Ok, Salad Cream.....really don't know how to describe it....just nice on cold new potatoes (NOT as creamy as mayo  )

Open Original Shared Link

Oh, that's so much bettah than what I imagined ;) I thought it might be something like my mother used to make (which she called "mayonnaise" but which akshually turned out to be sweetened condensed milk and vinegar (malt); the heynossity of it all. Once when I was home for Christmas I decided to go to the store and buy some real mayonnaise, and guess what? It was the same icky stuff! Salad was always iceberg lettuce sliced very thinly (ya got brownie points for thinness  ) with tomoatoes and "mayonnaise " and hot or cold boiled potatoes (and ham, Nik, and occasionally beetroot) which is what made me think of it. Since the dawning of the age of international air travel the food has improved A LOT :)

Update, guys!

My dad made it through the second surgery. He is now in the ICU section of Recovery. The surgeon phoned my mom and told her that he got the two big stones out that he was concerned about.

So! We wait again. ... . . . . ....but he made it.

Hi Sills, just a poop in from me.

How is everybody?

I have some good news to report, Arnie has really made a lot of improvements with his separation anxiety/bonding issues. He does have a ways to go, but there has been progress :)

Think of you all often......am keeping up via gmail but in the words of David Lee Roth " I ain't got nobody no psilly". Too much going on but the general gist is nerve pain in the legs, medication changes up the wazoo.

Good and bad news- I don't have Addison's! :D But I have to have a TVU (no- not Tuvan throat singing lessons- a va-jay-jay ultrasound). Will wear sparkles and perhaps jewels!

Me too!

Y'know, I've had one of those, and I thought it was fascinating, didn't find it uncomfortable at all. But then, I felt the same way about my colon/endoscopy, my cyst surgery, every GYN exam I've ever had, I even try to horn in ony my bf's doctor visits, I like medical stuff! Obviously, I'm twisted and my opinion should be ignored....

Dude, Michael Jackson died today, too.

Who's next?

OMG.. . . . . .. :lol::lol: Perfect timing....a phonecall to bring me outta this sad time.

My mom is currently sitting with my dad in the ICU, and just rushed to the phone to call me after the first exchanges with him.

About an hour ago, he seemed to awaken briefly. His eyes fluttered open, and he looked briefly at my mom. He mumbled something, and then said, more clearly, "you're beautiful". Mom's heart swelled, and she apparently took his hand.

Nothing for an hour or so, and then his eyes suddenly fluttered again. Once more his eyes found Mom's face, and he whispered, "you are nice".

Mom's brow furrowed and, half smiling, she asked, "Hey..... . . . .what happened to beautiful?"

Silence. Then Dad quietly replied, "the anaesthetic is wearing off".

Thank you both very much. I’m pretty familiar with the various tests, and my older two girls with official dxs have even participated in research on other tests as well. I just felt overwhelmed and shocked that these recent results (which I found pretty dang conclusive after having scott clean labs just six months ago) would still be considered inconclusive. Doc said we could biopsy in another six weeks because my daughter was actually way more upset than I anticipated about the idea of eating it for years before doing another biopsy. It doesn’t hurt her, but she’s afraid of how it may be hurting her in ways she can’t feel. She’s currently eating mini wheats for breakfast, a sandwich with lunch, and a side of pasta along with every dinner, so I’m hoping we’re meeting that 10g benchmark mentioned in that second article!

Have you tried a genetic test to look for Celiac genes?  No gluten challenge required.
    • knitty kitty
Hello, @ElisaAllergiesgluten, Have you tried going on a low histamine Paleo diet like the Autoimmune Protocol diet?  A low histamine AIP diet would help your body rid itself of the extra histamine it's making in response to allergies.  Are you Celiac as well?   Since we need more thiamine when we're stressed, adding Benfotiamine, a form of Thiamine Vitamin B 1, can help the body calm down it's release of histamine.  Benfotiamine improves Sailors' asthma.

Don't skimp on the gluten daily while undergoing the gluten challenge!

So, I've been using a gluten free labeled toothpaste since being diagnosed with celiac. No big deal, the toothpaste seems to work. Question is, I just realized it contains hydrated silica.  Now, I've heard that silicon dioxide can cause issues in some people with celiac (was that ever confirmed though?), so to be safe, I cut it out of my diet entirely. But, as I understand it, hydrated silica is related to silicon dioxide. Is that something to worry about, or is the hydrated form not known to cause issues like the silicon dioxide form?  I've never seen it in food, but nearly every toothpaste I look at contains hydrated silica?  Issue or not?  Any scientific research (Not opinion pieces, not health bloggers, you get my gist), but actual science, that says it's an issue? I have a hard time believing 99% of what I read on random internet searches.    Thanks so much, Renee.
