I think we've probably dissuaded 1) anyone with scatological aversions, 2) anyone that thinks authority should be respected, and 3) anyone named Edna.

gahhhhhh   I think she's pinpointed it - we'd have sooooooooo many more contributors if we hadn't scared the Ednas......

I've been left alone . . . . . . with the children!!!! Have started drinking so it's not so bad now.

Speaking of drinking... Going to a party at my best friend's house tomorrow night! TWO parties in one month, holy crap.:rolleyes: Last month was for her b-day, this time it's my turn. (The party's a little early, my b-day's later this week.) I think we're going to run over to her neighbor's house too, who's having a Cinco De Mayo party, live music, etc... I can't wait!

My 30th birthday party... Kids will be at my mom's.... Yeah, I plan on getting tipsy. Oh hell, who am I kidding? Tipsy? Please. Let's see, which word would be most appropriate for an unprecedentedly silly thread on a public forum?

I had a dream last night that I made an (impromptu) visit to Emily's (as you do....just pop on a plane to Ottowa  )

Man!,...Em was NOT best pleased to see me....she was quite embarrased by my arrival!!

Emily had a VERY big palatial house (with servants) and spoke with a VERY posh accent!

She asked me through gritted teeth to ''go away!!!!''

GADS!! :o

What does it all mean???

Is Emily both rich AND posh but holding out on us?:lol:

Eldest son got a letter today requesting him for jury duty at The Old Bailey no less (the central criminal court for England in central London)

Gaaaawd help the British justice system if they want the opinion of an 18 yr old!!

Happy weekend sillies!!!!!!

You guys, I am soooo addicted to a new song! It's Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. I listened to some other songs from the album, and they're not really my cup of tea. But I can't stop listening to that one song, over and over.

WOW!!! I am simply thrilled that I have made it into a Silly's dream! Quelle Honeur!! And I was a stinking rich b!tch! And POSH?!! Whoa......

If I were to be placed in a role, a scenario, the farthest possible away from my reality, that would be about it. I was incredibly rude to you, Nikki - -the very nerve of me! I must arrange to dream about you tonight, arriving in Ottawa, when I'll meet you at the airport with a bottle of champagne and tickets to a boat trip down the Rideau Canal, followed by dinner and drinks and a comfy bed in my small, humble bungalow. Then I should like to head back over to London with you and hang there for a while.

I LOVE living vicariously through my dreams! <_<:lol:

Listen, why don't YOU hop on this magic plane to Ottawa, as well...champagne and French absinthe waiting for all at the airport, several spots on the canal boat tour, and...well.....a few couches in my house on which to crash. And it's perfect timing, as our Jazz Festival begins tomorrow, I believe....some big outdoor shows. :):)

Hi Sillies Hi hi HI!! :)

I'm seemingly doing better each day.

QUICK POST!

Who's watching the Kentucky Derby???

Post Time = 14min @6:04 EST (EDT? Bah whatever!)

I never decide before seeing the upcoming post parade, but so far I'm leaning twds Pyro, #9.

I hate to just go w/ the favoUrite.

Could be interesting if he wins tho, coming from all the way out @ the 20 hole.

BRB!!

tom Contributor

Re: my impromptu depression - I wonder if the LaraBars were a factor. I *did* test one flavor days before the trip, but had two others Sunday on the drive back.

The timing fits but it seems too drastic a mental change for 2 little bars.

Hmmmm .... .dates were a new ingred for me.

**DERBY!!!!**

All y'all pulling for the filly? (Hey! Where's Peter?? We could use some Oracling of the Trifecta)

Grrrrr they barely showed the post parade enough. But the favoUrite, Big Brown, IS impressive looking.

I missed seeing Colonel John!

Quick trifecta box: 20, 9, 11

Aaaaaaaaagh too many horses! one in the middle teens looked good .. .was that 16? 17? Aaaaaaaaargh

Uh-oh .. ...flight doesn't land until 11:45pm your time.

I'll just get a cab. Leave a key under the 3rd rock by the 2nd bush to the right??

OHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Big Brown gets The Roses!!

And the filly gets second!

 Janet's Canadians

tom Contributor

Ohhhhhh :( nooooooooooooooooooo :(

Wish I'd never mentioned the derby now :(

(Can I edit-erase all of it before anyone sees?)

After the finish line, a horse broke 2 ankles and had to be put down. :(

Hi I've been told I need a MRI on my bowels , I was booked for a colonoscopy, but because of my sever back issues and trapped nerve it can't be done , the nurse told me I will have to have a manitol drink a hour before the scan , I'm just a bit worried has I have issues with sweeteners like even a little,  I get a weird throat and ears and I've read it is a similar substance , not sure if anyone has had one of these scans or could give me some advise on the drink prep thanks in advance 😄

Hi all ! Can a celiac attack be so intense that it causes your entire body to work in reverse? Meaning really bad pain,  neuropathy and muscle,  jaw pain,  the stomach issues , Horrible anxiety and confusion??  I had a Tums and you would think I ate poison. My jaw and stomach did not like it . Not the norm for me. Things that are simple are just out of control. Anyone ever have this happen??  I'm trying to figure out what I ate or did to bring on a celiac like attack. I had an idea before but yesterday I didn't have any gluten unless it was in a medication ?! Any positive suggestions ??  Thank you
    • Scott Adams
The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.
    • trents
Tammy, in the food industry, "gluten free" doesn't mean the same thing as "no gluten". As Scott explained, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) allows food companies to use the "gluten-free" label as long as the product does not contain more than 20 ppm (parts per million) of gluten. This number is based on studies the FDA did years ago to determine the reaction threshold for those with celiac disease. And the 20 ppm figure works for the majority of celiacs. There are those who are more sensitive, however, who still react to that amount. There is another, stricter standard known as "Certified Gluten Free" which was developed by a third party organization known as GFCO which requires not more than 10 ppm of gluten. So, when you see "GFCO" or "Certified Gluten Free" labels on food items you know they are manufactured with a stricter standard concerning gluten content. Having said all that, even though you may read the disclaimer on a food item that says the spices may contain wheat, barley or rye (the gluten grains), you should be able to trust that the amount of gluten the spices may contain is so small it allows the total product to meet the requirements of gluten free or certified gluten free labeling. I hope this helps.
