I got favorite Hoodie in a free sample kit thinking I would use it as an eyeshadow only. I couldn't imagine using brown blush. But I tried it today as a blush, and it looks surprisingly good. Quite warm and nice. I am using it as an eyeshadow today too, so it all ties together.

Speaking of brown blush, I really love daydream. It's a soft earthy brown with hints of pink and peach.

I was on the Everyday Minerals Site the other day and someone posted a comment about how there is a guy on you tube doing a video comparing Mac brushes to brushes you can get at the craft store.

The brushes are for tole painting/canvas painting. The videos were really interesting.

Just thought I would let you know since you are maybe looking for more brushes :)

Hi GLutenGal, thanks for this info.

 Just when I think I have my blush selections down..........

Still working on my cart, I've added another sample kit to try out another foundation category- Beige.

I already have Cool and Buff.

I don't think I fit the Olive category, or the Warm because I don't tan (or if I do it takes a lot of burns to get to that tan  )...that leaves Golden, which I might still try.

Miss Mango, how does Daydream compare to Waffle Cone??

ShadowSwallow Newbie

Hey Everyone,

Today's been a "bad" day, so I'm not even dressed yet. No makeup for me today. <_<

Yesterday I went over to my friend's house (who I converted to EM) and we had a bit of eyeshadow fun. :D I sold her my ChitChat blush (too pink for me!) and my Silk Dust powder, and she gave me a sample of Sunkissed Fair foundation to try, since she agrees that Multi-Tasking Neutral isn't quite right. :)

I'm still mulling over my next order.

I will know the answer to that soon. :) I don't yet have Waffle Cone but it is in my cart. I've heard Waffle Cone is a slightly more shimmery version of Email Me (Email Me is in my cart too).

:( Sorry you are having a bad day.

Is the sunkissed fair you have darker than multi-tasking? I ordered it b/c everyone says it is such a similar color, but the sunkissed I got is quite a bit darker and more orange than multi.

Does anyone have the sunlight finishing powder? (Donna? LOL) I'm thinking of getting it as an attempt to neutralize the pink in multi-tasking. I don't know what it is though, as I can't find the ingredients. Is it corn starchy?

Yes, I have sunlight finishing powder, lol! I've got it on both lightly under and over my ivory foundation today. It's pretty translucent, so I'm not sure it would totally tone down the pink unless you put a lot on, lol. It might help a little though. I think it probably has cornstarch in it, but I'm really not sure.

Birdy, sorry today is not such a good day for you :(

Thanks Mango, I wasn't sure if you had Waffle Cone or if it was a color you were eyeing and had in your cart.

I don't know about that mojave camping shade, but glass bottom boat sounds pretty (and I love the name).

Did they ever make new car smell an actual color, or did that one just bomb?

Not posting or reading much because I am so busy right now, just wanted to say that my samples should come tomorrow. Its been a month!! First order got lost in the computer, when I put the replacement order in I flipped the order of my address number and didn't catch it. It came all the way to my post office and they sent it back to Texas--but it has yet to reach EM. :( I finally reordered just a sample kit on Tuesday and it should arrive tomorrow perhaps or at least Monday.

Then I ordered a mini kit and an eye shadow kit yesterday. I got a free consult on eye makeup when I happened by the Clinique counter yesterday and that gave me some good ideas. Couldn't use any clinique products because none were safe for me, but they were nice about it (and I told them up front.) They did give me two free samples, and the ingredients are okay too. So anyway, I am anxious to have some eye colors to play around with, I have only had one so far in my sample kits and I am tired of it!! LOL! All of your posts make me want to experiment.

Hey everyone,

Julie, I'm still checking in and keeping up with the thread. I've been waiting it out until the new special. I think I'm going to wait a while to order for now. I'd like to be able to either get sample sizes of the blushes or see the new color photos before I order more blushes. Unless of course this takes too long. I might just order an eye shadow kit and a the angled blush brush though for now. Not sure...

I don't know what happened to New Car Smell  Maybe it stunk

Glad you got some ideas at the CLinique counter, you'll have fun experimenting with your new colors that are on their way!

Hi Joni, I was beginning to think you ran off with the other mineral make-up cults

I am with you, kind of taking a wait and see approach, not really sure either what i will decide to do.

Of course I know our fellow cult members would say, "order now and order later":lol:

Oddly I don't have anything in my cart right now...that's never happened before.

My mom commented on my hair and on my makeup today...we had a nice little girly discussion for once. She liked my natural look. That look accomplished by: applying Intensive concealor (the yellow one) all over with a damp sponge, applying 3 layers of foundation, THEN applying some sunlight concealor just on my spots, baby bath and sunset voyage eye colors, then In the Garden at the lashline and as a liner, some mascara, waffle cone blush  , and my peachy tangerine lip gloss. :P:lol:

Kass - thanks for the videos.

I started watching a bunch of the EM videos on you tube yesterday. LOL Some of them are hilarious. "omg I like just ordered a new everyday minerals blush so here is like my review...and omg I don't remember the name of the blush I ordered but like it's a really, really pretty blush...but I don't remember what it's called, I think it was kind of a peachy brown but I like don't remember....." In some of the videos the girls actually show and review their shades though.

So who wants to create a masterpiece make-up video to represent our cult?

