Lots of normal grocery store foods like olives and three bean salad or the big containers of artichoke hearts are naturally gluten-free. I've also gotten sausages in the deli section, big blocks of cheese, and all the great produce of course.

That's all that comes to mind. Yes, I shop at Costco a lot. B)

Yesterday I bought a huge bag of Food Should Taste Good Multi grain chips...never saw them there before. They also carry Riceworks chips.

I buy Freybe or Grimm's sausage and ham there - sometimes they have European weiners. Chorizio sausage is very good but very greasy...most of the others aren't so greasy. I have also bought chicken patties & sausage by the Loony Spoons ladies (maybe Canada only?) - they weren't very good - very over spiced.

I buy brown rice, Pacific broth, quinoa, nut bars (can't remember the brand), and more,....all say gluten-free. It can be hit or miss in Costco as to what they have at any one time.

Real excited about the Food Should Taste Good chips - hard to find in Canada & they won't ship here (emailed them the other day).

Natural cheddar flavored corn puffs, sort of like Cheetos that don't turn your fingers orange. Gluten-free and yummy! Open Original Shared Link

I don't know about CC on the corn chips at Costco. I buy the organic Kirkland ones and haven't had any trouble. I worry more about GMO corn than CC in corn chips myself. I have not gotten sick from Riceworks. (Crosses fingers.)

Yeah, sadly, they don't make a list themselves, we've gotta make our own, sigh.

Gluten free stuff:

Tasty Bite meals - boxed quick-to-make Indian food. Comes in packs of 3 or 4 as I recall.

Frito lay lists which of its chips are gluten-free on its site, although it's not perfect when it comes to Cross contamination:

The chicken patties rock compared to the sausage. Check the freezer section next time ;D

The giant bag of Kirkland Signature Mission Tortilla Chip Strips are gluten free. I have called to verify and they also say gluten free on the bag. We eat them a LOT! We love chips and salsa, nachos, taco salads, chips with chili cheese dip, etc.

I do almost all of my grocery shopping at Costco alone. It is the BEST store for gluten free items IMO. I haven't got a list to give you though but I'll try to start writing the things down if I can remember. The only thing I dont buy at costco for our regular groceries is pasta (I buy Tinkyada on Amazon), Chebe and Maple Grove pancake/waffle mix (also buy on Amazon), and a few misc things when I just need like some green onions or one canned item and I run in to Walmart.

People should be cautious with the Food Should Taste Good chips. They taste good, but I had a ferocious reaction to them, and then from another thread here discovered that they use OAT FIBER in at least some of the flavors. I did not know what else could have set me off, as I already eat the other separate ingredients that were on the label with no problems.

Today I found gluten free falafel at Costco! I'm excited to try it. I also found a nice big bag of red star yeast to use for my bread baking :) I also buy lunchmeat there! They have lots of sausages that are gluten free. The broasted chicken is gluten free. The frozen beef taquitos are yummy! We buy pace picante sauce, the cattle drive beef chili AND the chicken chili are gluten free. We like to mix with velveeta and canned tomatoes for a chili cheese dip to eat during football games (Go Steelers). I also like to use the chili for a quick lunch on a baked potato, or a quick taco salad, though I usually make my meals from scratch. Kettle brand potato chips are gluten free. OH, they have some chicken meatballs that are really good with a jar of marinara sauce and some tinkyada pasta for a quick dinner. Crunchmasters Rice Crackers have already been mentioned but we always have them in the house. Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce is the best!! Buy all my meat there, milk, cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs, butter, rosarita refried beans, canned tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, peanut butter, jelly, honey, chocolate chips, they have some good hummus that's in individual little snack cups, I called on those and they were gluten free. There are 2 kinds of "nut/seed" bars that are gluten free, one is called Mrs Mays or something like that and I can't think of hte name of the other one right now but I like it better. Pirates Booty is good. They have gluten free gummy vitamins for adults and gluten free prenatals (not that you'd be interested in that but someone else might, ;)) Well I'm tired, hope this helped, goodnight!

