Has anyone tried the gluten free pizza at Cafe Formaggio in Westbury, New York? I have never been there but someone told me that they advertised having gluten free pizza on the radio. Does anyone know any more about this?

Thanks

No, put I'm definately going to find out about this. My inlaws live in Manhassett and we always go to Outback in Westbury with them. This would be great.

Edited: I just called to find out if they have gluten free pizza, and the person I spoke with had no idea what I was talking about, asked someone else and said no. Sorry.

Ok, well I just heard the radio advertisement for myself recently and they say that they have "gluten free whole wheat pizza." LOL. Obviously, someone's a bit confused!

Jillian,

Did you know there is a pizzeria on Plandome rd. in manhasset with gluten-free pizza?? It is called Villa Milano I think. We had a pizza party at work and they ordered from there only to find out they had gluten-free pizza. It was pretty good!

Cafe Formaggio does have gluten free pasta listed on their menu so maybe that's where the confusion originated from:

I haven't tried them yet, but my wife and I plan on going when we get a chance.

Cafe Formaggio does have gluten free pizza and pasta now. I went there a few weeks ago and tried the pizza. It was very good and it tasted very similar to the pizza at Villa Milano in Manhassett. There is also another place nearby in Garden City that has gluten free pizza. It is called Plum Pizza. I believe all of the places order the crust from the same company, Still Riding Pizza, which is based in Connecticut.

I have actually gone to Cafe Formaggio twice since originally reading this post. Both times I ordered take out pasta dishes, and both times it was delicious.

It is the same as Villa Milano. They both use Still Riding Pizza. So does Plum Pizza. Check the website for Still Riding Pizza stillridingpizza.com

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.

I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50. US 2024 - Increased Risk of Herpes Zoster Infection in Patients with Celiac Disease 50 Years Old and Older Sweden 2018 - Increased risk of herpes zoster in patients with coeliac disease - nationwide cohort study

BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.
