WOW!!!! I'll say! I was expecting to see some great handyman type projects, but your dad is a talented artist!!!!!!

Sarah!! What incredible work your dad has done! He is a gifted artist. Makes me want to give myself a shake, get up off me idle arse and begin creating artwork again.....sigh.......

I know. ^_^ He's awesome. I will get after him- when he puts up some current pics, I'll let you guys know. He landscapes, he's a builder, he writes music, sings and plays guitar... all really well. Why didn't I get any of that? <ahttps://www.celiac.com/uploads/emoticons/default_blink.png' alt=''> He's also a good writer. A snippet from the essay on Open Original Shared Link:

(written in the form of a press release/question and answer session)

"You can see just below the watermelon filled belly that Tiki Man has huge feet. Oh yes, yes, what is it?"

"Stynky Fet, American Podiatrists Association. He only has four toes."

"And?"

"Well, that's quite unusual isn't it? I mean five toes are the standard and it seems to me that he could keep his balance better..."

"Excuse me, Stinky Feet. He only..."

"That's Stynky Fet, Sir...

"Oh, sorry Stinky Feet Sir. He only has four toes because of the size of his feet. They are wider than his body. If he had a fifth toe, it would stick out so far on the side of his foot that he would always be stubbing it on something. Makes sense doesn't it Stinky?"

"Stynky!"

"Of course."

What a dad, Sarah! What does he NOT do? You must put up a pic of him....I am fascinated by and infatuated with all artisans....... :D

OMG yes!!! and do provide an illustration as well, for the illiterate people you come across!

Hmmmmm....yes, the illiterate individuals..... . . . .could provide an illustration, or I could now use American Sign Language. Only thing is, I only know "penis", "vagina", "lesbian" and "helicopter". Well, I could just start up a line of conversation where I only need to use those words. Not a problem.:lol:

Got this from my mom over the weekend, and it made me do this. Then I tried it a couple more times.  Except I didn't care if anyone watched me attempt this. B)

HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT?

You have to try this please, it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this!!!

It is from an orthopedic surgeon............

This will boggle your mind and you will keep you trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't.

It's pre-programmed in your brain!

1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY......) and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.

So sorry to hear about your Jenn. :( Not certain how far San Diego is from you, but you'll still be in the same state. So you will have some...perhaps lengthy....commutes to one another. But doable! :D

Same state!!!!!???? Em!!!

Quick look at my wall-mounted world map (hey look! Phrezno's on it!) puts Phrez to SD similar to Ottawa to NYC, or Boston to DC.

Oh yeah! :foreheadsmack: Yeah, we found out that Luke has 20/20 vision. Why he leans so close to what he's reading, I don't know. The eye doc told him to quit it.

Edited to add... He did it again. Changed the post format... header is to the side again. You know, I liked it better that way before, but I feel like I need some kind of warning for changes like that because I come on here and it's suddenly different, it FREAKS ME OUT.

Hot and beautiful here today...low humidity.....Yippeeeee!

I know!! And the way she explains everything so perfectly....I can picture exactly what my hands should be doing as she is explaining each of the gestures for words. Teacher extraordinaire......

Lisa, can you explain to me how I can unfurl the garden hose when I pull it out to water the plants and NOT have it all tangle up, so that I don't have to walk all the way back over and UNtangle it? <_<:lol:

Make a fist with thumb alongside index finger ( not placed in front of fingers like you normally would) This is the letter A, so we will refer to this as the A hand. Then open hand spreading out fingers to the #5......Hey...this could come in handy.......we already know what #1 and #2 are.....now we have a #5!!! By the way....... in ASL, facial expressions are important. So when you open your hand, blow air out of your mouth by going *Puh* :D

BTW.......I unpacked my book of Signs of Sexual Behavior .and it says Va-jay-jay should be signed pointing down so as not to confuse it with *triangle*...............yeah, cuz I always confuse mine with a triangle

Morning All!!!!

where is everyone these days? so quiet in our silly thread?? Did we scare even some of the regulars away? I knew I should have bathed more this month since it was hout out :P

I'm here, whatever that means. No rain expected today, low humidity, mid-twenties Celsius. I'm stuck in the store until sometime after seven this evening.

I prefer this format. It makes more sense when you type

<---- Look at Em's Belly!!!!

I'm pooping in and out . . . MIL is due to arrive tomorrow morning. I am frantically trying to clean the house and make it look like "yes, this is how I always maintain my home". I'm pretty sure I don't have enough time for that :P

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
    • nanny marley
I agree there I've tryed this myself to prove I can't eat gluten or lactose and it sets me back for about a month till I have to go back to being very strict to settle again
    • trents
You may also need to supplement with B12 as this vitamin is also involved in iron assimilation and is often deficient in long-term undiagnosed celiac disease.
