I added this to the end of someone else's post about Chex, but I had to add it here as well. I was so excited in the store the other day when I saw the boxes, I called my Mom immediately to tell her. I am the only Celiac in the family, and no one was excited like I was. Hopefully I'll find a more excited crowd here!

A chex heads up...Rice, Corn, and Honey Nut chex are now all gluten free!!!! I am munching on a box of honey nut ones at the moment. For the honey nut chex, they took out the barley malt and replaced it with molassas and the corn chex I believe was replaced with rice malt. The front of the box now says gluten free and the back of the box has a wonderful little gluten free tidbit. It says "the irresistible flavor and hearty crunch of honey nut chex is now gluten free. Gluten free means that honey nut chex does not contain gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, and barely." Exciting stuff!

Not to me. About the Corn Chex that is. Haven't seen the Gluten Free box of Corn Chex yet. Have seen the Honey and Rice with Gluten Free on the front at Walmart.

Good to hear about the Corn Chex.

I am so waiting for the honey nut & corn chex to hit our area!! It is depressing that you can't have the good cereals. I'm with you, it is exciting news!!

The chocolate and strawberry chex are also gluten-free. They are just harder to find.

Fortunately good news never gets old, and we always have new people that haven't yet heard.

Honey Nut Chex actually does not contain peanuts, so you should be ok. Be aware it does contain almond ingredients however.

Still waiting on the stock at my local Publix to run out so they have to replace it with the newer products. I got tired of eating Rice Chex, so I've been eating waffles. I'm DYING for some Honey Nut ANYTHING!

I found some Honey Nut Chex in Ohio at a Wal-Mart in Mansfield. Let me just say, THEY ARE GREAT!!

Too bad for all of you, I bought them all---just kidding!! :P

Aren't the strawberry supposed to be gluten-free as well?

Thanks! I did not know this and now I do. It is nice to have a widely available brand sold at mainstream stores that I can get when I'm out of my home area and don't know where the local health food store is.

It might be old news for some, but I just found out last week. The chocolate chex are my favorite and it is fabulous to be able to find something yes, in a mainstream store, and at an affordable price. So very nice to be acknowledged and to have something easy and delicious to eat. Wow!

I’m in a flare up with rib pain. I read where others have experienced this after exposure to gluten.  Has anyone found something that eases the pain.

Scott Adams/Trents - Thanks!  I will definitely do some more research.  I welcome any and all advice.

Yes, I've read that online but I was just surprised that no one has mentioned it on this forum specifically.  We have not had our follow up meeting with the Dr where I'm sure she will advise as to how he needs to deal with this ailment.  I have learned from past health issues - if you want to find the REAL truth - talk to someone living with the disease.  THEY will know way more than any doctor ever could.    Thanks for responding.
