soon :)

Ok thanks Andrea, hope she is doing well.

I am not so sure though me breaking out is a good thing :(

CarlaB Enthusiast

Julie, did the bath help at all?

Kassandra, you don't have a clue who Curi is on Lymechat, do you? LOL It's someone you know ... see if you can guess.

If your thoat is feeling so bad and you know you've been exposed to strep, you might want to get a throat culture .... you CAN take Amoxy with Zith and Mepron (I did ... well, it was Biaxin rather than Zith).

I'm not so sure either. :( Hopefully things won't get to a bad outbreak though.

Carla, your teeth look BEAUTIFUL!!! :D Congrats on brace-free teeth! YAY!! :)

Hmm, I am afraid to go to the Dr. I guess I could go to a local clinic. Or, I could call my LLMD and ask which abx I could get if it is strep, because I am allergic to penicillin and amoxicillin.

And, no...who is Curi? Is it Nyxie?

Julie,

Maybe take a break from the castor oil packs until you get the breakout under control. I think I'll start slow. Maybe do it every other day or so until I see what happens.

Can you take activated charcoal to help absorb? Hope the bath helps.....

April

Looks like I can bump up my magnesium if i need to. Everyone takes way more than I am currently.

My eye hasn't twitched too much today.

AndreaB Contributor

Nice picture Carla! Yay on no more braces! :D

Thanks April :)

Yes, I am going to stop them.

I put in an email for my practitioner and I just heard back, she said definitely STOP them, I am detoxing too fast.

I just took a bath but haven't noticed any changes yet, it's too early to tell if it helped. I might take another one later. I could only stay in 15 minutes, I got much too weak.

It's probably a good idea for you to start out slow with them also.

Glad your eye isn't twitching as much today ;)

Hi @Dizzyma I note what @trents has commented about you possibly posting from the UK.  Just to let you know that am a coeliac based in the UK, so if that is the case, do let me know if can help you with any questions on the NHS provision for coeliacs.    If you are indeed based in the UK, and coeliac disease is confirmed, I would thoroughly recommend you join Coeliac UK, as they provide a printed food and drink guide and also a phone app which you can take shopping with you so you can find out if a product is gluten free or not. But one thing I would like to say to you, no matter where you live, is you mention that your daughter is anxious.  I was always a bit of a nervous, anxious child but before my diagnosis in mid-life my anxiety levels were through the roof.   My anxiety got steadily better when I followed the gluten-free diet and vitamin and mineral deficiencies were addressed.  Anxiety is very common at diagnosis, you may well find that her anxiety will improve once your daughter follows a strict gluten-free diet. Welcome to the celic.com community @Dizzyma! I'm assuming you are in the U.K. since you speak of your daughter's celiac disease blood tests as "her bloods".  Has her physician officially diagnosed her has having celiac disease on the results of her blood tests alone? Normally, if the ttg-iga blood test results are positive, a follow-up endoscopy with biopsy of the small bowel lining to check for damage would be ordered to confirm the results of "the bloods". However if the ttg-iga test score is 10x normal or greater, some physicians, particularly in the U.K., will dispense with the endoscopy/biopsy. If there is to be an endoscopy/biopsy, your daughter should not yet begin the gluten free diet as doing so would allow healing of the small bowel lining to commence which may result in a biopsy finding having results that conflict with the blood work. Do you know if an endoscopy/biopsy is planned? Celiac disease can have onset at any stage of life, from infancy to old age. It has a genetic base but the genes remain dormant until and unless triggered by some stress event. The stress event can be many things but it is often a viral infection. About 40% of the general population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. So, for most, the genes remain dormant.  Celiac disease is by nature an autoimmune disorder. That is to say, gluten ingestion triggers an immune response that causes the body to attack its own tissues. In this case, the attack happens in he lining of the small bowel, at least classically, though we now know there are other body systems that can sometimes be affected. So, for a person with celiac disease, when they ingest gluten, the body sends attacking cells to battle the gluten which causes inflammation as the gluten is being absorbed into the cells that make up the lining of the small bowel. This causes damage to the cells and over time, wears them down. This lining is composed of billions of tiny finger-like projections and which creates a tremendous surface area for absorbing nutrients from the food we eat. This area of the intestinal track is where all of our nutrition is absorbed. As these finger-like projections get worn down by the constant inflammation from continued gluten consumption before diagnosis (or after diagnosis in the case of those who are noncompliant) the efficiency of nutrient absorption from what we eat can be drastically reduced. This is why iron deficiency anemia and other nutrient deficiency related medical problems are so common in the celiac population. So, to answer your question about the wisdom of allowing your daughter to consume gluten on a limited basis to retain some tolerance to it, that would not be a sound approach because it would prevent healing of the lining of her small bowel. It would keep the fires of inflammation smoldering. The only wise course is strict adherence to a gluten free diet, once all tests to confirm celiac disease are complete.

Hi all, I have so many questions and feel like google is giving me very different information. Hoping I may get some more definite answers here. ok, my daughter has been diagnosed as a coeliac as her bloods show anti TTG antibodies are over 128. We have started her  on a full gluten free diet. my concerns are that she wasn’t actually physically sick on her regular diet, she had tummy issues and skin sores. My fear is that she will build up a complete intolerance to gluten and become physically sick if she has gluten. Is there anything to be said for keeping a small bit of gluten in the diet to stop her from developing a total intolerance?  also, she would be an anxious type of person, is it possible that stress is the reason she has become coeliac? I read that diagnosis later in childhood could be following a sickness or stress. How can she have been fine for the first 10 years and then become coeliac? sorry, I’m just very confused and really want to do right by her. I know a coeliac and she has a terrible time after she gets gluttened so just want to make sure going down a total gluten free road is the right choice. thank you for any help or advise xx
