Is she all right? Does anyone know what happened to her? And why did she clear all her posts?

Haven't been able to get anyone at her place.

I think she cleared her stuff long before she left the board. It was after R2 split off from here.

Are we still talking McDonalds and Taco Bell? :P:lol:

 Seriously, I haven't eaten most of that food in many years, long before I got sick I quit eating it because it tasted like chemicals to me, not food.

Nuggets w/ almonds

Oh daaaaaah-yum!!

After 1.5 yrs w/ nary a thought of indulging in chocolate (Nuggs w/ Alm a former object of most severe rachelization :P ), I was visiting the 2 little cuties from the recent sillythread story over Halloween. (Kind of a tradition - they've never carved a pumpkin w/out me and older one is 11) :)

I'd been feeling pretty good and had had 0 reaction when I trepiditiously sampled a nickel-sized bit of well-done mozzarella off their pizza a couple days b4 all-hallows-eve.

So on the big night, being surrounded by all that chocolatey aroma, and w/ thoughts of the very recent positive experiment dancing in my head like sugarplums, I rationalized that another experiment IS a good idea.:ph34r:

Looking at me after just one bite-sized Hershey's you'd think a long-lost distant uncle had made me a multi-millionaire!! (And Scarlett Johanssen & Lauren Graham were fighting over me  ):)

Tempting as it was, I didn't have any more, as it was more important to find out what the day-after would be like.

Travel day and all is dandy. Except the temptation is huge and the data says a little didn't harm.

ASAP I was off to Safeway then promptly heading home w/ those mahvelous Nuggets w/ Almonds. <drool>

I'd take 3 or 4 out of the bag, and put the bag away. <chomp chomp ecstasy chomp>

Referring to an older Tzu-sie post, I *wish* I had a neighbor or sibling who'd let me store the bag there!

Open cupbd, get two, sit back down, eat two, think about them for 5-30min. Repeat.

:P:lol:

It was the next day or so I re-discovered one of the most curious (post-gluten-free diet) symptoms. The milk in them makes me feel as if I'm living in 3rd person, more a spectator than participant. Very strange, unnerving, disturbing etc.

Haven't had 'em since. (ok ok enough w/ the 3rd degree!! I did "test" them again sheesh!! )

Mmmmmmm Nuggets :o:P

Dear tom,

I know! It is odd I have not done a rotation diet yet. I need to. That is what I am going to do this coming few weeks. I am in the midst of planning it out. I know pure foods are the most important ones for this type of thing.

Yeah, my parents pretty much defy all logic. They make absolutely no sense. No tennis court or anything I am afraid.

That would look better. Plus, we could charge people for admission to play! :)

Yes, the Always commercial is rant-worthy. I suppose most men would not feel that way! If you experience what we do, that would change! Women all over the country think that is the most idiotic saying in a commercial in a long time! Maybe one day the people that make them will get a clue!

I will keep the posts the way they are, then. That works for me. Either way is fine! :P I do not care one way or the other. Whichever is best for everyone else! :)

Dear Lisa,

The fat is a possibility. I always buy extra lean ground beef. I have to. Even it has fat in it. You have to be careful if your system is screwed up really bad. I know mine is! :(

I understand you would want to take it easy between amalgam removals. That process is hard on you. I know Rachel can help you get through this. I am anxious for you to see a Naturopath. I think if you see one before your next removal, you might be able to start feeling a bit better and tolerate the rest of the process better. :)

Dear Alison,

I have no idea why Floridian got rid of her posts. That is weird. Did she think they were silly maybe? I do not have a clue. I am glad you are able to post, though. We missed you! ;)

Dear Susie,

That list looks a lot like mine! Junk food galore! I love chocolate particularly! The cookies sound especially great, too! Hot and fresh from the oven are the best ones! Ultimate iced fudge brownies with sprinkles are delicious, too!

Sincerely,

Jin

Dear tom,

I know! It is odd I have not done a rotation diet yet. . . . . . I am in the midst of planning it out.

I think one very important aspect to making a food/symptom diary successful is to make it very easy and convenient and always w/ u.

A standard notebook won't be w/ u when you're out.

I liked the mini-composition books (~4"x3"); the kind w/ marbley cover). And my short race-track pencil.

Nope, you are here for our entertainment. You men may vote amongst yourselves, but it has no weight in Rachelville. You will need to fight for men's suffrage.

I suffer every day, Does that not count for any thing. :(

Hope every one had a good Fathers day.

The boys and I had a great time. We were up at 5:00am and out the door just after 6:00. Had to stop on the way and pick up my oldest son on the way. He had gotten off work at 2:30am and drove half way to our town to wait for us. Sleeping in his car until we got there. Of course I was on fishing mode and took the wrong exit and almost missed him. My youngest son reminded me we needed to go get him. So back on the freeway and to the next exit to get him. Finely we get to hit the road again and got to the lake just after 7:00am.

Now I love to fish as do the boys, my oldest son, youngest son, and one of my son-in-laws. But it is cold and raining and I forgot my pain pills so I am about as miserable as I can be. But hey I am fishing so deal with it. Ok my oldest son catches the first one and then the contest is really on. As the day goes on my oldest some realizes that he left his Mothers camera in his car, ( my ex ) back at the gas station where we picked him up. Then about 3 seconds later he realizes he also left his keys in the ignition and the doors don't lock, Oh well we werent going to stop fishing just for that. By that time it was either going to be there or it was going to be gone.

So as the days goes on the crap talk between the boys gets deeper and deeper. The challenges get more and more. Me I am just sitting there minding my own business getting a good laugh at it all the more it goes on. So as it is now way past noon and the rain has finely stopped and the sun is starting to come out the boys are all starting to shed the warmer clothing. Me I am still cold and hurting and hardly moving. But know you need to understand my youngest son is 6'2" or 6'3" and 225lb or more. There is what use to be an old boat ramp that I have been stepping on to to cast all day. Me I am about 5'9" or 5'10" and 190lb. So my youngest son is getting ready to cast from my little spot as I am just getting up to do the same thing. Now what is left of this ramp is about 3 feet wide maybe. So I step up beside him so he is on my right side and just as I thought he scoots over to give me a little more room. Well me being the trouble maker I am, I waited until he was just getting ready to cast and was not real balanced and just gave him a little nudge with my elbow. It was just enough to get him to teeter, and toter, and then in the water he went. Woops....... oh I am sorry, for some reason he did not believe me though. By this time I was laughing so hard I was about to pee my pants. Well the other boys thought is was real funny also. But it did not stop there because instead of going after me for doing it and laughing so hard he went after the other 2 boys and the fight was on, ( playing ). They all 3 ended up wet for heat to toe and I got some real good laughs.

So we all got back to fishing and letting them all dry out so we could get in the truck and go home. The boys caught most of the fish, I ended up with 2 on the stringer. But hey I lost the most gear, and got tangled up the most. It was just a great day. I never knew trying not to catch fish could be so hard, ;)

Oh yea and we got back to where my son had his car parked and all was still there. Lucky he caught the first and last fish of the day, and still had a car to drive home.

Hope you all had as nice as day as I did.

When in Willow Glen which coffee place do u 2 walk to? I'd guess it's her "usual" and that it's almost certainly Peet's or Starbucks (either in that order or depending on which is slightly closer) but I swear the WGCRC (CoffeeRoastingCo) is far superior in all ways. :P :P

They even have 2 or 3 "coffees of-the-day to choose from besides the non-rotating other 4 or 5!!

JIN,

Cheez-its, I can't believe you brought up CHEEZ-ITS. I want some so bad now.

Rachel,

Yeah Scott actually did get a hold of me. He really hopes that I am seeing a dentist that isn't screwing up my system more. I think that my dentist is good. I am hoping. I mean I have never been through this before so I don't know.

The pain radiates actually on the whole left side of the abdomel and lower right side. I am wondering if this is where most of the mercury is stored and that's why I am so constipated.

It also makes the most noise here when I get molded.

Barbara.

Miralax is a no go. To weak. but thank you for the advise.

Parasites, parasites. Those darn free loaders.

Talking about sweets, since I am latina I really miss pan dulce. MEXICAN SWEET BREAD.

