My poor dad had to cope with my mum and us 3 girls, all cycling at the same time. Even the cat was female!

No wonder he spent a lot of time at work or in the garden.......

I brought the dogs in and THEN noticed. Crap... . . . .should have done me shorts up, ran back out and yelled, "HEY! I've got my period!! That's why my pants were undone! Y'know, in case you were wondering.....".....

EM 4:43 AM and you've given me my first laugh of the day.......thanks me dear ;)

Food Sources, check: Nuts, stale bread, an occasional grape...varied diet

Water Sources, check: Bloody Marys

Places for Cover, check: We have a rockpile, lotsa trees where squirrels and chipmunks nap

Places to Raise Young, check: De ground squirrels do it under de rockpile

Sustainable Gardening, check: Pine needle mulch, no other fertilizers...

Yep, I think we could get certified in a snap  I'm going on line right now!!!

Hang in there Joodee, someone else is going to love the house as much as you do; all it takes is just ONE right buyer. And no more painting!! Ye Gods, hae ye no dun enuff???

you nailed it honey........did you do it? Courious to see if it's as easy on line to do!

the sign in the yard is cute too

Judy's backyard is certifiable? Or is it that Judy is? Judy- Hang in there!

Emily ran after the postman with her pants unbuttoned? Yelling about her menses?

I canna keep up and canna go back so if I missed anything REALLY important, may I be provided with a psilly summary.

both are certifiable for sure.

Ha another laugh at Em;s expence

yep, we need summaries..........hey, where's jules by the way?

anyone heard from her?

Well, I'm feeling better, about 80%. I'm used to running on 80% so that's not bad.

glad your feeling better.....does the pan fried chicken taste like the 'bad for us old fried chicken of the good old days?' would love to try it

Hey ever-body!

Em-N-Em.....I jest luuv you! YOu give great giggles! (I promise not to laugh and tell).

Juuude....Telehubby and I looked for our house for a year! We knew we'd find the right one, and since we had a year rental lease, at first there was no hurry. As time was running out we finally looked at a house that we didn't want to look at. It's not far enough out of the way. The YARD was what I was looking for in all of the many places we "visited"......as much as price, more than the house....it had to have the right yard, or at least the right potential yard. It had to be something I could work with to make my own. SO.....the house we didn't even want to look at was the one place we both loved. There was one other house we truly did love...but the yard was horrid. I've had a ball creating what we call Saffold Park, the house is perfect for us, and the neighborhood suits us fine. Closer neighbors than we want, but they are quiet and respect privacy. ANywAy...I guess I'm trying to say is that there IS someone who is meant to love your house and yard. They may not know it right now, but they will be there, and in good time.

Pah-tay....mules with thumbs......OMG!!!!! I realized after I replied that...."well, dummy, she told you why the guy was out there". Never, ever, ever, enter a fenced pasture for any reason :P

After temps in the 90's....it feels downright cold here today. I am NOT ready for fall to be here! I want more summerrrrrr <> :(

yeah to your whole post.......thanks for the nice thoughts

Can you imagine being my Father? He must have been smothered- not by love, but by Kotexes and Tampaxes. I never noticed this, but all the phem paper products end with x. Is that a genetic thing?

100x's snort and hee ha's............

T--Saffold Park!! I love it! :D Sounds absolutely charming!

Judith--the right pholks are gonna come along, it's just a matter of time. Then they're going to want it "yesterday" Rest up now.... ;)

I see Soozle down there <waving> missed you :D

Ranger Soo--me dad was surrounded by 3 daughters and me mum.....so much estrogen  Our poor dads were out numbered!

Loving the cycle-co-ink-y-dinks emerging amongst the phemale sillies. When I was working, I became good friends wif a girl there and I swear after many months our cycles got closer to where they overlapped. Now neither one of us has to contend wif it anymore, as our hysters have since been removed :P

thanks Patritia

Sills

HEY! Soooozle is squiggling at, what.....5 am her time?? And Joooodie, typing away, a maelstrom of creativity, at the same ungodly hour.... . . ....

