Anybody else wondering why Bev knows her BIL's . . . ummmm . . . bathroom schedule??

:P So funny....it reminds me of my Uncle Louie--phunny guy! He used to comment about one of my great aunt's bathroom schedule, saying--she only goes once a week! :o And he'd always make that face-- :o . He always seemed quite taken with this particular fact....

I always wondered the same thing--how did he know? Did they discuss such things?

My BIL calls it "laying cable" which for him, who goes about bi-weekly, is quite appropriate!!!!!!!!

 excellent - and descriptive

Anybody else wondering why Bev knows her BIL's . . . ummmm . . . bathroom schedule??

tom Contributor

Well that was weird. I somehow got logged out from just hitting 'Next Page'.

Meanwhile Al is continuing his world tour.....and is travelling to France tomorrow (day trip with the school)....

This sort of talk makes us too jealous.

Watching Wimbledon....lovely summers day...

Ahhhhhhhhh ;)

Does Knichy watch other tennis too or just the grand ole Lady that is Wimbledon??

Ptaum - is the air totally smoky where you are?

I was gonna say no, and how a map on the news showed the south bay being spared but then I went outside & UGH!! Not as bad as much of the bay area I'm sure, but pretty hazy and I can smell the smoke.

SJ had no sign of smoke earlier.

I wonder if it's from Napa or south of Monterey. Pretty far, either way. Maybe there are new ones.

Anyone see the report of >800 fires in CA? Mostly northern and started by weird rainless lightning storms.

St. George is so different. Starts w/ a brandy base.

BevMo has added a couple more lately, but both get terrible reviews online. Artificial colors - bleh - and one gets compared to Scope!!:wacko:

I have 1/2 a bottle of St George here still. Should try it again. Lucid remains my fav. :) :) :D:)

Gaaahhh! Was just emailing back and forth wif me bro, and was mentioning how his euphemism for moving one's bowels is quite phunny. He said, "that one's not as phunny as "bombing the Oval Office".......

A lot of my coworkers have been saying the same thing, I wish school was starting again.

Oh, and WTH is a 'Zoning board' meeting????

Zoning Boards deal with city planning. They responsible for what type of buildings (residential, commercial, industrial, etc) can be built where. They won't let a garbage dump go in next to my multi-milliion dollar mansion humble abode. There's a lot more to it than that, but that's the idea. We were fighting the school board to keep them from putting in a highschool sports facility in the backyard (so to speak) of the elementary school, taking up virtually all of the grass/play area. We lost.

You know . . . when you started talkin' about how excited you were that school was out . . .I just thought . . . well, she's got more patience/energy/discipline/control/stamina/chocolate/booze/you-name-it than me. Guess, not!:lol: Maybe you should make a run to the BevMo.

Ah.....'Tis a tough loss, Janet. Hopefully you'll be in your neighboUrhood long enough that your kids will be able to enjoy this new sports facility once they're in high school (The bright side of it, I guess?).......

Maybe you should make a run to the BevMo.

This, I believe, is sound advice, Sarah.

Keep strong, Supermom!!!!

I've got Jack pacing me on his bike for my morning run. It's quite phunny...he'll be WAY ahead of me, chattering away non-stop, and I cannot hear a word he's saying. Every now and then I'll yell out a "yeah"....or "really, eh?" At this time, I remain ignorant of all the brillliant thoughts that fly through that kid's mind..... . . .:lol:

When people tell stories like this, I always picture them. As I read your description, I was picturing you and Jack, adding details as I read along... I get to "really, eh?" and I add in a Canadian accent, and PPPPPOOOWW, instantly burst out laughing-- machine-gunning chewed up broccoli salad all over my desk. Ya know, actually spitting out food from laughter is really messy. There's my pay for laughing at somebody's accent-- my keyboard is never gonna be the same again.

Meanwhile Al is continuing his world tour.....and is travelling to France tomorrow (day trip with the school)....I have to drop him off at school at 5.30am :o ...

DAY trip to FRANCE?!?! Oh... mah... GAH!!!!! :insanelyjealousface:

Dude, totally. By the time Brian got home last night, I was wondering to myself, "How bad would it be to get totally schnockered on a Monday night?" Yesterday blew. Today actually hasn't been QUITE as bad.

