Here's some more info on zeolites

The results of research on zeolite are very impressive:

It has a chelation-like effect in removing heavy metals (particularly lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic), pesticides, herbicides, PCBs, and other toxins from the body. These toxins are strongly correlated with the occurrence of a wide range of diseases, including cancers and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's, autism, and dementia.

Zeolite also improves liver function, indirectly improving elimination of pesticides, herbicides, and xeno-estrogens.

Zeolite appears to block viral replication, and may prove to be a potent anti-viral and general remedy for all viruses. To date, 40 anecdotal cases of herpes zoster have reportedly been healed. Preliminary anecdotal case studies suggest that it may help alleviate rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and hepatitis C as well as the common cold and flu.

Zeolite's binding power was proven during the Chernobyl disaster, when tons of it were used to remove radioactive cesium and strontium-90 before they contaminated local water systems.

Zeolite creates a natural buffer in the system by establishing an optimal pH level (between 7.35 and 7.45), which in turn activates healthy brain function and a strong immune system.

It is an effective detoxifier for prospective mothers and fathers. Anecdotal evidence and centuries of use in Asia suggest that zeolite is safe to use even during pregnancy and breastfeeding, although its safe use in pregnancy has not been proven in double-blind studies.

According to testimonials, zeolite promotes a sense of well-being, clarity, and happiness. It appears to do this as a consequence of eliminating toxins and also, according to preliminary research, by increasing serotonin production. One study suggests that zeolite also helps relieve depression.

Anecdotal reports suggest that zeolite increases energy, immune function, and general health.

Zeolite neutralizes the formation of nitrosamines in the stomach. Found in processed meats, nitrosamines are one cause of stomach cancer. Another positive effect on the stomach, according to many anecdotal reports, is relief of acid reflux.

Testimonials suggest that zeolite captures triggering antigens, which cause allergies, migraines, and asthma, decreasing the rate and severity of these symptoms.

Zeolite directly absorbs free radicals and thus decreases free radical activity and damage to the body.

Okay I just heard from my GI's office...

My ampulla biopsy was ruled benign, but the cells showed some signs of precancerous changes. The doctor has sent the slides out for a second opinion and those results aren't back yet.

Sheesh, why can't anything be easy or cut and dry, lol. This is about what happened two years ago only it was the first lab who said it was okay...the second was the one who thought it was precancer.

So...still waiting. <_<

More waiting :(

We're all waiting right along with you, Donna :) Sending tons of positive thoughts. :):)

dlp252 Apprentice

Thank you for the positive thoughts!!!

Do you know what they'll want to do if it's precancerous?

If it's precancerous they will probably have to take the ampulla out. That would involve a specialty place that does this type of surgery often...it's kind of rare. Of course, lol.

Nah it's okay. It's only 100 in organizational volume. I need to call Waiora because on their site it's hard to find on buying just one bottle. You can do it, it's just tricky.:)

does anyone know how to create business websites?

go to www.gogosystems.com and sign up for your domain name....pretty cheap - less than $20 per year.

Then go to ............ugh! I can't remember. Let me ask my cousin. He's a computer guru and told me its very easy. Whatever you do, he says not to use anything like Microsoft Live - its not as safe as a linux based system.

aprilh Apprentice

you can also use www.godaddy.com.

There are website building products on there.

Hi Carol!

I have multiple diagnosees (sp?) as well.

How do you get to the Lyme thread? I am still so clueless.

The thing that is so bizarre is that I had one on Monday and had NO problems at all! Then yesterday had a severe reaction. So who really knows? :P

Kassandra, this IS so scary. I am very very glad you are coming through it.

I had a wild thought, had you started your Vitamin D supplements yet? The reason I asked is that since I started supplementing Vitamin D, my allergies have been really fluctuating. Not so scary like the attack you had, but my shots changing, etc. Feels like my immune system is shifting around. Years ago I was so sensitive that I was always reacting to my shots. Then things seemed to stabilize a lot more. Now it is like my immune system is waking up again and being more sensitive. I realize that what I thought was stability may have been to some degree a depressed immune system.

My sense has been that ultimately this is a good thing but that my body has to totally readjust.

