  1. mm, Gluten-Free flour. best regards, lm
  2. nbc, That's a big disapointment all right. It's bad enough when you pay a good price for a meal and it's not very good. But to not be able to even eat it and knowing quite well it is probably very tasty. Super bummer. I've always wanted to eat at Carrabas, but it seems to be closed on the occasions we are by one. They have limited hours. BTW, what...
  3. Hey C, Breakfast cereal made with Pinto Beans yet can't find in store. Coincidence? Ya think? Just kidding with ya. I love pinto beans, they're my favorite. Hey, I'm a Dallas boy! best regards, lm
  4. sdr, May I ask why you had to give up sweet & low (sacchharin) ? I've never used it (it's very bitter to my taste buds), but my wife uses lots of it (not celiac). I have read that of the main three sugar substitutes, it is the least objectionable (health nut wise, and I say that with all due respect as I may be one myownself), with equal (apertame...
  5. jc, My thanks also. This is very informative (not that I understand all of it). Different presentation than I've seen previously, I like it very much. best regards, lm
  6. k, First off, be warned, I don't consider myself to be a sourdough starter expert ( I am however a sourdough bread eating expert). Having said that, here's my experience. It can be stored in the fridge after the first few days. Actually, all the fridge does is slow down the activity, so you can put it in there anytime you want. It's like a "slow pause...
  7. ck, Have a wonderful birthday day! lm
  8. jkm, Those look promising. We eat a lot of soft tacos (or fajitas), and I'm not entirely satisfied with only corn. best regards, lm
  9. bem, Me too! Longer days. Ridin my bike. Mowing the yard. Wait, not that one. Oh well, gotta take the bad with the good. best regards, lm
  10. Wow, that's a heavy duty thread. Good example of how emotions get going back and forth on these forums sometimes. For what it's worth, I eat flavored yogurt every morning with no problems. Apparently, the distilled vinegars used to process the fruit doesn't bother me. Personally, I think they're (the manufacturers) just saying that to CTA. Yes, there...
  11. g73, I'm looking a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch The Original, & one bottle Hidden Valley Ranch The Original Light. Neither has any wheat gluten ingredient listed. They do have many ingredients however, including natural flavors (soy), msg, artificial flavors, artificial colors, modified food starch, preservatives, and of course disodiium inosinate...
  12. kool kolka, Here's my muffin recipe. I use all the options and have had good luck with it. Note, these are not a light dessert type muffin. I use them for mini-meals. yours truly, lm 2 eggs (warmed or room temp)
  13. AQ, You don't know how many times I've said that. I should add that to my signature (but it's already too long). best regards, lm
  14. Please add my welcome to all the unloggers. best regards, lm
  15. mg, I wasn't being facetious with you. I was being facetious with htg. best regards, lm
  16. gfp, Exactly what I was trying to imply. Having seperate fryers for the fries and chicken products is most likely driven by practicality (ie. profits). The oil in the fries fryer lasts longer without the flour products in it. Of course it's not quite that simple, there are taste considerations etc. What I'm suggesting is that the whole concept of seperate...
  17. jg, Yeah, I forgot about that part till recently when I saw the song on youtube. I've been going around singing it wrong for years. Sorry Arlo. best regards, p.s., jg - please say something next time I screw up (and there will be a next time!).
  18. mg, Read the label? Why didn't I think of that? best regards, lm
  19. gfp, I'm going to have to disagree a little here. Regular mayo is somewhat ambiguous, could be whatever anyone thinks it is. "Real" mayo though, is egg, oil, vinegar or lemon juice, salt and.... best regards, lm p.s., We still need simplicity66 to clear up this mayo mystery!
  20. MG, Yes, I agree about adding the lemon juice to add a little zip. My question for s66 (which I think only he/she could really answer), was regarding the "its a really close second to regular mayo" part. "...just a tip for ones using Hellmans Mayo...to make the taste alittle better i add a few drops of lemon juice...its a really close second to regular...
  21. s, That's terrible. What do they do for a reaction in the ER? Did you both eat the exact same thing? What does a 20 month old with severe wheat and rice allergies eat at Outback? I've only been there once, not since being gluten-free. Hope he's OK. best regards, lm
  22. Hello gluten freers, My co-worker opened a BBQ restaurant last weekend. I ate there an hour after they opened. I ordered the sweet potato fries as a side dish to the beef brisket and they were very, very tasty. I was a little nervous as they also offer chicken nuggets. But considering they had just opened for the very first time, I had driven all the way...
  23. s66, Clarification please. I consider Hellmans to be regular mayo. What do you consider to be regular mayo? Thank you. best regards, lm
  24. gfp, If only it was really that inviting. You walk in a Walmart or typical supermarket and the cereal/breakfast foods isle is what, 50 feet (I'm just guessing) with product on both sides, and not a single item gluten-free! Not only that, it's hard not to think the manufacturers are deliberately listing at least one wheat, barley, or rye ingredient in every...
  25. g73, Well, as I don't eat Pop Secret I don't really know. I have eaten a bag of Pop Weaver Extra Butter five days a week for several months and haven't had any kind of reaction that I can tell. Plus there is no mention of wheat in the ingredients. It warns about containing milk ingredients and being manufactured in a facility that handles peanuts and tree...
