i have no clue, just sometimes you can barely see through it...i'm not taking any support, i'm going to see the bioset woman soon so hopefully i'll get a better idea and see because i feel very sensitive....i'm in some dilemma though, i feel like when i drink a lot, my body feels paralyzed and i can't stop crying randomly...i feel like my body can't even handle that, could be my liver right? once that is helped, i'm sure i won't be as reactant and will be able to handle a lot more

for some reason i'm ALWAYS thirsty/hungry....it's more like cravings though, but just from the cravings i could probably drink and eat endlessly and still feel empty/queezy, yet since i'm dealing with these things, feel bloated at the same time because like i said, it's more craving, not hunger...that's more of a recent thing, same with my body not being able to handle much, so probably my liver between whatever the dye did....i've been sick for 12 months, yet before the die which was about 10 months, i had no appetite at all, which would have made things easier! haha

the thing is, i just feel like my body couldn't handle feeling worst...like a herx/die-off/overload, so it's probably good to help a few things before anything, right? i couldn't deal with neuro symptoms getting worst or anything, it scares me...it just dazzles me how i've been sick for only a year and i'm young, yet have more symptoms than some people who are untreated for years lol, got hit with it all at once which is horrible yet good in a way

i'm not taking any supplements, so probably i'm dehydrated in SOME sense

Sounds like liver. You could try acupuncture. This helps calm the automic nervous system and might help with your symptoms until you can get into bioset.

Sherry,

I am glad your malabsorption score is normal now. I bet that really makes you happy.

Anybody take glutathione? That is one of the new supps I am starting. Is it okay to continue my other supps along with?

I take a liquid liposomal glutathione...my LLMD still wants me on this...I've been taking it for about almost a year. I take it along with all my other stuff.

Or what about slathering it with melted chocolate

Another good suggestion.

Thanks, yes. I had been so very discouraged and sometimes was just *sure* it was going to be worse than last year!

It's such a major change, with the actual things I did last year being primarily dietary change plus a few things to help heal the gut (three supplements), that it cements in my own mind my celiac diagnosis.

Especially when I also restarted the heavier drug regimen 6 weeks after going gluten-free when the lyme relapsed, and this would tend to mess things up in the intestinal balance area at least.

I still have a long way to go, but this has been a bright light of hope when I really needed it.

Carla, sorry about the babs return, hope the M does the trick and without a lot of down time.

Yes, it is hard to be thinking of going to China with my daughter making plans. She and her fiance are both very laid back, so they are going to wait a year to get married so they can enjoy the whole process. The hard part is I will likely be in China when it is time to shop for her dress. ):

Thank you. I think the Malarone is working! I felt only about 85% yesterday and slept till 9:40 today, which must be due to herxing. I've been waking up lately 7:30-8. I haven't done much yet, so the jury is still out on how I feel today. I'm thinking I'm feeling pretty good. I woke right up.

Speaking of sleep, I've been sleeping a lot better. We've been focusing on detoxing and adrenals, which I think is what has helped. I'm taking 5HTP, Melatonin, and a half-Ambien at night. I wake up once and fall right back to sleep. I wake right up in the morning.

I wouldn't be able to do what you do Sherry. :) Maybe for a year or two ..... How long have you been living in China?

I have a prescription glutathione cream. The jury's still out.

My doc said glutathione is sometimes hard to work unless done by iv. To save money he said we could try this one to see.

Try which one, the cream?

Glutathione cream is supposed to be effective (not just any, I have a prescription one from the same manufacturers of the IV), but taking oral glutathione is what I've read to be questionable.

I was told to take the cream when I'm symptomatic to help my body detox to eliminate symptoms. So, when my knees hurt, or I have another symptom, I use the cream. The pain goes away, but I don't know if it would just go away on its own.

Plus, the coffee enemas force the body to produce glutathione. I take NAC and undenatured whey protein, so I have the raw materials for my body to make it.

So, I don't really know how much the cream is doing for me since I think I don't really have glutathione problems anyway.

The Liposomal Glutathione I take is also supposed to be more effective than the run of the mill glutathione. My doctor said that it also helps with detox issues somehow.