Mission makes the "Kirkland Signature" tortilla chips which is just a huge bag of the regular Mission corn tortilla strips. They are made on dedicated lines.

scratch what I said about the falafel. It's not only HORRIBLE, but it says made on equipment that also makes things with wheat, even though "gluten free" is marked all over the box. But regardless of that, it's the worst thing I've EVER gotten at Costco. My entire family about threw up. I only tasted a tiny nibble and it was so bad I spit it out. The rest of them took one bite and that was IT. I'm actually going to take it BACK it was that bad. LOL. But everything else about Costco I love :)

      oh that's interesting... it's hard to say for sure but it has *seemed* like oats might be causing me some vague issues in the past few months. It's odd that I never really connect specific symptoms to foods, it's more of an all over feeling of unwellness after  eating them.  If it happens a few times after eating the same foods- I cut back or avoid them. for this reason I avoid dairy and eggs.  So far this has worked well for me.  oh, I have some of Bob's Red Mill Mighty Tasty Hot cereal and I love it! it's hard to find but I will be looking for more.  for the next few weeks I'm going to be concentrating on whole fresh fruits and veggies and beans and nuts and seeds. I'll have to find out if grains are truly necessary in our diet. I buy brown rice pasta but only eat that maybe once a month at most. Never liked quinoa. And all the other exotic sounding grains seem to be time consuming to prepare. Something to look at later. I love beans and to me they provide the heft and calories that make me feel full for a lot longer than a big bowl of broccoli or other veggies. I can't even tolerate the plant milks right now.  I have reached out to the endo for guidance regarding calcium intake - she wants me to consume 1000mgs from food daily and I'm not able to get to more than 600mgs right now.  not supposed to use a supplement until after my next round of testing for hyperparathyroidism.   thanks again- you seem to know quite a bit about celiac.

      Welcome to the celiac.com community, @SilkieFairy! You could also have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) as opposed to celiac disease. They share many of the same symptoms, especially the GI ones. There is no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out.

      Under the circumstances, your decision to have the testing done on day 14 sounds very reasonable. But I think by now you know for certain that you either have celiac disease or NCGS and either way you absolutely need to eliminate gluten from your diet. I don't think you have to have an official diagnosis of celiac disease to leverage gluten free service in hospitals or institutional care and I'm guessing your physician would be willing to grant you a diagnosis of gluten sensitivity (NCGS) even if your celiac testing comes up negative. Also, you need to be aware that oats (even gluten free oats) is a common cross reactor in the celiac community. Oat protein (avenin) is similar to gluten. You might want to look at some other gluten free hot  breakfast cereal alternatives.

      After the birth of my daughter nearly 6 years ago, my stools changed. They became thin if they happened to be solid (which was rare) but most of the time it was Bristol #6 (very loose and 6-8x a day). I was on various medications and put it down to that. A few years later I went on this strict "fruit and meat" diet where I just ate meat, fruit, and squash vegetables. I noticed my stools were suddenly formed, if a bit narrow. I knew then that the diarrhea was probably food related not medication related. I tried following the fodmap diet but honestly it was just too complicated, I just lived with pooping 8x a day and wondering how I'd ever get and keep a job once my children were in school.  This past December I got my yearly bloodwork and my triglycerides were high. I looked into Dr. William Davis (wheat belly author) and he recommended going off wheat and other grains. This is the first time in my life I was reading labels to make sure there was no wheat. Within 2 weeks, not only were my stools formed and firm but I was only pooping twice a day, beautiful formed Bristol #4.  Dr. Davis allows some legumes, so I went ahead and added red lentils and beans. Nervous that the diarrhea would come back if I had IBS-D. Not only did it not come back, it just made my stools even bigger and beautiful. Still formed just with a lot more width and bulk. I've also been eating a lot of plant food like tofu, mushrooms, bell peppers, hummus etc which I thought was the cause of my diarrhea before and still, my stools are formed. In January I ran a genetics test because I knew you had to have the genes for celiac. The report came back with  DQ 2.2 plus other markers that I guess are necessary in order for it to be possible to have celiac. Apparently DQ 2.2 is the "rarer" kind but based on my report it's genetically possible for me to have celiac.  I know the next step is to bring gluten back so I can get testing but I am just not wanting to do that. After suffering with diarrhea for years I can't bring myself to do it right now. So that is where I am!

      learned I had a high PTH level in 2022 suspected to be due to low vit D  got my vit D level up a bit but still have high PTH   I am 70 yrs old (today in fact) I am looking for someone who also has hyperparathyroidism that might be caused by malabsorption