Well, it's just after 8 here, much more civilized, and it is the first day of school for the public board. DD goes to get her timetable, then returns home to spend the rest of the day on facebook, ranting and squealing about how Jason R. looked like such a doofus in homeroom, and who's in my physics class? And I can't believe Mr. Stokes still wears those glasses....... . . ...

The Ripper, however, has other things in store for him today. He begins school next week, and this afternoon he gets his braces installed.

He ate an entire bowl of popcorn for supper last night, as it will be off-limits for the next two to three years. Then he put four pieces of bubble gum in his mouth and chewed madly for an hour. Crap, I do hope he did not go to bed with this massive wad of gum still in his mouth. When I did this as a kid, it always ended up embedded in my hair. <_<

flourgirl Apprentice

Yeah.....tell us about the gum!! Poor kid.....havin' 'is last meal treats.

GJewD....I have not heard about this tradition of smothering the saints in the dirt either  Hope it works anyway!

SiblINgs...I have 3 brothers....4 sisters. My Dad not only ran a small farm, but worked full time in a mill, and in his spare time helped out on his sisters farm. Hmmmmm......I wonder why? I always thought it was to support his large brood......but there may have been some other motive....now that I think about it  I do know that being a "good worker" was always the highest of compliments my parents could make of anybody. Somehow....most of us grew up to be workaholics, and measure out self-worth by "what we do". Good ol' American Work Ethic, don't cha know.

Psuessle.....just what is it that you are up to these days? Just wonderin'

For my family size....

Me and my two younger sisters who were adopted

But whilest we grew up, my parents took foster kids so there was always 6 kids- us 3 and then usually 2-3 toddlers or 2 toddlers and an infant. My mom had a lot of brand new preemies and such.

Quite a busy house- 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom until we remodeled and then got 2 bathes....1 room was mine, 1 for my sisters and there was a nursery.

My parents retired from foster care in the spring and they did it from the time I was 3 until I was 26 and they had over 125 kids in our home....some stayed overnight some stayed for a few years....never a dull moment and we enjoyed every minute of it.

My dad worked fulltime and my mom stayed at home with the kids.

Sniffles n poos n persnickety people don't appreciate Joodee's bootiful house. N cinnamon buns.

These are a few of my favorite things...when the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling menstrual sad..........I simply remember me sniffles and poos and then I don't feel so bad :P

My poor dad too (but only 2 girls) but he grew up with 5 older sisters and said he preferred women because he grew up learning how to deal with them  If he only knew what he had coming when he bought us at Kmart   Me and my sis were "kind of" a handful  Oh wait- we still are :P

A beuuuuuutiful day in Ohio. But, I am gggroaningly mad. Overnight, the racoons attacked my garden and ate all but 1 lousy ear of corn. Thats 3, 40 foot rows! Earlier in the season the small critters ate all my lettuce, chard, and green beans. All I have left are mators and plumkins!

Juds- want to trade houses? Too many critters around here.

Emilase- you can send that trash barrel to Juudee to surprize the new people.

Phloosy sillies- glad youre pheelin better.

And to all you cyclical sills- When I was phifty, One month I had my "visiter" , the next month I didn't. And that was the end of that. Never even had a hot phlash (thaught I did once, but it was 102 out, and it was a collective hot phlush).

Yes, roomates tend to cycle together. It's good Sven, and lowers there carbon foot-print.

I'mm losing my trane of thaught, iph I ever had one. Maybe it's critter madness. Later.