I may have found a Bioset person but I thought that was more about food allergies??? Maybe I should check that out first?

He said according to the CDC I wouldn't be positive. I said that I didn't trust the CDC's criteria for that. He agreed but maybe that is what he is worried about.

April, I am not as familiar with Bioset as the Bioscan (EAV) testing so Rachel, Donna, and some of the others that have done Bioset will have to weigh in on it.

The EAV Bioscan is based on acupuncture principles and looks at the body as a whole, it determines the stressors, deficiencies, etc and then balances all the body systems with the supplements that test the strongest.

well, I figured it would be easier to skip trying all the alternative suggestions to put on weight and go straight for some staples like cheesecake and pizza... don't know why nobody suggested that B)

went up to the risotteria on Sunday so everything was gluten-free, but certainly not dairy-free, low in carbs, or good for candida... considering it was the first time I've eaten out in 2 years (which was incidentally also the last time I had dairy) and that I ate a number of different items available (breadsticks, meatballs, some chicken risotto meal, a little pizza, cheesecake, brownie) for dinner and then with a couple meals later that night, it was surprising how little I've reacted this week, relatively speaking...

Sounds good! What is this risotteria you are speaking of? I wish we had something like that in my area.

Glad that you weren't overly reactive to all the things you ate.

Yeah it's funny how we can react to some of the healthiest of things and not so much to the unhealthier items, or things you would think would definitely cause a reaction ends up not being so bad.

I can have awful reactions to fresh fruit, or dried fruit, and have zero reaction to ice cream

Yep, that's me. I am using the small laser pointer. It is just a normal red laser pointer, with a little piece of plastic tubing which she cut herself it looks like, about an inch or a bit more, it slides on the end of the pointer and I put a little vial of water down into a hole in the tubing so that the laser points through the vial and makes a line of light instead of one point.

I go up and down with this on my throat, behind my ears and back of the head/neck while swallowing, rubbing my tongue along my upper palatte, and sucking on a straw plus swallowing. Supposed to do 2-3 times a day, 3 minutes each. I haven't quite got that down yet

Thanks for the info about this, sounds really interesting.

I have a lot of symptoms in my throat, tongue, and mouth- mostly swelling and tons of thick mucous all over and then swelling, bumps/sores on my tongue and tissue inside my mouth. The swelling and mucous make it hard to swallow a lot of the time.

Thank you. I think the Malarone is working!

This is good news Carla! If you do have a low it doesn't seem to take you down as low as in the past. Your lows sound generally manageable :) .

I'm also focusing on detox and adrenals for the time being.

My sauna was repaired and its up and running finally, took my first sauna this morning, it felt really good.

Carla, are you still taking detox baths also? I was just curious if you did detox baths and saunas on the same day?

CarlaB Enthusiast

Julie, my lows are definitely no where near what they were before! This Malarone is really hitting me hard, so I know it was babs coming back. But, I'm fully functional at about 85% of normal. I'm glad I didn't wait to tell my doc about the air hunger! I'm taking it easy today ... it's a snow day so the kids are home. we're just vegging out. I'm finishing framing all those pictures I bought frames for a couple weeks ago.

I do not still take the baths. I felt the baths were good for getting toxins out, but the saunas would pull toxins from the tissue. In my mind the sauna is a deeper detox. When I was highly symptomatic during a herx, a sauna was too much, but I'd feel better from the baths, so that is when I did them. My LLMD wants me doing the saunas daily right now since our focus is on detox. So, I've been in there 30 min. per day, every day.

He has me taking an oral version. I don't know much about this subject. I take NAC and sometimes do the Ecoffee. Wonder if I need to stop taking the NAC?

It's a good thing you did mention the air hunger.

A snow day sounds like fun, do you usually get this kind of weather there? We haven't had the snow like we did last year.

I'm still suppose to do the baths, not just for detox but it's also a great source of Mag and other minerals. I've got to work up with the sauna, it might take me a while to get up to 30 minutes again

CarlaB Enthusiast

Yeah, this is typical weather ... very typical, snow, then ice on top of it! We don't get snow like you do ... we get a little then it melts.

It takes time to work up on the sauna. I was doing the baths on my own, my LLMD didn't mention them.