Considering the sport in question and my kids athletic preferences . . . doubtful. The problem is they are fencing it all in . . . makes it unusable to anyone else . . . including the hundreds of children that go to the elementary school. It's a beautiful facility (on paper), it's just way too big to put it where they are trying to put it. I'm not sure where they are going to get the giant shoe-horn . . . and that's it, I shall whinje no more . . . at least on that particular topic.

We do sound rather hilarious, 'tis true.....

Jack has come to realize that I only hear about a tenth of what he's saying as he's cycling at a good clip ahead of me, so this morning he begins to scream his dialogue and questions to me. Like, the loudest screaming many of us, I'm sure, have ever heard.

"WHAT THE HECK KIND OF TREE IS THAT, MOM??!!", for example.............. :o:o:lol:

I tend to stay away from things like this and shoulder pads....they make me uncomfortable, like they're going to fall out or shift position. I would be forever trying to adjust them and check to make sure they wern't showing. Yep--I'm that anal :D

In response to your questions regarding probiotics.  I have had Celiac for 40 years.  Stomach issues: digestion, IBS to chronic constipation, bloat after eating anything.  I was unable to eat a healthy variety of foods, tried probiotics supplements - some made me worse, others made no difference.  After reading about people with Crones, IBS, etc, who made their own probiotics I started making Milk Kefir: not water Kefir. There are 10 probiotics in milk KEFIR. After 3 weeks I was able to eat more, no gas, no IBS.  If you have a computer just ask for videos on making milk Kefir. I branched out and make my own Kombucha for even more probiotics. I do not make my yogurt because there are only about four probiotics in that. I started this when I was 82 and I still make my own Kefir and Kombucha. My stomach issues were fixed with the Milk Kefir alone. If you decide to try making it, make certain you order MILK GRAINS. The finished product tastes a bit like Buttermilk. I hope this helps in your journey to good health.

Help me out here. Lauren Dam gluten-free beer from Spain is listed as gluten free. Yet its made from Barley Malt. I thought barley and any form had gluten. Anybody have any more information about it?

Ferritin levels.  And see what your hemoglobin looks like too, that will tell you if you are anemic?  You can have 'low normal' levels that will not be flagged by blood tests.  I had 'low normal' levels, my lab reading was. c12, just over what was considered normal, but I had small benign lesion on my tongue, and sometimes a sore mouth, and a consultant maxillofacial ordered an iron infusion for me as he felt my levels were too low and if he  raised them to 40, it would help.   Because you are not feeling 100% it might be worth looking at your levels, then discussing with your doctor if they are low normal.  But I stress, don't supplement iron without your levels being monitored, too much is dangerous.

Hi Katht -  I sympathize with your struggles in following a gluten-free diet and lifestyle. I found out that I had Celiac Disease a few months before I turned 70. I just turned 89 and it has taken me almost 20 years to attain a fairly normal intestinal  function. I also lost a lot of weight, down to 100 lb. down from about 140 lb. What Trents wrote you was very true for me. I am still elimination foods from my diet. One person suggested you keep a food diary and that is a good idea but it is probably best just to do an elimination diet. There are several ne and maybe one for celiacs. I used one for a while and started with plain rice and zucchini and then added back other foods to see if I reacted or not. That helped a great deal but what I did not realise that it would only very small amounts of some foods to cause inflammation in my intestine. Within the last few years I have stopped eating any trace amounts of hot peppers, corn and soy(mostly in supplements) and nuts, (the corn in Tylenol was giving me stomach aches and the nuts were causing foot pains). Starting an elimination diet with white rice is better than brown rice that has some natural toxins. In addition it is very important to drink sufficient plain water. You can find out how much to drink for your height and weight online. I do have difficulty drinking 48 ounces of water but just recently have found an electrolyte supplement that helps me stay well hydrated, Adding the water and electrolytes may reduce muscle cramps and gag spams you wrote about. . Also buy some anti-gluten enzyme capsules to take with meals. I use GliadinX advertised here. These are a lot of things to do at one time as they reflect my 20 years of experience. I hope you do what you can manage to do over time. Good luck and take care.
