Good choice to have the

on the top and next to each other.

No problems with time or any menu functions with safari 4.0.4

Love the new look. Really miss seeing the locations of everyone. This really helped me when someone posted about a store, restaurant, etc. that was in my area of the country.

wildwood Apprentice

Would there be a way to move the "Mark Board As Read" function to the top of the screen, perhaps in the same vicintity as the "View New Content" function?

Thank You!!!!!

I also miss seeing everyone's locations, especially when they're excited about a new restaurant or food source.

From what I saw, most members didn't make that information public anyway. I think it should be easy enough to just mention one's location when called for, if that's what they want to do.

Or people could get in the habit of adding to their sig.

I have noticed when I am typing a response that I can not always see all of the text on a line. The advertisements seem to me to be getting in the way. Also if I happen to proof read my response before posting and I find an error, if I go back up to an area to fix, it the box seems to "jump" and you can not see where your cursor is. You have to scroll down to find it. This happens to me when I edit also. It is very distracting.

I wonder if you are talking about the same thing that is happening to me?. Drives me crazy! It's as if it doesn't give you enough space to type a longer post and instead of having a stable box of a certain size that you can scroll down or up in to see what's outside the boxes parameters, the box itself seems to move but not with the cursor. I don't know how to explain but I think we might be talking about the same thing and I don't think it's due to security settings. It seems to kick in when you've hit line number something.

Can you please tell me what browser you are using, and what version of it? Also, is this only happening when you reply to PM, or is it when you reply to a post, or both? Please be specific so that I can test this and try to fix any issue.

Also, I am checking to see if the poster's location can be added back.

Take care,

Scott

I haven't received any PM's to reply to so far so haven't done that. It's been every time I reply to a post. The length of the post seems to matter. Will get back to you with the other info. you asked for  Unlike the other poster, I didn't notice the advertisements getting in the way as being a factor. I notice as I'm typing this response(that I'm editing after posting) that in the blue space under the box to type in, the Save Changes and other buttons are not fully visible, only just the top portions. The remaining part of the buttons are hiding under the lighter blue strip where the show all button is. I wonder what will happen if I click it? I hadn't tried before. Let's see. OK, nothing happened. I hoped it might be the magic button to make everything visible. Well, time to click that sliver of a button.

Same on my computer, though they still work (Firefox 3.5.7)

By "click it" I meant the "Show All" button. The other buttons, with their bottoms shaved off, work just fine.

Using Firefox (not the latest version), I don't have any trouble with the reply form or the buttons. I've tried it at resolutions of 800x600 and 1024x768. Maybe I'll try using the newest one just to see if the problem others are reporting shows up.

BTW, thread pages are still taking tremendous amounts of time to load, regardless of the number of posts. The list of new content is noticeably faster. And I still get the unresponsive script message when loading random threads. Opening multiple threads in separate tabs...well, forget it. I just tested, and a typical thread takes more than four times longer than the time for the new content and non-forum pages. Sometimes it takes over one and a half minutes to load just one page. Again, everything else is just as fast as it has always been, so it's not my connection (hi-speed cable).

It would sure make it easier if we could attach screenshots. Not to stray off-topic, but couldn't the forum be set to allow long-time members that privilege?

Jestgar Rising Star

You could post a screenshot on facebook or flikr and link it as an image.

Thanks for adding back in the poster's location!

Ugh .. ... REALLY not diggin' the new look.

Sometimes (certainly FAR too often), my view is useless, as shown in new avatar.

:(

It could be time for a new phone, as the new site is compatible with most new phones...

I tried searching for directions on how to use the MultiQuote feature & couldn't find any information. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you in advance.

It's really easy. If there is more than one post containing something you want to respond to, just click on the Multiquote button of each post, it will highlight in green, then scroll down and click on Add Reply as normal, and all the posts will pop up in the reply window. You can then just highlight and delete those parts of the post you don't want, leaving only what you want to respond to. You must be careful to leave the quote boxes in square paragraphs in the quote, or it won't work properly.

Thank you so much! I knew it couldn't be that complicated but I couldn't quite figure it out. Thank you again.

New-To-This Rookie

Really hate the new forum set up!. Not very helpful when all I've got to go on is a mini heading and would really like to read each comment without all the wasted time required to click each one individually. Tried changing to forum same thing as list in settings UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes funny things get stuck in the board's cookies. You could try clearing them all out and starting over. At the bottom of the screen, under the "English (US)" language selection, are four clickable items. Click the one that says "Delete My Cookies." You will be logged out and will revert to all the default settings. Log back in and things should be okay.

Tried it, it logged me out but I still have the list and not the forum where I can read each one without opening each individually. Is there something else I need to change??

Have you tried going back into your settings (down arrow near your username in the green box at the top of the page) and at the bottom under "search settings" and "forum results display" choose "show results like a forum" and then "save changes"?

Darn210 Enthusiast

You may have fallen out of "standard" viewing mode. Try this:

Go to your name in the green box at the top of the page.

Click on the arrow to get the drop down menu.

Click on My Settings.

On the page it takes you to, select Forums (in the gray header bar)

From there, scroll down to Topic Display Mode and select Standard.

Don't forget to Save Changes.

Scott Adams Grand Master

Try going into your "My Settings" area, then clicking the "Forums" tab, then making sure your Topic Display Mode is set to standard.

Take care,

Scott

Cristiana, that sounds like a great approach and I will be looking forward to the results. I am in the same boat as you. I don't experience overt symptoms with minor, cross contamination level exposures so I sometimes will indulge in those "processed on equipment that also processes wheat . . ." or items that don't specifically claim to be gluten free but do not list gluten containing grains in their ingredient list. But I always wonder if I am still experiencing sub acute inflammatory reactions. I haven't had any celiac antibody blood work done since my diagnosis almost 25 years ago so I don't really have any data to go by.

I've been reflecting on this further. The lowest TTG I've ever managed was 4.5 (normal lab reading under 10).  Since then it has gone up to 10.   I am not happy with that.  I can only explain this by the fact that I am eating out more these days and that's where I'm being 'glutened', but such small amounts that I only occasionally react. I know some of it is also to do with eating products labelled 'may contain gluten' by mistake - which in the UK means it probably does! It stands to reason that as I am a coeliac any trace of gluten will cause a response in the gut.  My villi are healed and look healthy, but those lymphocytes are present because of the occasional trace amounts of gluten sneaking into my diet.   I am going to try not to eat out now until my next blood test in the autumn and read labels properly to avoid the may contain gluten products, and will then report back to see if it has helped!

Hi, I posted before about my son's legs shaking after gluten. I did end up starting him on vit b and happily he actually started sleeping better and longer.  Back to my 4 year old. She had gone back to meltdowns, early wakes, and exhaustion. We tested everything again and her ferritin was lowish again (16) and vit d was low. After a couple weeks on supplements she is cheerful, sleeping better and looks better. The red rimmed eyes and dark circles are much better.   AND her Ttg was a 3!!!!!! So, we are crushing the gluten-free diet which is great. But WHY are her iron and vit d low if she's not getting any gluten????  She's on 30mg of iron per day and also a multivitamin and vit d supplement (per her dr). That helped her feel better quickly. But will she need supplements her whole life?? Or is there some other reason she's not absorbing iron? We eat very healthy with minimal processed food. Beef maybe 1x per week but plenty of other protein including eggs daily.  She also says her tummy hurts every single morning. That was before the iron (do not likely a side effect). Is that common with celiac?

Celiac disease is the most likely cause, but here are articles about the other possible causes:
