Hi, Susie!

Oh, crrrrrrrrraaaaaap..... :(

I'm so sorry you've got this crap goin' on.

I just keep wanting to say, what can I do? But of course, you're not just next door! Again, though, we know you've got your David, now....this makes me feel much better. :)

Yes--Emily said this so well. I wish there was something I could do--I know we are all very supportive of one another, but sometimes it is just so limiting :(

You know what I mean ;)

I, too, am grateful that you have David there with you....you know, I kinda really understand how you feel. I don't travel well (I've gone into detail ad nauseum) and I know that next week--after a weekend of non-stop people and all the talking, drinking, not eating like usual--I will most definately need time to myself to come down from the whole thing. I will be utterly exhausted and almost over stimulated--

I don't know, Susie, hopefully after a day or two of getting back into your normal routine things will begin to look up. Be patient with yourself :)

Ohhhh thank you, my lovely girls. :) I really do just need tons of sleep, good food, and time to myself, most likely. Time to readjust - - Patti, sounds like you understand....we are just not good travelers. Well, I know *I'M* not - it makes me sad.....I envy people who can just go - think nothing about it - and everything's fine. :(

Gotta run, again. Picking up Kissey to go to Jenn's (aka Fluffy Cat - we are now calling her our daughter  ) and set up her stereo, etc. I just want to go to bed, this instant.......

I really do wish you a;; - WE all - were closer. We could drink absinthe tea and just commiserate and laugh and howl and cry and sympathize.

WELCOME home susie Q

I so agree. It's hard to pack for us to go............and I ALWAYS need at least a week to re-group.

You'll be fine........hugs, love and kisses to Annie.

But.......maybe Ptaum isn't really doing it......perhaps THAT was the April fools trick. Maybe he's feeling incredible (gee, it'd be great if this is the case)!

Humaworm

Two questions- Is it hum-a-worm (like Hummer Worm in Boston speak) or hume-a-worm?

More importantly Ptaum, are you prepared for what is gonna come out your bum bum? I scared (that's 4 year old speak).

I would have you guys over EVERYDAY if we lived closer. Sigh- it does get lonely when everyone around you has a job........Law and Order only goes so far!!!!!

Susie- Vegas is designed to mess with you...no clocks, exits hard to find, all the bright lights. Get lots of rest and drink water and eat your veggies. I would tuck you in with a wee spray o' lavender on your pillow (but I'm SURE David can do it!)

Where is everyone? Patti? Nikki? Sarah? And we haven't heard from Alex lately...I think about Colin all the time, and I'm dying to hear how he's doing...

That's very sweet that you think about Colin and how he's doing. He's had his peaks and valleys which is to be expected I guess but definite overall improvement. Good story . . . Colin called me today to say that he couldn't stand the gluten-free diet anymore and didn't think it was worth it. Of course I was upset and worried and begged him not to do it. He let me go on for a couple of minutes and then interrupted me with . . . April Fools! His sense of humour coming out is definitely a good sign!

Just bonkers and overwhelmed and crazy and sad. What in hell?

Las Vegas is bonkers and overwhelming and crazy so maybe it just made you temporarily a little wackl? When I went to Vegas as a kid, my mom ended up staying in the hotel room with Colin much of the time because he was so stressed and out of sorts from the experience which was pretty uncharacteristic of him at the time. But whatever it is, I hope it passes quickly.

I went to Vegas as a 'gluten brain' and it was OVER WHELM time for me then. Wouldn't go back even now........too much stimulation for me pea brain.

Alex...so happy about Colin..........I've been following you..........the sense of humor is a good sign.

April really IS a good month for everyone on here!

In my world, April brings me the birthday of sweet niece # 1, the 39th anniversary of my wonderful parents, and birthday #27 for Eric!

Susie, Hope you have some time to recover from your trip!!!

 the BARPHS first??????? OMG - - it's kind of embarassing.