Oh yeah, we use to do that to the cheeze when I use to work at IN N OUT burger. We would scrap the grill that had leftover cheese and eat it. In N OUT cheese is the bomb. We also would throw the buns in the fryer and fry them and then put sugar on them.

Lisa-

I know i have said this before but you really need to LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!! If it is telling you something is not right for you, at least for right now listen!!

you have to be careful when taking anythign that causes toxins to break up , and be released. While you want this to happen if you are not excreting them properly you are just freeing them up to play havoc in your system. Sinc eyou suffer from constipation this could very likely be happening to you and adding to your discomfort.

This is why it is so important to be under the care of a good doctor or naturapath, or whatever who really knows this stuff and can work with you.

Mia

You seem really fustrated with me. I know Mia I'm sorry. It's just that all this is new to me. I don't really know what it means about listening to your body and things. I guess when I get use to it, it will be more easy for me to answer my own questions.

Lisa

Yesterday was bad pain and today is brain fog. Can't concentrate long enough to do all the reading to catch up but wanted to pop in and say hi! TOTALLY brain dead.

Oh my goodness!

My new naturopath just called me at home. I have an appointment with her on Monday and I can't wait. She sounds so assuring. I am so happy I can scream. I told her my situation and asked her if it's true about her having mercury toxicity. She said "Oh yeah."

Then I said that I still have 6 fillings to take out. She goes " OMG, OMG, I know this doctor and he is the best, I will even drive you there myself. He has been doing this for 20 years," I then interrupted her and said, " Dr. Garabiedian?"

She said YES! So then I told her I was seeing him already. It was smooth sailing for her when she got hers out. Not for me I told her I have been getting sicker.

She wanted to know what nutrition and supplements I was on while getting my teeth worked on. I said none. The naturopath I went to before put me on none. She said that's why I have been sicker. That's why my body has been crashing. She says I need these things before getting my teeth fixed.

Bad part is I told her about my constipation. She want me to take MAGNESIUM CITRATE[/b!! Can you believe it. I told her diarrhea and is their mold in it. She said no citrate is a binding agent or something and I will hear gurgling noises and food breaking up inside but I need to not be constipated and get things out.

She said that we are going to get you better and she can't wait to see me on monday. How nice of her to call me at home. I feel so happy today. She also told me to drink apple juice or prunes. I said what about the candida she says that it's there because of the mercury but I

should be ok with a little apple juice or prunes.

She says that they will get me to feeling a lot better and that it's a good thing that I don't have another dentist appointment till July 12. Guys I feel so happy today. But not about taking Magnesium Citrate. Maybe I should take half of teaspoon and not a tablespoon this time. <_<

Thank you guys for hoping and praying I would find a good doctor. I have a good feeling about this one.

Villi damage is caused by celiac disease, which does not happen in NCGS, although some people with NCGS do have elevated antibody levels. Some people with NCGS who have the genes for celiac disease may end up developing celiac disease, so in some people NCGS may be a precursor to celiac disease, but more research needs to be done on NCGS. Both low iron and vitamin D are common symptoms of celiac disease. Also, regarding beer:

It’s true that some vaccines contain small amounts of preservatives, stabilizers, or adjuvants to ensure their safety and effectiveness. For example: Thimerosal: A preservative that contains ethylmercury (not to be confused with methylmercury, which is toxic). Most routine vaccines no longer contain thimerosal, except for some flu vaccines in multi-dose vials. Aluminum: Used in very small amounts as an adjuvant to boost the immune response. The amount is far below levels considered harmful, but if you suspect an aluminum allergy, it’s worth discussing with your doctor. Sugar alcohols: These are sometimes used as stabilizers, but they are generally well-tolerated. If you have a known intolerance, you can ask about specific ingredients in each vaccine. Since you mentioned an intolerance to metals and jewelry, it’s a good idea to follow up with allergy testing, as you planned. This can help identify specific metals (e.g., nickel, aluminum) to avoid. Your doctor can then guide you on whether any vaccine ingredients might be a concern. Since the Mayo Clinic has already identified potential allergies, it might be helpful to consult an allergist or immunologist. They can review your medical history, perform tests, and provide personalized advice on vaccines and their ingredients. While it’s important to address your intolerances, it’s also worth considering the risks of not being vaccinated. Many vaccine-preventable diseases can have serious consequences, especially for those with underlying health conditions.

