I Had A Great Day Today

The first five months of this has been full of ups and downs. Feeling better, feeling worse, finding out that something else makes my autoimmune system go into overdrive. The figuring it out part is the pits. I've experienced every emotion that you can find words to describe over the past five months, both good and bad. But even the worst of the bad is better than the months that preceeded these past five months.

And today was a good day. I went fishing and did't catch a thing, but had fun trying. I went to the produce market and left spending $20 and ended up with more produce than I could carry out by myself! Tomorrow's lunch is already prepared and we had a fabulous dinner tonight with grilled corn, grilled baby potatoes, fresh steamed green beans and a protein. I've shared some of my bounty from the produce stand with a neighbor...we had a nice visit.

For the first time in well over a year (maybe two?), I cleaned my refrigerator out. OMG, it was bad! I just couldn't care or do anything about it before. My dear boyfriend said, "I think you're coming back!" when I was down on my knees cleaning the refrigerator.

Just wanted to share for those of you new to the diagnosis and/or forum that it takes awhile to get back to "normal" ... and maybe provide a walk down memory lane for those of you that have been down that road. This is the best day I've had in two years, and I'm celebrating it with the only people that understand!

I'm really freaking happy that I even care that I have a clean refrigerator! Yay!

Hi

From one Marilyn to another:

It is all good! I have been gluten free for almost three years, and life gets better and better. The diet gets easier to follow as you get more used to it, friends and family accept that that is "just the way it is", restaurants recognize you and know what you need, and best of all, YOU FEEL SOOOO GOOD!

I am really happy for you!

Currently healing up from my first awful relapse. I needed to hear this. Thank you.

Thanks, I needed to hear that. I've been strictly gluten free for just over a month (I was gluten light before that) and I kept hearing that many people have quick recoveries. Mine has been up and down and I wasn't sure what was happening. It's inspiring to hear that it can keep getting better over a long period of time.

YAY for great days!!

Here's hoping tomorrow is a good day as well! :)

and i'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who goes months on end w/ o cleaning the fridge... usually for me it's not quite that long (somewhere around 3- 6 months....and it's due for a cleaning NOW!) (and I'm sure you all can understnad why cleaning th fridge 9esp when it gets that bad) is my least favorite household chore!)

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
