Good Morning, Quiet psillies!!

Crap....Just TOO quiet around these parts. ....I'm gonna hafta do some major recruiting. I think we should somehow pass a Forum Rule that new members must make an appearance in Psillyville to have their post count activated. The laws of addiction would settle in, and the vortex would begin to claim many new hapless victims.

Must get on The Ripper for a new ponderable. . . .......

It has been SUSPICIOUSLY quiet <_< <_< Em- Love your sleepy substandard poodles!!!!!!!!!!

The weather has been so gray here..........where is SPRING????????????

Mornin' sillies B)

Ugh--no sillie fer me, but had to poop in. It's going to be a nice day here--mid 70's and sunny. I took a walk yesterday and noticed how hot the sun is for this time of year, even though it was only about 70 degrees.

Have a good trip, Jan-it--see you when you get back :)

Amanda--keep us posted on John, I'm glad that they identified the problem and it can be taken care of--how are you feeling?

"Frybaby" This must mean Brian's a "Frydaddy". :P

Love to all--

Have a great day, sills :D

Morning Sillies-

A very dreary rainy day and windy too--although it is in the 60's so at least it is warmer....

John is hanging in there-going for a HIDA scan on Tuesday--he has 2 large gall stones...but right now he is barely eating since everything bothers him even stuff that is not supposed to.

I am doing ok. I started new antiboitics the other night--still got some green in me (yes I know TMI) I also have been getting dizzy which I think is a side effect although it happens midmornings. I take the meds at night--but it might be all the sinuses draining.

We are having our yearly Childrens Miracle Network Basket Raffle today- I hope to win- you would not believe the baskets. They are huge!!!! There is one that is a pack n play filled with stuff for a new baby--I bid on that and the two backyard kits with grills.... among others :)

Drawing is at 2 today.

Rain here too. And more rain.

Where have all the psillies gone?

Yeah, this is really poopy.. . ..... .. ....everyone's busy, or going away, or maybe sick .. . . . .. .

'Tis a quiet place, our Psillyville.

I just spent $403.00 on two new summer tires.:angry:

This is decidedly NOT psilly.

I'm back in statistics purgatory. I'm hoping I'm not actually expected to DO some of this stuff   :o

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I've been meaning to post for SO long . .. . . .me brain's fallen & can nae get up . ...me psilly too . . . .

I do so miss having some silly in me w/ any regularity. It's been so long now.

The last time I could reasonably expect any 'tomorrow' to be a good day was at the close of the GREAT six months - Dec '07.

Wtf changed? I've tried new pans for a while now & that doesn't seem to be it.

I never would've moved back to SJ had I not been so sure the improvement would continue. In Sep '07 I was 90% sure I'd be able to work full-time w/in 2 or 3 months.

I'm struggling far too much w/ just this part-time gig. But THAT may not be an issue for much longer. Last month, the boss said they're expecting the group workload to decrease and my contract won't be extended.

They have gotten one unanticipated extra project since he told me that, but it still seems unlikely I'll be extended beyond april 20th.

So I probably have just 17 more days of work. :(

It'd be easy to blame the lackl (hehe) on that, but I've been void of any silly for longer.

Actually, strangely feeling a slight uptick these last 2 days, after being affected by a carpet-cleaning chem exposure at work. Stayed home dizzy & nauseous & had weird & voluminous poop .. ...and incredibly felt a bit better the next day.

I'm still mostly keeping up here.. . ..but it's been far too easy on some of these days!!!

Hope all the silly's situations w/ the loved ones (& selves) get better all the time.

Did you not eat during that time? Maybe there's some small thing still bugging you and you accidentally carpet-detoxed.

Yes, Jess's query makes sense. . .. . . ..you weren't eating, you were cleaning yourself out at both ends, and immediately afterward you have felt markedly better.............sounds like some noxious thing hasn't been there for a couple o' days!

Great to hear from you, Tom!

SILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

My gawd, it HAS been quiet......I had only three pages on which to catch up to catch up ON.......

speaking for meself, well, I was quite busy, but then not busy, and then got kinda sad....

I've decided - am being most serious here - that I only have two good weeks a month and then, once ovulation starts, I almost feel that I walk over a cliff and into an abyss. The fun Soozle is gone.......it becomes dark and awful for two weeks.........WHAT IN HELL AM I TO DO???????? I have had it with this.......need hormones checked but have no faith in doctors to provide the right thing.........HARRUMPHHHHHHFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

It exuded a very strong, thick smell, and by the time the priest got around the coffin twice, he was starting to stagger and smile a little.

Crap, I do believe he was stoned.

He walked verrrrrrrrrrry strangely to the back of the church, leading the fray, smiling, appearing like he was talking to himself.

It was just what I needed. Peeps, I'm afraid I pulled a Mary-Tyler-Moore-at- Chuckles-The-Clown-Funeral. Began larfing. Kept larfing.

Man. Not good.

 I did love this

LEESARGH!!!!!!!!!! Frybaby - LOVE that - - love the good reports on the book!!!!!!!!

I hope at my funeral everyone laughs so hard they all pee their pants.

I don't want you to die EVER but......I'd love to be at yer funeral ;)

Gah! Jess! Can we die together?? This sounds fantastic, and exactly what I would like to plan.....my family would be SO compliant in this -- in fact, I will be saving a lot of my dad's wardrobe for any individuals to wear.

