I feel like I scared you all off with my family drama....

Amanda!!! You should know by now that we don't scare easily!!! We've all got family stories we could share . . . some might be immediate family, some might be extended or in-laws or extended in-laws :P . We currently are not too bad right now in my family . . . but don't ever lend my brother money . . . every one of us learned the lesson, the hard way.

We went up to J's sister's place this afternoon and saw the new PBGV puppies. Pictures on FB for those who are interested.

WIH does PBGV mean?

Pygmy Beagle/Giant Vizsla? . . ..I'm pretty sure I'm close

It stands for Petit Basset Griffon Vend

Sadly, the smallest/youngest did not make it through the night. He had been struggling all along.

:(

Amanda, not at all--You didn't scare me off, I just haven't been around here as much. Like Jan-it said, I'm sure many of us have "family situations", so we really do understand. My heart goes out to little Silvia--that's so very sad.

One thing I've learned (sometimes the hard way) is that we can't change anyone, but only our own reactions and how we relate to them.

On another, kinda dopey note....I couldn't find the bedroom TV remote yesterday, for the life of me. When we pulled down the covers to go to bed last night, there it was--I had made the bed right over it

Bunnie poop-in!!! I's been MIA, I's a bad girl.

Manda, my sister is a trollop who's evil and has the world's biggest mood swings. She went from all organic no gluten to McDonald's for ABSOUTELY no reason, just because she didn't feel like it anymore. The kids look terrible, and boy are they confused. I know how you feel.

Dat's all I caught up on, and the wedding YAY Lisa! How wonderful.....

I bought new sheets and I'm PMSing. That's all I got about me.

Now, if those aren't lyrics to the newest country song, dunno what is..... ...... .

Or it could be on a bumper sticker -- kind of a warning for those travelling too close, and/or to salesman who want to flog you some sheets.... .....

Awwwwww Judy . . . I'm sorry . . . I didn't know that your kitty wasn't going to make the move with you. I hope he finds a new home quick, though, so that you know that he's all settled in.

elye Community Regular

Jooooodie! Oh, so sorry that you cannot take Velcro with you - - what a gorgeous thing he is! I want him! I would adopt him, but I'm too far away... .. . . ... . :(

I'm sure you will get ALL KINDS of calls re. Velcro... . ... . ......lots of good families looking for a mature, handsome boy like him. :)

Judy, that is so sad, he is such a beautiful boy. I am sure someone nice will fall in love with him on sight--I know I did!

Antsy tonight can't seem to settle down. would love a funny Uncle Ray about now.

Judith, I'm so very sorry :( He is a beautiful kitty and I just know that someone kind is going to scoop him up. I can only imagine how hard this is for you.

Jestgar Rising Star

So sorry Judes. Passing on a friend is so hard.

Max is really sick. He apparently ingested some sort of poison that's causing hemolytic anemia. I'm just trying to keep him fed and hydrated and hope for the best. If his crit drops much lower he may end up with a transfusion. :(

Sending strong, healing thoughts to Max

Morning Sillies-

Sending prayers to Max--sorry to hear about him :(

Today is going to be chaotic- I entered 3 baking contests at the fair- 1 PB fudge, 1 cupcake and 1 cake---both of which are gluten-free Keep your fingers crossed :):):)

Mornin', peeps... . .

Sad kitteh stuff 'round here. .. . . ...... :(:(

So sorry about Max, Jyess. You are so good with your cats, he's lucky to have you as an owner and caregiver.

Any calls on our Velcro, Jooooode? I would, honestly, take him into my home in a second. Wonder how he'd feel about two huge, energetic sub-standard poodles vying for his attention?

The Ripper is away at a two-week sleepover camp. It's the first time he's been away so long, and we really hesitated to send him so soon after his grampa's death. Jack has been very quiet since Dad died.....still waters running deep, and all.

But we finally decided that it was the best thing for Jack to do -- get away from here and the lingering sadness, be on a beach with lots of other kids, swimming, canoeing, hiking, horseback-riding.... . . . ...but I do miss him.

I sent him my first letter the day before he left.:rolleyes:

Yes, such sad kitteh situations :( Thinkin about wee Max and Velcro.......

Em, I think it's a very good idea for Jack to go to his camp. Time out in nature with friends and kids his age sounds perfect right now. :) How is Sophie doing?

THANKS EM

I THINK IT'S GOOD THAT THE RIPPER IS OFF AT CAMP AND JACK WILL FIND HIS WAY...JUST AS YOU WILL EM. NO WORD ON VELCRO. NOT SURE THIS WILL WORK BUT........BUT WE'VE DONE WHAT WE CAN AT THIS POINT. FLYER GOING INTO THE VETS TOO.

SO MUCH TO DO AND SO LITTLE TIME.

psawyer Proficient

Good morning, psillies.

The basement is no longer full of garbage. :)

I'm thinking of Max and Velcro, hoping for good things for both of them.

I'll bet Jack has a great time at camp, phocused on phun stuph.

elye Community Regular
:) How is Sophie doing?

Actually, Soph is doing well. She is a very physically busy kid, with a lot of group sports going on, and she has many friends. Jack is a different beast -- he thinks and reads a great deal, doesn't surround himself with many other kids... .. ...I know that when he grieves throughout his lifetime, it will always be a huge trial for him.

But camp will be a great experience right now.

SO MUCH TO DO AND SO LITTLE TIME.

Been thinking about you, Joooodie. Nothing is more stressful than a big move..... ... but hey, it will be all over soon and you'll be in your new abode, and right near your son! :)

Thank you both very much. I’m pretty familiar with the various tests, and my older two girls with official dxs have even participated in research on other tests as well. I just felt overwhelmed and shocked that these recent results (which I found pretty dang conclusive after having scott clean labs just six months ago) would still be considered inconclusive. Doc said we could biopsy in another six weeks because my daughter was actually way more upset than I anticipated about the idea of eating it for years before doing another biopsy. It doesn’t hurt her, but she’s afraid of how it may be hurting her in ways she can’t feel. She’s currently eating mini wheats for breakfast, a sandwich with lunch, and a side of pasta along with every dinner, so I’m hoping we’re meeting that 10g benchmark mentioned in that second article!

Have you tried a genetic test to look for Celiac genes?  No gluten challenge required.
    • knitty kitty
Hello, @ElisaAllergiesgluten, Have you tried going on a low histamine Paleo diet like the Autoimmune Protocol diet?  A low histamine AIP diet would help your body rid itself of the extra histamine it's making in response to allergies.  Are you Celiac as well?   Since we need more thiamine when we're stressed, adding Benfotiamine, a form of Thiamine Vitamin B 1, can help the body calm down it's release of histamine.  Benfotiamine improves Sailors' asthma.

Don't skimp on the gluten daily while undergoing the gluten challenge!

So, I've been using a gluten free labeled toothpaste since being diagnosed with celiac. No big deal, the toothpaste seems to work. Question is, I just realized it contains hydrated silica.  Now, I've heard that silicon dioxide can cause issues in some people with celiac (was that ever confirmed though?), so to be safe, I cut it out of my diet entirely. But, as I understand it, hydrated silica is related to silicon dioxide. Is that something to worry about, or is the hydrated form not known to cause issues like the silicon dioxide form?  I've never seen it in food, but nearly every toothpaste I look at contains hydrated silica?  Issue or not?  Any scientific research (Not opinion pieces, not health bloggers, you get my gist), but actual science, that says it's an issue? I have a hard time believing 99% of what I read on random internet searches.    Thanks so much, Renee.