Sherry

Nancy....are you looking for the Lyme Disease thread on this board or are you looking for LymeNET (Which is a different board altogether)?

Right now while I was making my lunch....and in the process of gobbling down a huge piece of chocolate cake (yeah....I eat my desert first :P ) I heard all these sirens right outside...and then a bunch of yelling.

I went out on my mom's patio and peeked over the fence...I got to watch a "bad guy" get taken down.....just like in "COPS". :o

"Bad boys, bad boys....whatcha gonna do....whatcha gonna do when they're comin for you".

There was a whole undercover swat team, a police dog, officers everywhere with guns drawn. And then me....just a few feet away with my head peeking over the fence.

I dunno what this guy did....but it must have been really bad!!

So yeah....I watched the whole thing...never once letting go of my chocolate cake. :D

My ground beef almost got "charcoalized" on the stove.

Bad boys, bad boys....whatcha gonna do....

Julie....I dunno why but for some reason the mention of "Cops" in this thread made me think of you.:lol:

I dont know if any of them were "hot" though. All of my attention was focused on the drama. :P

Did you have the IV abx monday too? Could be the combination did it or it was the abx causing the reaction yesterday. It would be wierd to think you would react to the iron itself??? But I guess anything's possible. Wonder if there is anything in there besides Iron?

It's not wierd to react to the iron at all. If you look up ferrlicit the severe allergic reactions are exactly what I experienced. It wasn't the abx because I have infused 2x since then with no problems. It was definitely the iron. Now we just have to find out if it was a freak thing, or a true allergic reaction that happens every time.

It was just saline and the ferrlicit. Nothing else in the IV.

Kassandra, this IS so scary. I am very very glad you are coming through it.

Kassandra, how are you feeling today? What's the latest?

I'm exhausted. There isn't anything new and exciting to tell. I'm kinda worried that if I do truly react to the Iron IV, what are they going to do? I'm so miserably anemic I can't stand it. But, my hemoglobin is fine. So I can't really get a blood transfusion.

I am supposed to go shopping today with my mom for a dress for a wedding I'm going to on Saturday. My mom had to drag me this afternoon to go. I used to LOVE shopping! Now, I could totally care less. <_<

Yeah Paula....you'll eventually get to read about Julie and her cop. Right now she's saying that the cop pulled HER over.....but I actually think it was the other way around!

Anyways....lots of good Rachelville memories in here.....have fun! :D

Celia's deleted all her posts and I've gone through some of it and got rid of the constant town list. Most of it should still be intact though. 2 years ago Paula.......starting sometime in June/July, although I'm thinking the beginning of July.

Yep--good times!

It tests for yeast and bacteria metabolites in the urine.

Rachel how much does just the basic OAT test cost? I tried signing up and seeing but their site is confusing...

Everyone is different. Me being highly toxic started out at 60 drops a day. So one bottle would last about 5 days. But I would buy the 3 pack and I signed up as a distributor to save 600 dollars a year. After 3 weeks I lowered it to 45 drops. Then after 2 weeks 30 drops. .

If I were you I would, maybe since you have one bottle about 30 drops a day 10 in the morning 10 at midday and 10 at night. If you don't feel any change you might need more.

the first time i took zeolite (3 drops liquid) i felt strangely high for a few mins.. then i got panic-y and went for a bike ride, which helped.. i will try uping the dosage now that i seem more accustomed to it. it's expensive though! one bottle cost me 50 bucks!!! from the health food store..

I use to take Nutramedix but didn't really see results. I know that it did constipate me some. I know it's a powder form. Carla have you seen any results with this type of powdered form of zeolite?

Liquid form of most anything is said to be more potent.. but i guess if this comes from volcanic rock or whatever it would make sense that the powder form would be stronger..

Okay I just heard from my GI's office...

waiting is definitely the worse.. i'm holding you in my thoughts!!

Have you guys ever thought of starting a supplement exchange program?? i mean.. we buy so many and often don't use them... might be more economical.. just an idea!!

no argument. Never take the pills sold for Nuclear events, except in a nuclear event when instructed to by authorities.  Some of these go up to 130 milligrams per pill. 5000 times the strength of the dietary supplement.  130 times the safe upper limit.  130 mg = 130,000 mcg. Dietary supplements like Lugol's Solution and Liquid Iodine are 50 micrograms per drop.  It takes 20 drops to reach the safe upper limit. In the US the Safe upper limit is 1100 mcg.  In Europe 600 mcg and in Japan 3000 mcg ( 3 mg).

