gluten-free Micro Brews In Ct

My friend works for Stew Leonard's liquor store in Norwalk (across Post Rd from the main store) and she told me they now carry 3 gluten-free beers, at least 2 of them microbrews. I'm not a beerdrinker (wine for me!), but for those who are I know most of their prices are pretty reasonable so worth checking out if it's close to you

Thanks, babysteps!

Several years ago we were on vacation up in CT, and I just loved Stew Leonards! :D Do they still have all the dancing cows and other animated farm animals?

I've been going to Stew Leonard's since I'm a little kid.

When I was first diagnosed I emailed them to ask if they would ever consider doing any gluten free baked goods (because they have incredible baked goods). I got a very curt and rude email that basically in one sentence said, "no they would not."

I was annoyed, but I do still shop there; but on a much more limited basis / shopping list. They have great produce, meats and their fresh mozarella is the best. Around Passover they have a large selection of Shabtai Gourmet cookies, but that seems to be the only gluten-free savory treat I'll ever find there.

Next time you're there, ask them for Gilbert's Goodies cookies. They make 2 kinds of cookies (chocolate chip and cinnamon, I think). They are both very good. I understand Stew's is trying out a few gluen free products to see how they sell, so it wouldn't hurt to send them an email to let them know you're interested.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.

I hope you are on the mend soon. About 1 in 5 people who contracted chicken pox as a child go on to develop shingles in later life - it is not uncommon. There are 5 known members of the herpes virus family including chicken pox that commonly infect humans, and they all cause lifelong infections. The exact cause of viral reactivation as in the case of shingles or cold sores is not well understood, but stress, sunburn and radiotherapy treatment are known triggers. Some of the herpes viruses are implicated in triggering autoimmune diseases: Epstein-Barr virus is suspected of triggering multiple sclerosis and lupus, and there is a case where it is suspected of triggering coeliac disease. As to whether coeliac disease can increase the likelihood of viral reactivation, there have been several cohort studies including a large one in Sweden suggesting that coeliac disease is associated with a moderate increase in the likelihood of developing shingles in people over the age of 50. US 2024 - Increased Risk of Herpes Zoster Infection in Patients with Celiac Disease 50 Years Old and Older Sweden 2018 - Increased risk of herpes zoster in patients with coeliac disease - nationwide cohort study

BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.