I'm taking an antibiotic, and it did say upon googling that it is most important to NOT drink whilst taking, even for three days after cessation of treatment. So - I stopped the treatment on Friday (had only had two days of treatment). OMG - - it's very true - you canNOT drink on this stuff. I had not had an extraordinary amount of alcohol......and just start barphing rather quickly. In the cab...on the way home. I opened the door twice, during the very SHORT ride, and just hurled. The poor cab driver was quite worried......and so anywho - I barphed one more time in the hotel. In Jenn's bathroom.

Susie! I must ask one crucial question! What antibiotic was this??????????

Guys we are having the craziest weather here! Tonight it is 68 at 10:30 at night, Jen and I just came in we took Landen and her doggies for a walk around our housing development, the winds are a bit strong but other than that the weather is great.

How is everyone else.

Alex good to see you again :)

Susie Vegas is crazy!!!!

Good Morning, Sillies!

Well, your splendid winds have made their way up here, Amanda...the trees are being buffeted about like crazy. Gus is standing out in the yard, snuffling and sneezing--quite phunny!

All the talk about birthdays, and I never once even THOUGHT ABOUT my DH's, which falls on the 9th. Gad......another subscription to Runner's World? New putter? New shaving bag? Ugh, men........ <_<

Morning Sillies, what a difference 12 hrs makes. It goes from being like 70 to 30 this morning....The temp actually started to drop after I posted last night, before we went to bed at 11:30 it was down in the 50's but felt colder due to the winds.

Emily....forgot the birthday is on the 9th? Well you still have a few days ;)

Susie are you feeling more relaxed and rested today?

Sarah how is the mountain?

How is everyone else doing?

Hi Amanda--

I'm getting some things done around here--just put a loaf of bread and some rolls in the oven....

Allo must be feeling better....I was playing with him a while ago, and he bit me! Now I have a nice scratch on my thumb <_<

Are you feeling better this morning? Hopefully Susie got a good night's sleep last night and is taking it easy today.

Where IS everybody?

Just what is 'whelm' and why do we feel bad when we're over it?

Lucky was in rare form yesterday too Patti, I picked him up so I could close the patio door since it was getting chilly and we were heading to bed, he swatted me....I am so glad he is declawed in front. He loves open windows and doors...but still

Alex- that's AWESOME! It's one thing for an adult to go gluten-free because for the most part, you get it (although some don't) but kids have a harder time because they don't want to be different. He's a trooper!!!!!!!!!!

Patti

A. Coming over for fresh bread

B. You remind me so much of my mom- I think it's that you have a similar personality and Allo looks like our first kitty and my mom was always playing with the cat and getting bit.

Just what is 'whelm' and why do we feel bad when we're over it?

  I always liked "underwhelmed". "You know that was pretty good, but honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed," she thought as she counted the tiles on the ceiling" :P

Hey, Patti, this is good news! The old gentleman gave you what for...

Just what is 'whelm' and why do we feel bad when we're over it?

I suspect that Whelm was in fact a man...probably a German man...say, Whelm Schmidt. He had a series of torrid love affairs, and left a trail of young maid's broken hearts in his wake. The word is from the resounding depression and helplessness of these poor girls as this rogue moved on to his next conquest....the feeling of grief, of trying to get overWhelm.

Uh.....I have no idea where this word comes from.<_<

How are you today, Susie? Come and tell us.....

It looks like their most recent clinical trial just finished up on 5-22-2025.
    • Fabrizio
Dear Scott,  please check the link https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05574010?intr=KAN-101&rank=1 What do you think about it?

KAN‑101 is still very much in development and being actively studied. It has not been dropped—rather, it is advancing through Phases 1 and 2, moving toward what could become the first disease‑modifying treatment for celiac disease. https://anokion.com/press_releases/anokion-announces-positive-symptom-data-from-its-phase-2-trial-evaluating-kan-101-for-the-treatment-of-celiac-disease/

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.
    • badastronaut
Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?