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @JudyLou! There are a couple of things you might consider to help you in your decision that would not require you to do a gluten challenge. The first, that is if you have not had this test run already, is to request a "total IGA" test to be run. One of the reasons that celiac blood antibody tests can be negative, apart from not having celiac disease, that is, is because of IGA deficiency. If a person is IGA deficient, they will not respond accurately to the celiac disease blood antibody tests (such as the commonly run TTG-IGA). The total IGA test is designed to check for IGA deficiency. The total IGA test is not a celiac antibody test so I wouldn't think that a gluten challenge is necessary. The second is to have genetic testing done to determine if you have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease. About 30-40% of  the general population have the genetic potential but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. So, genetic testing cannot be used to diagnose celiac disease but it can be used to rule it out. Those who don't have the genetic potential but still have reaction to gluten would not be diagnosed with celiac disease but with NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity).  Another possibility is that you do have celiac disease but are in remission. We do see this but often it doesn't last.

Hi there, I’m debating whether to consider a gluten challenge and I’m hoping someone here can help with that decision (so far, none of the doctors have been helpful). I have a history of breaking out in a horrible, burning/itchy somewhat blistering rash about every 8 years. This started when I was in my early 30’s and at that point it started at the ankles and went about to my knees. Every time I had the rash it would cover more of my body, so my arms and part of my torso were impacted as well, and it was always symmetrical. First I was told it was an allergic reaction to a bug bite. Next I was told it was eczema (after a biopsy of the lesion - not the skin near the lesion) and given a steroid injection (didn’t help). I took myself off of gluten about 3 weeks before seeing an allergist, just to see if it would help (it didn’t in that time period). He thought the rash looked like dermatitis herpetiformis and told me to eat some bread the night before my blood tests, which I did, and the tests came back negative. I’ve since learned from this forum that I needed to be eating gluten daily for at least a month in order to get an accurate test result. I’m grateful to the allergist as he found that 5 mg of doxepin daily will eliminate the rash within about 10 days (previously it lasted for months whether I was eating gluten or not). I have been gluten free for about 25 years as a precaution and recommendation from my doctor, and the pattern of breaking out every 8 years or so remains the same except once I broke out after just one year (was not glutened as far as I know), and now it’s been over 9 years. What’s confusing to me, is that there have been 3 times in the past 2 years when I’ve accidentally eaten gluten, and I haven’t had any reaction at all. Once someone made pancakes (they said they were gluten-free, they were not) and I ate several. I need to decide whether to do a gluten challenge and get another blood test. If I do, are these tests really accurate? I’m also concerned that I could damage my gut in that process if I do have celiac disease. My brother and cousin both had lymphoma so that’s a concern regarding a challenge as well, though there is a lot of cancer in various forms in my family so there may be no gluten connection there. Sorry for the ramble, I’m just doubting the need to remain gluten free if I don’t have any reaction to eating it and haven’t had a positive test (other than testing positive for one of the genes, though it sounds like that’s pretty common). I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice!

Hello, just popped in my head to ask this question about medications and celiac? I have always had refurse reaction to meds since I can remember  of what little meds my body is able to tolerate. I was taking gabapentin 300mg for a week,  in past I believe 150? Any ways it amps me up not able to sleep, though very tired. However I did notice it helped with my bloating sibo belly.I hate that my body is that sensitive and medical doesn't seem to take seriously. Im STILL healing with my skin, eye, and now ms or meningioma ( will know in April  which)and dealing with this limbo nightmare. I did write my name, address ect on the reclamation but im not tech savvy and not sure if went through properly. I called my city representative in Stanislaus County and asked if theres a physical paper i can sign for proclamation for celiac and she had no clue about what I was saying, so I just said I'll go back on website.
    • Scott Adams
I'm not saying that some celiacs won't need it, but it should be done under a doctor's supervision because it can cause lots of problems in some people.