The Orange jugs can HOLD the flowers.

Our bodies can enter the church on Care Bear floats.

During the music, when people stand they must hold a public-restroom hover.

I was looking at that crutch-tip.....do you know, they will make PERFECT candle-holders?

dear gawd

Em, carried in on a Care Bear Phloat.......this is just fantastic..........

EM!!! What's going on???...is he a cOeliac????

 um - did I phorget summat? who is she talking about?

Don't skimp on the gluten daily while undergoing the gluten challenge!

So, I've been using a gluten free labeled toothpaste since being diagnosed with celiac. No big deal, the toothpaste seems to work. Question is, I just realized it contains hydrated silica.  Now, I've heard that silicon dioxide can cause issues in some people with celiac (was that ever confirmed though?), so to be safe, I cut it out of my diet entirely. But, as I understand it, hydrated silica is related to silicon dioxide. Is that something to worry about, or is the hydrated form not known to cause issues like the silicon dioxide form?  I've never seen it in food, but nearly every toothpaste I look at contains hydrated silica?  Issue or not?  Any scientific research (Not opinion pieces, not health bloggers, you get my gist), but actual science, that says it's an issue? I have a hard time believing 99% of what I read on random internet searches.    Thanks so much, Renee.

Since 2015 we've spent extensive time in Italy and I've been able to eat their wheat products without incident. Initially, I was practically starving thinking foods in Sicily were not gluten-free.  An Italian friend who had lived in the US for over 20 years said she had celiac/gluten-free friends from the US who could eat Italian wheat products without problems. Hesitantly, I tried little by little without issues.  A few years later at a market, I asked a bread vendor if they had gluten-free loaves. Turns out she had lived in LA, said groups believe it's not the gluten that's causing our bodies harm, but potassium bromate; these groups have been trying to ban it.  Bromines and other halogens wreaks havoc to our endocrine system and, more specifically, our thyroids and immune systems. When bromines are ingested/absorbed into the body, it displaces iodine causing other health issues. Potassium bromate is a powerful oxidizing agent (dough 'conditioner') that chemically changes flour to enhance elasticity, bleaches the dough, and ages the flour much faster than open air.   Shortly thereafter while visiting friends in California, one family said they had gone gluten-free and the difference was incredible. The reason they choose this path was due them (a biologist/chemist/agriculturist scientist) having to write a portion of a paper about a certain product for the company he worked. Another company's scientist was directed to write the other portion. All was confidential, they weren't allowed to know the other company/employee.  After the research, they learned gluten was being removed from wheat, sent elsewhere, returned in large congealed blocks resembling tofu, and then added to wheat products. Potassium bromate has been banned for use in Europe, China, and other countries, but not in the US. Then we have the issues of shelf preservatives and stabilizers. What are we eating?  Why? We spend long periods of time in Italy and all has been good.  We just returned from an extended time in Greece;  no issues there either.  There is a man there we learned about on a travel show about Greece who walks the hills, picking herbs, pods, etc.  He is a very learned scholar, taught at the university level in Melbourne. It took a few days to locate him, but were finally successful. He too, is concerned about the additives and preservatives in American food (many of his customers are Americans, haven't been in the best of health, and have become healthier after visiting him). He suggested taking a food product from the US and the same product in Europe, and compare the different ingredients. Then ask why these things are being allowed in the US by the 'watch dog' of our foods and drugs. It would be amuzing if it weren't tragic. I'm presently looking for flour from Europe that I can make my own bread and pasta as the gluten-free bread is now $7.99 a (small) loaf.  BTW, studies are showing that many gluten-free individuals are becoming diabetic. My guess is because the gluten-free products are high in carbs. This is only my experience and opinion garnished by my personal research.  I hope it helps.

Symptoms that get worse if you don't supplement is a sign of malabsorption, possibly due to Celiac disease. Blood tests for nutritional deficiencies are not very accurate, and should be done when you have been off of supplements for eight to twelve weeks, otherwise the vitamin supplements you've taken will be measured.  The blood circulation system is a transportation system.  It transports the vitamins you've absorbed around the body, but blood tests don't give an accurate picture of the vitamin and mineral stores inside organs and tissues where they are actually used.  You can have "normal" blood levels but still have deficiencies.  This is because the brain demands stored nutrients be put into the blood stream to supply important organs, like the brain and heart, while other organs do without.   If you are taking Thiamine Mononitrate in your supplements, you are probably low in thiamine.  Thiamine Mononitrate is used in many supplements because it won't break down sitting on a shelf.  This also means Thiamine Mononitrate is difficult for the body to utilize.  Only thirty percent of Thiamine Mononitrate on the label is absorbed and even less is able to be utilized by the body.  A different form of Thiamine called Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing.   Talk to your doctor about doing a genetic test to look for Celiac markers.   I'm concerned that if you do a gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum off two weeks) in your weakened state, the nutritional deficiencies will become worse and possibly life threatening.

Hello, good afternoon!   I apologize, I didn’t see a notification and I’m just reading this. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and the link. Yes you are absolutely right, even so trying to get a response from them has been extremely difficult. They don’t answer but I will your practice of “guilty until proven innocent.”   I like and have a sense of trust here in this website, everyone is honest and thoughts are raw. The mutual understanding is amazing!   thank you Scott!
