OK, that was the first time I did that . . ." so-n-so said" thing . . . Did I do that right? Was there suppose to be quotes or anything? Emoticons? No Emoticons?

Feedback? Anyone?

Okay...Judy needs a part in our parade, guys. Judy, can you twirl your cane like a baton? We've got this Yeti, see, and...then, Chuck Norris is with Danny, Wegman's CEO, in our Care Bears Float, and some retrofitted machine-guns, and Charlton Heston T-bagging MJ......

So, a cane-twirler is obviously needed. Unless that would be a bit silly. We certainly wouldn't want that.

:lol::lol:

WEEEEEEEEEEllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll...if it's a parade I'll need a wheelchair ..........decorated of course with lots of crape paper and flags........................so then i can twirl the cane............hell MAYBE I CAN TWIRL 2 USING BOTH HANDS............

lord you guys are 'wordy' I came up to do a email and THERE WERE 32 ALERTS FROM THIS FRIGGING THREAD...................... GOING TO HAVE TO JUST 'DROP IN' AND UNLINK THIS SUCKER..............

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST HIDDEN SECRET ON THE ENTIRE BOARD.

THANKS FOR THE FUN...............i'LL BE BACK.

YOUR AVATARS ARE THE BEST.

At first we thought he was a wookie because he "talks" like Chewbacca but a few nights ago we realized he is the goat sucker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He seems to like his new nickname though!

The (temporary) Queen has just realized she doesn't know what she is doing in the parade??  :o

Shall the parade continue to grow?

elye Community Regular

Yes, the Parade MUST continue to grow! We've now got Danny...

How about Scott? May be good having some administrative clout marching along. He could attempt to keep us all in line...

Let's ask him.

Subject: Simple Test for Smart People

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

Darn210 Enthusiast

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Darn210 Enthusiast

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?

Wrong Answer

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All of the animals attend... except one. Which animal does not attend?

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

Well, first off, you need to let the yeti out to make room...

Darn210 Enthusiast

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory. Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?

Darn210 Enthusiast

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.

Well, maybe he is in your house. We find ours is more comfortable in the side-by-side upstairs.(more leg room) B)

Richard, I find your new avatar more disturbing than the one with everyone in the tub . . . just the expression on Susie's face . . . it doesn't LOOK like she is enjoying her kiss from Del Toro.

I assume that you already know that genetic testing for celiac disease cannot be used to confirm a celiac diagnosis. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. It can be used to rule out celiac disease with a high degree of confidence, however, in the case where the genetic testing is negative for the genes. Until and unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac disease I would not raise this as an issue with family. However, if you are diagnosed with celiac disease through blood antibody testing and/or endoscopy with positive biopsy I would suggest you encourage first degree relatives to also purse testing because there is a significant chance (somewhere betwee 10% and almost 50%, depending on which studies you reference) that they will also have or will develop active celiac disease. Often, there are symptoms are absent or very minor until damage to the small bowel lining or other body systems becomes significant so be prepared that they may blow you off. We call this "silent celiac disease".

If you were off gluten for two months that would have been long enough to invalidate the celiac blood antibody testing. Many people make the same mistake. They experiment with the gluten free diet before seeking formal testing. Once you remove gluten from the diet the antibodies stop being produced and those that are already in circulation begin to be removed and often drop below detectable levels. To pursue valid testing for celiac disease you would need to resume gluten consumption equivalent to the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread daily for at least two weeks, preferably longer. These are the most recent guidelines for the "gluten challenge". Without formal testing there is no way to distinguish between celiac disease and gluten sensitivity since their symptoms overlap. However, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the small bowel lining, not true of gluten sensitivity. There is no test available for gluten sensitivity so celiac disease must first be ruled out. By the way, elevated liver enzymes was what led to my celiac diagnosis almost 25 years ago.
