OMG SILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have discovered, in our warehouse, the single grossest thing AND I am quite sure - the very source itself for every vile disease, virus, deadly infection....yes, even the evil swine flughue.......

It's our fetid string mops

:o

filthier, more disgusting things I have never seen

:gag::gag:vomit::gag::gag:

must stay away........will NEVER touch it..........

in fact I may surreptitiously throw them out, and never admit to it

I am feelin' the wackl, sills, I'm feelin' it

I myself have been know to do the old "presto-chango-magic-make-it-dis-appear-o"!! I firmly believe that this is within my rights with gross/disgusting paraphelia!!

Em.....hope it's a wonderful time for yous! Sounds like a good time. Prayers for your Dad, too.

Excitement for the day.....redheaded woodpeckers in the yard! They made a pass through last year. Wish I knew how to entice them to stay. Have already seen male hummingbirds, too.

Pah-tay......lucky you has a great number of different hummers to see down there. Some of them are so beautiful!! There are some great birding sites in Texas, especially during migrations.

Hey Juuuude! Don't forget to take breaks from your dungeon tortures! Hope you are doing all right with it all! I phorget......did you have a target date for the move?

Nite all...... :)

Good Morning, Psills!

Ah, what a stimulating, oh-so-very-literary evening last night was! POeter, your brother is one of the finest readers to whom I've listened - - infectiously animated, completely taken over by his story, anxious to bring it out to us. He obviously becomes completely involved in his work. . ... .. a real artist.

Well. . . . . the only problem was the venue. The Clocktower Pub is a lovely little establishment down by the canal, cosy and artsy. Rob's book-reading and signing was, unfortunately, in the basement - -too cosy. It must have been 80 F when we got our seats along the bar, and the temp progressively rose from there. By eight-thirty I knew I was going to have to get out of there, or take my clothes off <_< .

So we waited in the looooonnnnng lineup after Rob finished reading from his excellent new book, as Jack bought one of his older books and wanted it signed. He was also prepared to get verification of Rob's dietary avoidance of mushrooms.

Well, we waited....and waited. . . ...and waited. We couldn't stay in the heat any longer. Rob was soaked in sweat, but kept signing and laughing. So, Jack didn't get his book signed, did not get to tell him about knowing you, his oracle brother. . . ...and did not have the opportunity to ask him if he has had the celiac blood panel run on himself.

There was a HUGE, gluten-filled birthday cake brought out for him, and we all sang robustly.

It was a great evening. The house white was a lovely Chilean. ...(Um, the wine, not the waiter). . . .......

Dad is getting prepped as I speak. . . . . ......will get news by lunchtime. .. . ...

:)

finding a spider on oneself or - in one's bed - - almost nothign more horrifying. Oh - except finding a large, winged insect on oneself.........like a big cicada...........or a cricket or a grasshopper (do they have wings? ) or.......a HUGE dive-bombing moth.....

or maybe a bat in one's hair - - :o or a bat in one's house (Jess and Em have stories about this, I believe)

I would die on the spot.

there are countries (and certain parts of THIS country) I will never visit due to the HUGE insects.....

falling into a nekkid toilet - actually touching the BOWL with one's arse - -

*GASP*

pure horror

and BTW - I don't think Padt's hair looks like that any more - she's in Texas - she gots BIG HAIR now  (but lurvely photo, Padt)

Me too!! in fact, anything with many legs and is shorter than one inch gives me heebe jeebees big time. However, probly still take the snake (even in the toilet) if t'wasn't ON mee!]. Cockroaches in our apt. in Germany, two inches long and hiding under dishwashing sponge and other sneaky places had me runnin' for the door, almost went over the upstairs balcony once :o

Got that one solved; when we built the house had them put urinal (pronounced you-RINE-al in good British voice) in de ensuite to avoid such shocking events. Dh had to think up other ways to git me, like leaving sandals in me track from bed-loo.

Well, bums!!!!!!!

Whatever happened to "Customer is always right"? Life has degenerated to customer is silly, stupid little WOMAN, has no idea what's wrong with her washer, will have to go straighten her out (wif me little thumbs). Repairmen is getting to be like doctors (only smellier)

Spent yesterday afternoon shouting at an old lady I visit (mother of my late :( best friend) whose hearing aid was out for repairs; GAWD, she really is deaf as a post. Thank God she likes to talk -and talk, and talk- so I phinally phiguredI could just sit there with this sweet smile and nod in affirmation every now and again, or frown, and move my lips occasionally cos she couldn't tell if I was talking or not. She had a good time

Gotta get going cos today my housesitter arrives (no, not to housesit--she had nowhere to go this month so she is going to stay in our unit out the back for most of the next month until we leave and I have to fix it up for her). Good deal, she stays free and does gardening for me. With my back and hands the last year the garden has suffered (garden, you call that a garden?? What are those things growing there? Them's weeds, me friends, millions of 'em, everywhere; some of 'em I don't even know what they are, heck they could be exotic arboreal specimens for all I know, I get stuff volunteering all the time, cabbage trees (yeah, really, look it up (cordyline), took me a long while to figure out what they looked like as babies!) and oodles of stuff with Maori names I nae can pronounce adequately let alone spell, and lots of pitysporums which are nice in the right place but not smack dab in the middle of a leucodendron. Anyways, thank goodness Barb knows 'bout such things and has a strong back and a willing heart so she will help me out and I will treat her real good because my garden has been driving me CRAAZEE!

Em. just see your dad is out of surgery; hope everything is hunky dory :) (wub).

I am doing a gluten challenge right now and I bought vital wheat gluten so I can know exactly how much gluten I am getting. One tablespoon is 7g so 1½ tablespoons of Vital Wheat Gluten per day will get you to 10g You could add it to bean burgers as a binder or add to hot chocolate or apple sauce and stir.

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.
