We have almost made a decision on what to name our son. This is such a big decision!

Our current first choice is Tyler James. My only concern is that Tyler is the 16th most popular name. I wonder if there will be 3 Tyler's in school with him and that will be an issue.

Our second choices are Charlie (name him Charles, call him Charlie) and Jackson, but we haven't picked out middle names for those. I have always loved these names but my husband suggested Tyler and it just felt right.

Any advice? My husband mentioned asking his mother before we chose a name. I told him I thought it was our decision and she will learn to like it, no matter what.

We googled Tyler James and no mass murders came up and his initials woud be TJM so that doesn't spell anything bad. Anything else that we need to think about?

Tyler James is such a nice name.....For our children, we used my fathers middle name for our son and my husbands mothers middle name for our daughter. Whatever you choose, I am sure that it will be just perfect for your son! :)

I love the name Tyler!!

I wanted it for my youngest - but hubby wasn't keen :angry:

We couldn't agree on a name until my Mum suggested Martin (with Tyler as a middle name ;) )

..But, I like Charlie as well!! :)

Tyler is a great name. Plus, if he really hates his name when he gets older, he will be able to go by TJ, that's cute too. So it's kind of win win. I love it.

I like Tyler also - I would definitely be calling him Ty for short though.....

I still am disappointed that I didn't get to name on of the twins Brady. I soooooo wanted my Brady. We knew we were naming one of them Daniel - after all, being Irish, we had to have our Danny Boy! But I wanted Brady for twin #2 and Terry wanted Connor, so what do we do? We let our oldest daughter decide! She picked Connor :angry:<_<<_<

Oh well.......

I like the names you have picked out. Definitely go with your "gut".

(the problem with asking someone like your m-i-l is that if you don't pick the name she likes.....;))

I like all of the names you are considering.

With our second, my husband and I couldn't choose between two names--we kept going between the two. Right after he was born, we looked at him, and both said--Matthew! :D

Whatever you decide, it will be the right choice :)

I like Tyler, but I then again I have one of my own. We call him Ty which is less common than Tyler. Love Charlie as well, and I sort of think Jacksons are gaining popularity. If he has to be one of 3 in class I'd rather him be a Tyler than a Jackson. Personally, we only know one other Tyler but he spells it Tylor.

I really think we are going to go with Tyler, and probably call him Ty at least some of the time. My husband is ok with me calling my belly Tyler now, so that is a good step in the right direction. Glad to see other people like the choice.

When my husband and I were choosing our son's name, we opened the back door and hollered each of the options out across the neighborhood. The one that sounded best is the one we chose.

Tyler is a good name; not too trendy, can be pronounced without getting lessons on how to say it. Only drawback these days is names like Tyler could be a girl or a boy. I don't know if that matters to you I used to know a man named Robin and a girl named Robin. I don't know how I feel about that.

Also note to all MIL's who want to control the name: have your own baby and then you can name it youself. MYOB.

I think Tyler James is a fine name. So are Charles and Jackson. You really can't go wrong if you like the name, and it suits your baby. In terms of popularity...so what? I was one of three Michelles in my grade throughout elementary school. Not a problem. My youngest, Olivia, will be going to school with many Olivias (it was #8 the year she was born.)

Personally, I don't like sharing names with others, especially family, until the baby is born and named. There are too many opinions to the contrary. Picking a name is just too special to involve anyone but you and your immediate family (spouse & perhaps children.)

If we were going to have kids, we'd name our boys Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee.

Can you tell what region of the country we live in? :P :P :P

I like the names you have chosen as well.

As far as others opinions......if you didn't have a name that you liked you could consider asking for ideas.....but definately not necessary. There is a couple I know that couldn't decide on a name until the baby was born.

All my children were named after bible names and no other family name was used (aside from our last name :lol:).

My daughters name is harder to pronounce and not real common. I have run across another one in the same HMO that we were in when she was a baby though. That girl was probably about 6 years older than mine.

My husband and I had our names picked out before the baby was born. We didn't know what we were having for the first two. My daughter so wanted me to have twins the last pregnancy so she could have a sister. She still wants a sister. Oh well.

I like all the name you've picked. I'm kinda partial to Charlie though. My favorite cats name was Charlie :P

When my husband and I were pregnant with our son (1st born) we were planning on naming him Sean (after hubby's bf) Then, I was sitting at the dinner table with my Mom and it just came to me, "August". She looked at me and said, "that was my grandfathers name!" My husband and I knew we had found our boy's name. It fits him perfectly :wub:

You will know what to name your son, you will feel it :)

I vote for Charles. It is actually one of the names that I want but I can't seem to get my husband on board. :) Tyler is a very nice name as well but speaking as someone who has had 9 friends give birth this year alone, and 8 more who are currently pregnant (no I am not exaggerating, it's genuinely bizarre) I can tell you that Tyler is going to be a very common name. He will probably be one of four Tylers in his class that will probably include five girls named Taylor. Apparently Taylor is the new Jennifer. However, since it is going to be his name forever I say if you really like Tyler than go for it. You have to pick something you love.

As for popularity...I've been teaching for ten years and have never had a student named Tyler.

Harrison ? My friend called her son that and its a great name if you like it :lol: Harry or Harrison for later. I had a list of names but never was able to have kids - so Tobias, Rupert, Broderick.....( you should see my girls list ! )

Tyler is nice but a top female singer was Bonnie Tyler going back a while. How about Taylor ?

Robin is boy and Robyn is girl but seems mixed up now.

Last night we officially decided on Tyler James! I'm very happy with our choice and glad to have the decision behind now. Now I'm going to start on his room and buying all the gear he will need.

I can't think of a better name. I absolutely love Tyler James (and Ty for short).

      Is there a digestive enzyme that helps build a healthier gut? I see people taking them but not sure what really works

      So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped".       hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood t...

      Thoughts? Non-endoscopic Celiac diagnosis in two year old

      Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong. yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.

      So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

      hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352