I can't agree 100%, because anything that has to do with sex, they notice--everything else, not so much  I think if you needed to get attention you just say "wanna have sex" then when they look up and say "what?" You say,

" please take out the trash" :D

I might suggest you consider buckwheat groats. https://www.amazon.com/Anthonys-Organic-Hulled-Buckwheat-Groats/dp/B0D15QDVW7/ref=sr_1_4_pp?crid=GOFG11A8ZUMU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.bk-hCrXgLpHqKS8QJnfKJLKbKzm2BS9tIFv3P9HjJ5swL1-02C3V819UZ845_kAwnxTUM8Qa69hKl0DfHAucO827k_rh7ZclIOPtAA9KjvEEYtaeUV06FJQyCoi5dwcfXRt8dx3cJ6ctEn2VIPaaFd0nOye2TkASgSRtdtKgvXEEXknFVYURBjXen1Nc7EtAlJyJbU8EhB89ElCGFPRavEQkTFHv9V2Zh1EMAPRno7UajBpLCQ-1JfC5jKUyzfgsf7jN5L6yfZSgjhnwEbg6KKwWrKeghga8W_CAhEEw9N0.eDBrhYWsjgEFud6ZE03iun0-AEaGfNS1q4ILLjZz7Fs&dib_tag=se&keywords=buckwheat%2Bgroats&qid=1769980587&s=grocery&sprefix=buchwheat%2Bgroats%2Cgrocery%2C249&sr=1-4&th=1 Takes about 10 minutes to cook. Incidentally, I don't like quinoa either. Reminds me and smells to me like wet grass seed. When its not washed before cooking it makes me ill because of saponins in the seed coat. Yes, it can be difficult to get much dietary calcium without dairy. But in many cases, it's not the amount of calcium in the diet that is the problem but the poor uptake of it. And too much calcium supplementation can interfere with the absorption of vitamins and minerals in general because it raises gut pH.

What you’re describing really does not read like typical IBS-D. The dramatic, rapid normalization of stool frequency and form after removing wheat, along with improved tolerance of legumes and plant foods, is a classic pattern seen in gluten-driven disease rather than functional IBS. IBS usually worsens with fiber and beans, not improves. The fact that you carry HLA-DQ2.2 means celiac disease is absolutely possible, even if it’s less common than DQ2.5, and many people with DQ2.2 present later and are under-diagnosed. Your hesitation to reintroduce gluten is completely understandable — quality of life matters — and many people in your position choose to remain strictly gluten-free and treat it as medically necessary even without formal biopsy confirmation. If and when you’re ready, a physician can help you weigh options like limited gluten challenge, serology history, or documentation as “probable celiac.” What’s clear is that this wasn’t just random IBS — you identified the trigger, and your body has been very consistent in its response.

oh that's interesting... it's hard to say for sure but it has *seemed* like oats might be causing me some vague issues in the past few months. It's odd that I never really connect specific symptoms to foods, it's more of an all over feeling of unwellness after  eating them.  If it happens a few times after eating the same foods- I cut back or avoid them. for this reason I avoid dairy and eggs.  So far this has worked well for me.  oh, I have some of Bob's Red Mill Mighty Tasty Hot cereal and I love it! it's hard to find but I will be looking for more.  for the next few weeks I'm going to be concentrating on whole fresh fruits and veggies and beans and nuts and seeds. I'll have to find out if grains are truly necessary in our diet. I buy brown rice pasta but only eat that maybe once a month at most. Never liked quinoa. And all the other exotic sounding grains seem to be time consuming to prepare. Something to look at later. I love beans and to me they provide the heft and calories that make me feel full for a lot longer than a big bowl of broccoli or other veggies. I can't even tolerate the plant milks right now.  I have reached out to the endo for guidance regarding calcium intake - she wants me to consume 1000mgs from food daily and I'm not able to get to more than 600mgs right now.  not supposed to use a supplement until after my next round of testing for hyperparathyroidism.   thanks again- you seem to know quite a bit about celiac.

Welcome to the celiac.com community, @SilkieFairy! You could also have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) as opposed to celiac disease. They share many of the same symptoms, especially the GI ones. There is no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out.