Can't do the video...to busy making spreadsheets. Oh, and I don't have a camcorder...wait, my camera takes short videos, lol. Nah, I must relabel my foundation shades to include the categories.

  I have cult confession.

I bought a brush from CVS today! How sad is that? LOL! I couldn't wait for EM to get the flat bursh back in....so I bought this one. It is SO soft that I was petting it as I drove home!;):P Then I dropped it in the car...but was trying to get it out from underneath the seat....almost crashed my car! LOL!

Jestgar Rising Star

If near auto collisions caused by petting a brush doesn't keep this thread on page one, what will???

Today I brushed silver spoon (glittery eye shadow) onto my lashes after mascara. Fun, subtle look.

Your post demonstrates the profound frustration and isolation that so many in the Celiac community feel, and I want to thank you for channeling that experience into advocacy. The medical gaslighting you endured for decades is an unacceptable and, sadly, a common story, and the fact that you now have to "school" your own GI specialist speaks volumes about the critical lack of consistent and updated education. Your idea to make Celiac Disease a reportable condition to public health authorities is a compelling and strategic one. This single action would force the system to formally acknowledge the prevalence and seriousness of the disease, creating a concrete dataset that could drive better research funding, shape medical school curricula, and validate the patient experience in a way that individual stories alone often cannot. It is an uphill battle, but contacting representatives, as you have done with Adam Gray, is exactly how change begins. By framing it as a public health necessity—a matter of patient safety and protection from misdiagnosis and neglect—you are building a powerful case. Your voice and your perseverance, forged through thirty years of struggle, are exactly what this community needs to ensure that no one else has to fight so hard just to be believed and properly cared for.

Navigating medication safety with Celiac disease can be incredibly stressful, especially when dealing with asthma and severe allergies on top of it. While I don't have personal experience with the HealthA2Z brand of cetirizine, your caution is absolutely warranted. The inactive ingredients in pills, known as excipients, are often where gluten can be hidden, and since the FDA does not require gluten-free labeling for prescription or over-the-counter drugs, the manufacturer's word is essential. The fact that you cannot get a clear answer from Allegiant Health is a significant red flag; a company that is confident its product is gluten-free will typically have a customer service protocol to answer that exact question. In situations like this, the safest course of action is to consider this product "guilty until proven innocent" and avoid it. A better alternative would be to ask your pharmacist or doctor to help you identify a major national brand of cetirizine (like Zyrtec) whose manufacturer has a verified, publicly stated gluten-free policy for that specific medication. It's not worth the risk to your health when reliable, verifiable options are almost certainly available to you. You can search this site for USA prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/

What you're describing is indeed familiar to many in the Celiac community, especially in the early stages of healing. When the intestinal villi are damaged from Celiac disease, they struggle to properly digest and absorb fats, a condition known as bile acid malabsorption. This can cause exactly the kind of cramping and spasms you're seeing, as undigested fats can irritate the sensitive gut lining. It is highly plausible that her reactions to dairy and eggs are linked to their higher fat content rather than the proteins, especially since she tolerates lean chicken breast. The great news is that for many, this does improve with time. As her gut continues to heal on a strict gluten-free diet, her ability to produce the necessary enzymes and bile to break down fats should gradually return, allowing her to slowly tolerate a wider variety of foods. It's a slow process of healing, but your careful approach of focusing on low-fat, nutrient-dense foods like seeds and avocado is providing her system the best possible environment to recover. Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The good news is that after your gut heals (for most people who are 100% gluten-free this will take several months to two years) you may be able to slowly add some these items back into your diet after the damaged villi heal. This article may be helpful: Thank you for sharing your story—it's a valuable insight for other parents navigating similar challenges.

I had a very rough month after diagnosis. No exaggeration, lost so much inflammatory weight, I looked like a bag of bones, underneath i had been literally starving to death. I did start feeling noticeably better after a month of very strict control of my kitchen and home. What are you eating for breakfast and lunch? I ignored my doc and ate oats, yes they were gluten free, but some brands are at the higher end of gluten free. Lots of celics can eat Bob's Red Mill gluten-free oats, but not me. I can now eat them, but they have to be grown and processed according to the "purity protocol" methods. I mail order them, Montana Gluten-Free brand. A food and symptoms and activities log can be helpful in tracking down issues. You might be totally aware, but I have to mention about the risk of airborne gluten. As the doc that diagnosed me warned . . Remember eyes, ears, nose, and mouth all lead to your stomach and intestines.  Are you getting any cross contamination? Airborne gluten? Any pets eating gluten (they eat it, lick themselves, you pet them...)? Any house remodeling? We live in an older home, always fixing something. I've gotten glutened from the dust from cutting into plaster walls, possibly also plywood (glues). The suggestions by many here on vitamin supplements also really helped me. I had some lingering allergies and asthma, which are now 99% gone. I was taking Albuterol inhaler every hour just to breathe, but thiamine in form of benfotiamine kicked that down to 1-2 times a day within a few days of starting it. Also, since cutting out inflammatory seed oils (canola, sunflower, grapeseed, etc) and cooking with real olive oil, avocado oil, ghee, and coconut oil, I have noticed even greater improvement overall and haven't used the inhaler in months! It takes time to weed out everything in your life that contains gluten, and it takes awhile to heal and rebuild your health. At first it's mentally exhausting, overwhelming, even obsessive, but it gets better and second nature.
