Here's what you can get on BI for less than $225,000

(I'd like to point out that that's a parking spot...)

But if you have a little extra cash, this is available

How about Sprouts? Loved that store in AZ & I think CO has some.

I think since the Winter Games have that skiing/shooting biathlon, the Summer Games should have Horseback Archery!

(No dismount to shoot tho . ..full gallop, like the movies ;) )

No Sprouts in my immediate area anyway. There are Sunflower Markets, but eh.....jury is still out on that one.

Horseback Archery  Good idea!!! And they might as well synchronize every sport: synchronized gymnastics, synchronized fencing, synchronized tennis, synchronized boxing......they sky is the limit on synchronizing everything!!

So here's some not-so-good news for me. Roommate's probably going to move in w/ his girlfriend in a couple months.

  Indeed it is. Hi Sarah! so sorry you're not feeling well.

........and how did I ever get to this age and not once have I ever heard mention of a YURT !

 I briefly dated a guy who lived in his beautiful, custom-built redwood yurt in Big Sur. Some of you may recall, he was the one who went "hiking" once a week, <_< deep into the Ventana Wilderness. He was unreachable for 24 hours during those times........after a few weeks I did find out the reason for this "hiking" - - he and his partner were tending their marijuana crops. Yes, that's right, he grew and sold marijuana. Yes, I dated (for about three weeks) a drug-dealing, yurt-dwelling, stinky Big Sur hippie.

Also - remember his whole crop was raided and eaten by wild pigs. Hence our phrase, "I was as happy as a weed-eating pig."

mygawd, I have dated some really scary, scary people. And I am soooooooo sad to realize taht the last one was the scariest and meanest and cleverest one of all. :( (Yurt Boy, I have to say, was one of the NICEST men I knew in my whole seven years in Monterey.) See, this weekend there were two horribly disturbing emails from A@@hole - one a group email that included me (I blocked his email after taht); Jenn was so disturbed by the cruelty and insensitivity of taht one that she replied to him about it - the second one was his response to her, that he copied to me. This was why I came unhinged, reading these two things.

I actually feel like the wound has been ripped open again and I am re-grieving.....I have taken soooooo many steps backwards from this. :(

POOPY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry::(

on a lighter note.........my only olympic commentary:

I am soooooooooooooo bored wtih sand volleyball. *yawnface* so bored taht I don't watch it....just have it on in background while I read and wait for something else.

I think I'm going to campaign to have it removed :P

Wow...its pretty shocking what comes up when you do a search on "GlutenEase".

This is my first time in "Silly Land" (or whatever its called)....and I have to say...I find alot of it to be offensive and disrespectful. Here, all this time I thought you guys were having some decent fun. Come to find out alot of these laughs come at the expense of other board members (I guess you "sillies" would refer to them as "the others")!

Lots of violations of board rule #1 going on here! :o

How "silly" of me not to have reported them a few days ago.....when I found them.

Wow. I'd bet Rachel could tell me how to properly unfurl my hose......

I'm sure she could fix the New Posts button, too

Ummm....I'm sure you can figure out how to unfurl your own hose. ;)

I know zip about the New Post button....however, I think I CAN figure out how to use the "Report" button. In fact, in a short while I should be an expert at it! :)

Um, Rachel, I have this pain in my left leg. Could you please diagnose me over the forum?

I'm sure I could "diagnose" you with a few things right now....although I dont think any of it would be appropriate for this forum.

Snooort. We're gonna get in trouble, I can feel it in the air....

Ya think???

I know. We're totally gonna get busted for it one 'a these days.

Hmmm.....one 'a these days.

OMG - we are SO going down in phlames!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The motley lot of us......alas, notice we NEVER get in trouble? well, that just shows us that......no one really important reads our drivel just us......they're probably too conphuzed by our pspellingz n stuph and......other krap and we know that the occasional lurker just scurries off.........but hey, how COME no one's ever reported us? 'tis one of the great, psillie wonders of the world.......

Yeah....I guess most people are busy trying to get well...or maybe they're more interested in reading about enzymes or sumphthin??

I'm glad I could offer you guys some good laughs though. B) I mean what good is this board if you cant find a cliquey thread to come into (where "the others" are not welcome) and pretty much make fun of the "other" board members in "private"??

I do love how we discuss our things about other posters here, on the WORLD WIDE WEB - 'snot like anybuddy kan see it er nuttin'

Yeah...'snot like anybuddy's really gonna come into this unproductive thread....'cept for the "sillies" right??

Gotta love the WORLD WIDE WEB...though. 'tis one of the great, psillie wonders of the world....... :D

I think Patti has probably signed on as the lone moderator for Tickle Me Elbow, kind of like a contract, in order to keep us all on the board.

Sillies, Sillies, Sillies,..... <shaking head sadly>

Dont you know that in order to really be a part of this forum you need to respect ALL members regardless of differing opinions??

Seems some of you have forgotten rule #1...

Do not be abusive or otherwise out of line towards other board members. Show respect for each board member, no matter what you think of their views. This is not a place to quarrel.

I got alot more reading to do....this stuph is really interesting! :P

Sorry if I can't worry about that stuff now.

I'm here to tell my friends that my entire world just came crashing down around me.

Brian told me last night he wants a divorce. After all these years. And I never saw it coming.

Turns out he's been lying for quite awhile about how he feels. I'm still in shaking, shuddering shock. I don't think I'll ever get over this.

He took his wedding ring off and left it on the bedside table, slept on the couch. He's already figured out child support payments, and how long he'll pay my car insurance.

Yesterday, I thought everything was fine. We've had our problems, but we've worked on them. I've always felt a marriage was worth working on, and I loved him enough to do that. Last night I found out that he doesn't feel the same.

He's just been lying- he admitted that- for God knows how long, and now it's over. Not a break. Not to work on things. It's over... just like that.

I've never felt so hideously betrayed... by the one person in this world I trusted to never screw me over. I've never been so shocked. My heart's been ripped out and stomped on by the person who gave me my babies... who was supposed to be my partner for life. It hurts... so bad.

I can't stop crying. And I haven't even told my kids yet. How am I supposed to do this?

I'll be online a little today. Then I don't know for awhile, but I'll be able to check my email. Anyone who has it can share it with the rest of you. When you get down to it... he's basically kicking me out. I can't keep this house on my own.

I'm a stay-at-home mom. I have no credit- none. I never finished college, and I haven't had a job in over 5 years. And I have two chronically ill children. I went to my mom's last night. The kids and I will be moving back in with them.

Brian's going to stay here in this house that we were making ours... that we fought and struggled so hard for.

This summer has been so incredibly hard for me. And he turned his back on me.

Nine years together. Yesterday I thought everything was fine, and today it's over. The pain is so huge, i don't know how I'll survive it.

jerseyangel Proficient

Sarah,

I don't know what to say. I'm just heartsick for you.

You're a strong and smart woman--I have so much respect for you and the kind of mom you are. Thank goodness you can go to your parents' for the time being.

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind
