B) That's our man! Too bad the jackfruit didn't have one of those "Naturally Glute-free" stickers on it and pointed at the camera!

Not a fruit that I'm familiar with but a beautful looking one there!

Thanks all

Jackfruit is an amazing versatile fruit that can feed a family of 22 easily! Guess it does in some parts of the world. Was at the jackfruit festival in INdia last June and saw many things made from it including --

the seeds dried and ground into a great tasting gluten free flour used in breads, cookies and other Indian confections.

Its also where juicy fruit gum got its flavor. Dried like a jerky is good too although half dried in Chocolate is even better!

take care

He's also awesome. Try to hunt him down when you go to Hawai'i.

A celebrity!!! B)

Where do I get one of those fruits around here??  I'm very intrigued by it.

kenlove Rising Star

Don't know where around here is but sometimes you can find them at oriental markets, especially catering to the Philippine community where its called Lanka or Nanka. Can also find it canned form Thailand which is ok if cooked. SOMETIMES THEY CAN BE ORDERED FREsh from Miami fruit and Spice park or fairchild garden near there.

or just visit hawaii!

Yeah, but you'd have to cook it there. Try bringing one of those puppies back stateside they'd throw you in the can (if you were lucky). We got in a heap of trouble bringing in avocados from Maui

Coffee, I'll be in touch. ;)

Good to see you, the star that we always knew you were. An advocate on our side is a wonderful thing Ken! Thank you.

Your lucky you weren't thrown in the can -- or fined $10K.

This is one of the battles I always have to fight. why they let avocados from Mexico, Chile, New Zealand and now Peru into the US but not from Hawaii is crazy. They, the feds, have a million excuses none of which can hold up to science. Its all Calif. politics.

Once people try real avocados from Hawaii they will not want the junk being forced on the rest of the world.

Calif. Avo industry owns 68% of Mexican and 40something % of chilean orchards.

I better stop while there is still room on the computer-- (^_^)

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
