Gluten Free Lipsticks

Ive been on a mission to find out what lipsticks are gluten free as I am an avid lipstick fanatic. I recently read about Avon, Lancome, OPI, and bennefit being gluten free. Can anyone add to this list? I know that the Burts Bees lip shimmers are gluten-free. I happen to love Rimmel, does anyone know about this one? Or others?

Please share.

Steph

Hi Steph

NARS says all thier lipsticks and glosses are gluten free but they are kind of expensive. also if you call MAC most of their lipsticks are gluten free- they will tell you over the phone which ones are.

Cover Girl Outlast.

I used to love expensive lipsticks until I had to buy this for my daughter's dance competitions. I don't like the gloss it comes with, but you can use any other gluten-free lip gloss instead.

CoverGirl and Bare Escentuals...some Maybelline I have heard is ok. The Delphi list has some information about lipsticks. It is a bit older but it still works as a good guideline

As I said in the other thread, most Neutrogena lip products are gluten-free.

All Smashbox Cosmetics are gluten-free.

All Ecco Bella *cosmetics* are gluten-free. (Some of their other products contain gluten)

I was told by the company (via email) that all Bare Escentual Lip Products are gluten-free, but I would still check on individual products. I've heard of people getting differing answers from them.

Some of cliniques are!

Garden Botanika lipsticks are. The customer service rep. confirmed it. She checked every ingredient and made sure it wasn't made from any form of gluten. It took her a month to confirm that the lipstick was gluten free, but everytime she found out an ingredient was gluten free she would email me and let me know. Anyone who goes through this much trouble, deserves my business.

I tend to mostly use MAC lipsticks.

I also love Fresh - Sugar Lip Balm. Actually I love all of Fresh's skincare. The Sugar Face Polish is heaven; and the Umbrian Face Clay is awesome! I could keep going, LOL!! I love their stuff.

There's also a company called 'Arbon' or 'Lame Advertisement' or something like that...

all their makeup is gluten-free!

I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for any info I can get on cosmetics. Being in my 40's I've become more interested in finding really good quality cosmetics - and I've become really careful about only using gluten-free cosmetics (or trying to!). I know only gluten that is ingested is supposed to be of concern (and that was the exact answer I received from Cover Girl when I wrote asking about their cosmetics), but after happily using a new foundation (light, good coverage, nice tone) I started getting new break-outs, itchy-watery eyes, headaches, and worst of all, a nerve twitch underneath my right eye (eliminated use of product = symptoms went away). Now I err on the side of caution, rather than take the chance. Any cosmetic / hygiene product information anyone has gathered for sharing is most appreciated. I now rely a lot on Bare Escentuals because I heard they were gluten-free but would love to be able to use a couple of my old standbys. (aveda volumizing spray? Salon Grafix hair spray? Maybelline mascara?)

Hi and welcome! :)

I know that Maybelline Mascara has wheat germ oil in it  Sorry, I don't know about the other 2 products.

Hi @knitty kitty just covering back to this topic. I appreciate everyone’s help. Dairy was definitely adding to some of my issues but I wanted to ask about histamine. When I was working with my dietician I mentioned I got a stuffy nose when I was eating strawberries which I had just noticed one day in particular. Once I looked more into this I realized that histamine peaks at night and can cause insomnia exactly as I had been describing before. Working with her I realized while I wasn’t eating a lot of high histamine foods, I was eating a lot of histamine triggering or releasing like bananas (I was having several a day) and strawberries. Also some nights are worse than others but I also discovered meat sitting out even for a day can increase in histamines especially salmon which I eat quite a lot of even though I thought I was getting it fresh. Just wanted to know your thoughts and I’m just curious how this ties into celiac and leaky gut.

I noticed eating gluten-free or CGF foods have higher sugar and sodium some. No added sugar protein bars I found better with plant fiber. I wanted to know what are you go to besides whole fruits/veggies that you find are healthy for you where you can feel eating normal without hurting yourself or health. I was looking into subscription based like Thrift to see if there is something that is healthier CGF that can make me feel normal. Thanks
