Feeling Worse After A Bm

Please don't think I'm a freak. I've noticed that I feel generally worse AFTER a bowel movement. It doesn't matter if the movement was 'normal' or slightly soft, I feel gross for hours afterwards (spend most of my days mildly constipated...I wonder if that matters). Does this happen to anyone else?

I don't feel gross, but I do sometimes feel weird. Sometimes, after a bm, I can't stand up straight. It is almost as if my bowel emptying itself knocked the rest of my innards out of line. When I asked my doc about it, she said it is probably the muscles working that are still cramped up. I don't know, I just know I feel weird and don't like not being able to stand up straight after a bm!

This happend to me often before I started the gluten free diet. I'd also feel a little nauseated after a BM. I haven't had that problem since going gluten free. I was very C all the time pre gluten-free, even though I had regular BM's, but am only occasionally C since going gluten-free.

Plantime, I also felt like that sometimes pre gluten-free.

Yes, this used to happen to me frequently--both before I started the diet, and for some time after. Gradually, it stopped happening

I feel like that when I've been glutened, when things just aren't working right. I wouldn't worry about anyone here thinking you're a freak. Everyone has their problems and symptoms. Hope you feel better.

How long have you been on the gluten-free diet? These symptoms may improve after several months on the diet. You may want to tell you doctor because there could be another reason.

this happens to me too. After being on the gluten-free diet (2 months now) it has improved slightly...but not much. It's usually happens about an hour or two after a bm and i feel really bloated again. It's a really uncomfortable feeling...like i'll only feel bloated on my right side...or vice versa. I hope it goes away soon!

This still happens to me sometimes, but it used to happen all the time in the begining. I felt as if my stomach was doing twists, and sometimes that nausea feeling. Like I said every now and again it happens but since being on the diet for some time it has helped.

I'll feel sore along the lower colon after a bm. It might be diverticulitis, I always wondered about it too. It mostly hurts when the bm's are hard to push and I don't feel like I finished the job. So its not with every bm. Lately I've been having more nuts like walnuts on my salad and noticed I had this last night and then this morning I noticed your post so its comforting to know others have this too.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
