I avoid all products with gluten because I get a little itchy and just don't want to have to worry about it but it's a personal choice. Go with what works for you.
  2. I just returned from a meal here. It was fantastic. Here is the no-no list that I got from the manager: Meat: Frango (chicken - marinated in beer) and Linguica (sausage - because they don't make it in house and can't guarantee it) Salad Bar: s$#&ake mushrooms (made with soy sauce), tabouleh, ceasar salad, 3 of the 4 prepared salad dressings and the...
  3. Have you discussed this with your doctor? If you recently had an endoscopy and are still having issues your doctor should know so they can help you even if your celiac biopsy was negative. Reflux is not normal and having problems digesting fat is not normal.
  4. I did see that and it's beyond comprehension. The comments are worth reading too.
  5. The only gluten-free cookbook I use is Bette Hagman's The Gluten Free Gourmet Bakes Bread and I really just use it as a reference for converting other recipes, etc.
  6. Can't help you with everything but: Vollmilchschokolade = Full Milk Chocolate (milch = milk) zucker = sugar Kakaobutter = cocobutter Emulgator = emulsifier of some sort Sojalecithin = soy lecithin Buttereinfett = butterfat pflanzliches Fett = vegetable fat (fett = fat) I think Gesaamimilchbestandteile and Gesamikakaotrockenuasse refer to the percentage...
  7. Amy's does a lot to prevent cross contamination and they have improved their process greatly in the past few years. Here's a recent email from them about this: Our gluten free products contain only the ingredients listed in the ingredient statement. There are no hidden, unlabeled ingredients. We understand that it is critical that these products be free...
  8. Well...wheat germ oil is not safe to ingest so if there's a chance it will get in her mouth at some point then it may be an issue. I personally don't use products with any gluten containing ingredients because I just don't want to chance it. I've tasted soap and shampoo way more than I care to admit.
  9. I noticed that Progresso Creamy Mushroom is not on the list. Has something changed?
  10. Yep. I know I get ill when I eat wheat starch in Europe. I really don't think they taste any better - especially when they make me sick. Agreed. I especially like the individually packaged breads.
  11. If you suspect you have another autoimmune condition you should see a doctor. This isn't something you want to speculate about.
  12. The answer to your tic tac question can be found in the FAQ section on their website: Open Original Shared Link
  13. I spent a week in Western Ireland recently and not only is it one of the most beautiful countries in the world it is celiac heaven. I could walk into any restaurant and if there wasn't a gluten-free notation on the menu all I had to do was ask what was gluten-free and they'd know instantly. Almost every place had gluten-free bread. I only found 1 soup...
  14. Per the FDA website the starch is corn so it should be gluten-free. A lot of people are sensitive to the various dyes and different strengths often have different additives. Open Original Shared Link I don't know off the top of my head of a thyroid medication that is known not to be gluten-free.
  15. Interesting letter. I'd like to know how many people with soy allergies consider soy sauce a hypoallergenic food. That letter was written in 2005 and wasn't the codex standard 200 ppm back then?
  16. Try this one: Open Original Shared Link
  17. Welcome KRP! Most cruise lines accommodate a gluten-free diet with reasonable notice. I'd recommend contacting them now so they know who you are and what you need. Open Original Shared Link
  18. I don't recall much food after you clear security at Pudong (don't know about Hongqiao). The ticketing side has a few but I can't help you with recommendations as I don't eat in airports.
  19. You could also make naturally gluten-free cookies. I made these Open Original Shared Link years before I knew the word gluten.
  20. I love coonhounds! My grandfather bread Blueticks and Treeing Walkers many years ago. They are awesome dogs. But yes, they are quite adventurous.
  21. Yes. And, it can be a very happy life too if you choose to make it so.
  22. I wouldn't consider these products to be wheat-free either.