Carla,

When you went to NY...and I'm assuming you took all your meds, etc. with you. Did you have any problems getting through security with herbal tinctures, etc.? Should I call Dr H and get a note?

CarlaB Enthusiast

You have to either be able to fit the herbal tinctures in a one quart ziploc bag, or put them in your checked suitcase. A doctor's note will not help, they are considered supplements. No bottle can be larger than three ounces. Your prescription meds can be in any size clear ziploc bag, they have to let you take those through.

Hi All.

I had a good visit with J and Dr. H this week.

I did a Glutithione shot. I had a anxious head rush and had a terrible flare in all my symptoms for two days. I don't know if this was a good thing or not? Some supposedly get lots of energy and clear mind when they get these but not for me. Oh well.

I will be treated for co-inf as well. I dont' want to post too many details.

It's all a bit overwhelming for me as cognitive functioning is at an all time low right now. I can't wait to get some of the labs work done so I can start treatment.

Take care everyone

I'm feeling much better after my meltdown last night. Thanks Carla and Kassandra! :) Must have been going through one heckuva yeastie die off.

Today's day 4 of the anti-candida/non-smoking thing and it seems to be "purging day". Honestly, I can't stay off the potty for more than an hour at a time. If its not #1 its #2. And really cut down on the chia seeds yesterday, so its not that. I'm drinking a lot of water, but then I usually do.

Has anyone else gone though a "flush" (pun sort of intended) when they've done the candida diet?

CarlaB Enthusiast

That was quite a spectacular meltdown yesterday! Good job!

I have made an observation, my husband is much more of a jerk than normal when I'm herxing. I wonder why that is???

I hope your cookies are yummy and offer a little comfort :)

Aw, well keep trying :) Baby steps, as with everything being chronically ill, and soon you might be able to do something for 15 minutes.

Sorry about your melt down.

I haven't experienced a "flush" as you call it  My body holds on to everything

I might sweat a little bit and maybe urinate a little more when I am experiencing detox/cleansing symptoms but that's about it.

Sounds like you are just really clearing things out :)

Wait, did I miss posts? ..... must go back and read over to find this meltdown.

That is a very good point I do not know if they truly ever went down. With my nutrient levels all being good, CBC, metabolic panel I assumed everything was fine over the years. Now Im worried this is refractory celiac or something else
    • RMJ
I don’t know how common it is, but it happens.  Total IgA going up is not necessarily celiac related.  The body can make IgA antibodies against all sort of things.   But if I understand correctly that until recently you haven’t had a celiac blood test since diagnosis, how do you know that your recent blood tests are a mild rise, vs never going down to the normal range? That also can happen, although not too common. Some people with celiac disease do react even to purity protocol certified gluten free oats. Removing oats from your diet for a few months and retesting is probably a good idea.
    • thejayland10
interesting I did not know that was that common or could take that long.  When I was diagnosed 15 yrs ago I was told just follow gluten-free diet and follow up with primary care doctor (who never checked celiac panel again). I felt way better and all the major symptoms went away. It wasn't until recently at 25 (14 yrs after diagnosis) that I thought to follow up with a gastro doctor who then did a celiac panel and noted those minor elevations 3 months ago then I got them checked again by another doctor the other week and were showing roughly the same thing.  I am very strict with what I eat and dieitican was maybe thinking it could be oat flour. I do eat a fair amount of processed food but I will not touch anything unless it is certified gluten free.  Do you see this pretty commonly with others? Having mild rises in TTG IGA and IGA who have been on gluten-free diet for years?
    • RMJ
Do you have any other results from either of the two labs where you’ve been tested recently?  If so, are the newest results from that lab elevated over previous results? It took me 5 years to get all of my antibodies into the normal range. Then 3 years later one went up into the positive range.  I realized that I had started baking with a different brand of gluten free flour.  When I stopped using that flour the level went back to normal.  Has something changed in your diet, environment, activities, medications or other areas where you could possibly be exposed to gluten?
    • thejayland10
Thank you for the clarifcation, how can I get to the bottom of this as to why they may be elevated even on a super strict gluten-free diet?