@Manaan2, I was on Miralax for several months after I crushed three vertebrae and fractured my hip.  The compression fractures of my vertebrae affected the Vagus nerve that stimulates digestion and intestinal movement, peristalsis. Miralax just didn't relieve the constipation I was experiencing at all.  Nothing budged.  I tried Milk of Magnesia (magnesium oxide) which pulls water into the digestive tract, and found that rather harsh and dehydrating.   Bad idea. I was already taking thiamine in various forms, Benfotiamine, TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl  disulfude), Lipothiamine and Allithiamine.  Click on my name, then Activities in the pull down menu to get to my blog to learn more about my journey with thiamine.   Since we need more thiamine when we are physically ill and emotionally stressed, I decided to focus on TTFD,  Benfotiamine, and magnesium l-threonate.  Within a week of increasing my doses a bit, my constipation was gone.  It took several more months to heal the compressed nerve damage.  For pain, I take a combination of TTFD, Pyridoxine B 6, and  Cobalamine B12 which together have an analgesic effect.  I can't function with pharmaceutical pain killers, besides they cause constipation.   Mechanisms of action of vitamin B1 (thiamine), B6 (pyridoxine), and B12 (cobalamin) in pain: a narrative review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35156556/ Yes, I did just stop the Miralax, but I wasn't on it as long as your daughter.  Yes, there's a difference between adults and children.  Yes, my circumstances were different than your daughter's, but thiamine deficiency does affect the nerves and the brain.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function (which activates the Vagus nerve and controls digestion).   I recommend you visit Dr. Chandler Marrs' website, hormonesmatter.com.  Dr. Marrs worked with Dr. Derrick Longsdale, a pioneer in thiamine research, specifically with children and autism spectrum disorders.  She has been very helpful to me when I reached out to her.  She would be better able to guide you about your daughter's care. https://hormonesmatter.com/sibo-ibs-constipation-thiamine-deficiency/#google_vignette Do stay in touch, please.  You can start another thread or personal message me any time.  My heart goes out to you, your husband, and especially your daughter.   Namaste
    • Manaan2
@knitty kitty  The information you've provided is invaluable!  I have a lot more homework to do before we make the official switch but you have significantly increased my hope that we can get her off Miralax (she started at 3 years old and is almost 8!).  This weekend my husband and I plan to solidify all the details for a start point, then adjust as we go along.  I realize that everyone's body is different, then there's also the fact that she's a child but just out of curiosity if you don't mind sharing and if you'd rather not, no problem at all-how long did you take Miralax before switching and when you switched, did you just completely stop the Miralax or was there a period where you did Miralax and the supplements?  I plan to research that piece this weekend but just curious what you did.
    • BIg Nodge
Scott, thanks so much for the thoughtful replies. My doctor did actually just re-order thyroid labs to see what is going on with my TPOs. I agree that will be interesting information.  I think I know the answer to this, but as far as the biopsy . . .. that would be quite conclusive as far as celiac goes, but a negative result would not rule out NCGS, correct? Does NCGS also cause damage to the lower intestine/leaky gut?  I appreciate the thought that I should be open-minded to other causes. I did not have dysautonomia on my radar, so I will look into that. From a quick scan at the potential symptoms it seems like almost anyone could convince themselves they have it, very broad! I can see why that is a tricky one to diagnose. I did also show low vitamin D, I'm in New England so that is somewhat common. I have a memory of low iron on some lab result as well but I can't find it, so I'll look into that. My cholesterol is high too, so working on that.  While the initial adjustment was tough, I have actually adapted fairly well to going gluten-free at home. The tough part for me is I love eating out and traveling, so that has been a challenge. I suppose if the answer ends up being NCGS then I could maintain a mostly gluten-free diet but also experiment with the occasional splurges. Snowboarding just doesn't feel right without a beer in the lodge . . ... cider is just not the same!  Thanks again.
