Busted again!

POOP WEEDSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (new word for "eureka!")

<slapping forehead>

Sillies.........you won't believe this!

*warning - extremely non-sillie post to follow*

and, since I clearly have no secrets, I"ll just share it here.

well, as many of you know, I"ve been taking Wellbutrin since the first or second week of june. And, it's generic. GENERIC WELLBUTRIN CAN BE EVIL..........I've KNOWN this - there's even a thread on the forum about this, to which I contributed a while back. but, I figured since I was so healthy, and gluten-free, and not quite sure whether I'd ever taken it before......I began to use this drug.

Well, oh my gawd. :o AT first I didn't notice anything but.....a slight subdued-ness and - David noticed changes in me - I was not nearly as fun. Then, the horrible crash happened the last weekend in June, and so - one's grief and sorrow obliterates everything else, naturally, hard to tell where grief ends and depression begins. Then, the breakup - almost two weeks ago, which has fueled an intense anger in me.

But..........I had been noticing something within me, becoming increasingly more awful and horrifying.

I increased my Wellbutrin about two weeks ago........and the feelings I have been having were NOT just sadness/grief/anger - those feelings are normal and appropriate during this time. But something savagely terrifying was creeping into me and.....it was a state of being taht was alarmingly familiar to me.

what I noticed a few days ago is that I have been carrying within me something VERY similar to the acute dread/panic/horror and terror that I had for nearly four months in the Siege of Terror of 2004 (an absolutely horrifying experience some of you will recall hearing about).

Anywho, this sick dread would hit me particularly hard late morning-mid afternoon every single day (I take the pills morning and early afternoon and increased two weeks ago - ZOIGS). Sooooooo many thoughts of suicide, excruciating angst, heart pounding, severe panic, but......worst of all was the feeling of terrible foreboding, doom, TERROR and......a suicidal dread that I just can't describe. And - my weeping was not getting any better and my mom said something to me the other day, as I was weeping at her house (the terror is always at its absolute WORST in teh afternoons - quite often necessitating a tranquilizer). She said that I reminded her a bit of when I had to live there for nearly four months in original Siege of Terror............

and oh my God, it hit me. Well - that's not exactly true.

I came home and was just sobbing in prayer.........telling God - - I can't carry this weight any more....this is abnormal.........HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME etc. and.......got in the shower and then prayed some more. And suddenly - - a thought flashed thorugh my head - - "Wellbutrin - get off of it"

:o:o:o

so guess what, sillies. today is day two of no Wellbutrin (I am goign to wean carefully but wanted to see what NO wellbutrin would do) and GUESS WHAT - there is NO TERROR, NO PANIC, NO WEEPING, NO SUICIDAL DREAD - - - NONE of the horrible stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay....sorry this is so long and thanks for listening but........this is a major breakthrough, I think!!!!!!!!!! I no longer feel taht my WHOLE LIFE IS OVER, I no longer cry ALL DAY LONG, I no longer feel COMPLETE and UTTER BLEAK hopelessness about my future.

:):):)

Precious sillies, I KNOW your prayers and thoughts have helped carry me through this and reach this place.

I know there will still be hard days.......no doubt. But............I think they will be manageable hard days. I will figure out what to do meds-wise at a later time.....but am considering joining the gym again just to REALLY get the endorphins going.

:)

there's my update!!!! sorry it's so long - gads

Susie, I am SO SO SO glad to hear this!!! And I have to tell you, it is not dissimilar to what I went through, when I decided to go off the Prozac... it was not helping me, it was nearly killing me!!! Luckily, I had not been on it very long.

Speaking of which... yeah... keep an eye on how quickly you go off it.

I'm still dealing with the nausea, dizziness, brain shivers. Rash #2 is fading away, and I'm hoping there won't be a round 3. I've been having a hideous time not sleeping- muscle twitches, shuddering, restless legs. My doc thinks that is all more likely to do with anxiety than the Effexor withdrawals, so I'm like, Greeaaat.

I know these drugs can help a LOT... the Effexor helped me for years... but sometimes I hate them, too. Sigh...

Also, got your pm, will get back to you tonight!!! I've got to do one other thing and then tear myself away from the gosh darn computer so I can feed the kids.

 Goosey does that from time to time. hee-larry-us.

Lisa - strong? :( I don't know about that.

when you realize that.......your dream is gone..........the person you THOUGHT you had is not only instantly yanked from your life under inconceivable circumstances but - turns into someone else (that's all I"ll say here)....the one from whom you were inseparable - gone......the love, fun, "security," perceived life together.........all gone.......... it's still gonna take me quite a bit of time to get over this one. (if any of you wants the whole story I can email it)

:(

:(

:(

but - at least I feel stronger, more capable of dealing with this, and more "normal" now. I"m just pretty certain I"ll never date again.....got bets on this, actually.

gawd I love our pOeter............

Was just looking at Jess's scientific post on various diets. it was.........very scientific. I caught parts of it. But - thought I"d tell you all a new term we coined last night, since I"ve lost about 12 pounds from current grief:

miserexia: unintentional weight loss from horrible pain

Can hardly eat. Today had:

one peach w/ a bit of half-and-half (peaches and cream) for breakfast

two hard-boiled eggs

four Trader Joe's mini - - and I do mean mini (about 1.5 inches each) tacos.

a typical day. Occasionally a pre-made frozen entree (very healthy!) at lunch.

I think I might be malnourished, part of the problem.

Perhaps by October our staffing issues will have sorted out. We have two people in training, but at the moment at least one of us must be in the store at all times. We are training two people at the moment, so there is hope.

Symptoms that get worse if you don't supplement is a sign of malabsorption, possibly due to Celiac disease. Blood tests for nutritional deficiencies are not very accurate, and should be done when you have been off of supplements for eight to twelve weeks, otherwise the vitamin supplements you've taken will be measured.  The blood circulation system is a transportation system.  It transports the vitamins you've absorbed around the body, but blood tests don't give an accurate picture of the vitamin and mineral stores inside organs and tissues where they are actually used.  You can have "normal" blood levels but still have deficiencies.  This is because the brain demands stored nutrients be put into the blood stream to supply important organs, like the brain and heart, while other organs do without.   If you are taking Thiamine Mononitrate in your supplements, you are probably low in thiamine.  Thiamine Mononitrate is used in many supplements because it won't break down sitting on a shelf.  This also means Thiamine Mononitrate is difficult for the body to utilize.  Only thirty percent of Thiamine Mononitrate on the label is absorbed and even less is able to be utilized by the body.  A different form of Thiamine called Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing.   Talk to your doctor about doing a genetic test to look for Celiac markers.   I'm concerned that if you do a gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum off two weeks) in your weakened state, the nutritional deficiencies will become worse and possibly life threatening.

Hello, good afternoon!   I apologize, I didn’t see a notification and I’m just reading this. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and the link. Yes you are absolutely right, even so trying to get a response from them has been extremely difficult. They don’t answer but I will your practice of “guilty until proven innocent.”   I like and have a sense of trust here in this website, everyone is honest and thoughts are raw. The mutual understanding is amazing!   thank you Scott!

I'd go with a vodka tonic, but that's just me😉

That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.
