Hey Bunnie & Rachelle are back! (Ugh I keep slipping w/ brainfog etc but I'm mostly trying to keep up)

Loved reading your seafaring tales Jess. :)

Jestgar Rising Star

Hey TomTom! Keep brushing away that brain fog -- eventually it will stay gone. :)

Next upcoming saga: The house sitter stole some of the Pirate's mail and took my truck joyriding. I tried to give him an out and let him blame it on a friend but he kept insisting he knew nothing about a missing package....until the officer showed up at his job and informed him that he'd left the packaging at my house...

He, and one or more of his parents are coming over tonight to return the bulbs and learn that "joyriding" in WA state is a felony. Should be an interesting evening.

He stole flower or light bulbs? Somethings wrong with that boy!

He's a bit of a dim bulb

light bulbs. led bulbs from China. Yes, dim bulb sums it up. His dad is disgusted and can't even talk to him. Not looking forward to lunch with his mom on Friday. She's one of my good friends, and I see this entirely as the kid's (24, not really a kid) problem. But I imagine that a parent would feel a lot of negative things in this situation.

I would be mortified if my kid did that at 16 or 36. I guess I would feel like I didn't teach him like I should.

J doesn't really have a summer job, so if you want to sail the 7 seas all summer.....he always liked the chickens at the petting zoo & The neighborhood Evil Kitty always liked him better than his own family. He could build an elevator for the chickies or build a robot to feed the kitties in his spare time. Maybe re- paint your truck?

Good to know. Maybe he could build a self closing door to the coop that's keyed to the amount of sunlight.

Either that or he could train Seuss, the rooster, to tap a button and shut the door when all the girls are inside.

curlyfries Contributor

Well.

Jess's saga ends with sunshine, chatting up the locals, a nice hot bath, and a 24 year old delinquent. Boy, unemployment doesn't sound too bad! (minus the delinquent)

Good to have Thoughmus,BunBun, and Rayshell back in the fold ^_^ Now all we need is Soozle. I hear she's been peeking in unnoticed.

Soooo.....who here has today ever found a bullet in their bedroom with a hole in their wall and picture frame?

Time to move, methinks

Bullet in yer bedroom?!?! MOOOOOVE!!

Wells, veg has known the caveman her entire life. Turns out, after 34 years they have a few things in common-other than their diets.... He has helped her understand that it's ok, and good, to be happy in her life. That she IS a good mom and a good person. And that she's not a dead fish..... That's as far as I'm going on that one... Lmao!! She goes fishing, 4wheeling in the woods, sleeps on a float house with NO indoor plumbing, sleeps in a cabin in the woods with no running water, propane lights, and NOOOOO INDOOR PLUMBING!! She snowboards and snowmobiles, she goes on freakin ROAD TRIPS-she thought she HATED road trips!!! She also loves his family (and grew up with them too. Caveman Sr. saved her life from drowning when she was 2). But most importantly, she smiles and laughs like a giggly little girl. And she's happy :)

Well there's a no contact order for the guy who stole my car awhile back, but I doubt he'd be THAT stupid

I'm not known for pissing people off, but I come across quite a few juvenile delinquents working at a middle school <_<

Most likely a result of horseplay......I hope

This is all good :D She is living life and she is happy. We told you all those things too, you know :o - well, not the part about the dead fish - not enough information on that one

curlyfries Contributor

Awwwwww.........that's awesome! Except.......

The only thing I hate more than being COLD is NO indoor plumbing! (picked up on that real quick, I did :P )

....and road trips depend on the driver and/or the company. Can't stand hubby's driving, so road trips are out for me too.

I'm getting the impresion that NO INDOOR PLUMBING is doable with the right company also

So glad the veg and the caveman are so compatible ;)

Well, she used to be called a dead fish. She is no longer called a dead fish.....

She doesn't mind the peeing in a bucket thing. Thought she would. But when the company is amazing and you gotta go... You gotta go!! And she's never ever worried about being cold!! ;)

It can be done -- this is exactly what old Mr. Guthrie has been trained to do at my mom's retirement residence.

My kid is a little delinquent. Not sure how much is him being a 6yo boy and how much of it is the divorce. He took a bark chip and wrote "ass" on the gym door a few times. He makes the worst choices and doesn't think AT ALL about the consequences. I don't know what to do. Therapist? Prison? I've taken away everything in his life except food and bathroom privilages and added more homework of my choosing...

:blink::blink::blink:

Jestgar Rising Star

Tell him if he's going to be vandalizing other people's property he'd better have nice writing and make him practice letters for a couple hours a day?

Have an extremely detailed discussion about body parts and tell him he needs to understand what he's writing? That next time you expect to see Open Original Shared Link?

Is there a digestive enzyme that helps build a healthier gut? I see people taking them but not sure what really works
    • trents
So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352

      Thank you this really helped.

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.
