  1. And some of us get real uncomfortable blisters. Thanks Jestar for posting the list.
  2. Within a few minutes if I have injested enough I will have the room jerk suddenly, it feels like I am falling but I am not. My tummy will start to rumble also in the first hour or so. Within 24 hours I will usually have stomach and back pain, a migraine and deep depression. This will lift by day 3 when the D hits full force. I then have about 2 more weeks...
  3. I don't know if there is any genetic connection other than 'luck' but we have all three in my family. We have one family member with ED and Celiac and one who has all 3.
  4. I would advise you to do 2 things, first while you are still eating gluten DEMAND a celiac panel and a check of your iron, folate and B12 levels. Then give the diet a good try no matter what the blood tests say. The best way to do this is by eating naturally gluten free, minimally or unprocessed foods for a month or two. It is best if you can to remove...
  5. Thanks so much for the reply. I did get the actual report along with copies of all my labs. It does not mention any yes or no as far as the HP issue. The microscopic finding were: 'partial gastric metaplasia with foveolar epithelium. Brunner's glands present. The segment with gastric metaplasia some of the glands show increased nuclear cytoplasmic...
  6. Good, I am going to call my GI Monday to find out if he tested for it. I should think he would have suggested testing but but then again this guy doesn't even know celiac can cause any symptoms other than GI. You set my mind at ease a bit. I guess I can stop labeling my treasures as to who gets what for a bit longer. I don't know what I would do if...
  7. Thanks for the reply and the link. Do you know how they test for H pylori, would it be likely in someone who only rarely has any signs of heartburn or reflux? I am assuming it would be prudent to ask for a test for it. The treatment is antibiotics, correct?
  8. I had an endo a couple of weeks ago. After 5 years gluten-free there was no evidence of celiac so I guess I have healed nicely. However the biopsy report stated that they found Focal Gastric Metaplasia in the specimens. My doctor thinks they messed up at the lab and made a mistake and is comfortable waiting a year or so and then redoing the biopsy. He...
  9. It also makes me wonder if they can make it from wheat do they also make it from barley, they wouldn't even have to disclose that on the label.
  10. This is a first for me. I suppose I should have known that it was possible but I have never heard of this. Who knew you could derive glucose from wheat, just another ingredient we have to watch out for.
  11. Bless you and make sure you let us know where it is and spread the word about the need. My biggest fear is needing to be hospitalized or going into assisted living. I don't think I am alone in that. I know they would kill me slowly and painfully.
  12. Yes. Personally passing a kidney stone is less painful than the pain I had from celiac. They thought I was having a heart attack once.
  13. My first presentations were neurological. I have had ataxia, loss of reflexes, depression, fibro and migraines since childhood. When full blown celiac set in I also began to have memory problems and parathesias and incontinence. I was misdiagnosed for years (15) after full blown celiac set in and was close to death before it was finally diagnosed. My...
  14. Actually a little star near Orion's Belt. It turned out to be some kind of residue on some glass sheets that I had been sorting and racking. I'll wear gloves next time. I have no idea what it was but I discovered lots of my rock collection look real neat under black light during my search.
  15. Yea the sun damage and even the damage from my arthritis seemed to show up. It was really strange to me that the most purple joints I had were the ones with the most damage from the arthritis. And boy do my DH scars show up. As for the weird spot that was glowing I think tonight when it gets dark I am going to turn out the lights, the lights were on when...
  16. This I am aware of. I grew up in the era of the black light so I am familiar with that type of glow. This is a yellow spot in the center of my palm. It is about half the size of a dime. And it is bright yellow almost like a flourescent paint. It is nothing like the whites of my fingernails or untanned skin, that I know is normal.
  17. I don't know. I couldn't find anything on a google search other than referral to psoriasis but that was cells in a lab not the patient.
  18. I was just playing with a black light in my studio. I was looking at my hands and I had spots on the sides of my fingers that were softly glowing white, I could deal with that. But when I turned over my hand I have a spot in the middle of my palm that looks like it has a light bulb inside it. It is like glowing a yellow bulb. I have a couple of smaller...
  19. This is quite high but you don't need to worry too much about it until you talk to your doctor on Monday. One thing I would suggest is that if you are taking a vitamin with iron in it that you discontinue that at least until you talk to the doctor. There are folks that have a genetic predisposition to very high iron levels and they are treated by simply...
  20. I react to grain vinagers but not to a distilled corn vinager. I usually call the company to find out what they use. Pickles are also easy to make yourself. I use Heinz white distilled vinager in mine because I know that it is from corn. We have a wegmans here that labels all their gluten-free stuff and only a few of the pickles they make have the gluten...
  21. You may not like my answer but you should know the bad possibilities. I had this test and it was covered by my insurance. In fact I had this test 3 times at different hospitals. I came back negative each time. I was in full blown celiac at the time. Have you tried the diet with him to see if it helps? None of the doctors, GI, Neuro, rheumy, GP suggested...
  22. You may want to also get a sublingual B12 that will help a great deal with the brain fog and energy, gluten free of course. Also if you can add some spinach to your salad and maybe some sliced zuccini or yellow squash, green beans are also good that would help round out those vitamin and mineral needs. With veggies the brighter the color the more vitamins...
  23. The way I got around this was by using disposable nonpowdered gloves and having someone else wipe the chalkboard down. The worst classes for me were the ones where the kids would do sentences on the board then go back to their seats and copy them with chalk covered hands on to paper to hand in. There may be non-gluten chalk out there and you may want...
  24. Celiac definately seems to effect the gallbladder as well as many other systems. Are you following a low fat diet in addition to the celiac diet? Please do stop challenging with the gluten but also check with your GI to make sure you are not also needing attention because of the gall bladder removal. Some people will form stones in the bile duct even...
  25. Since gluten is a whole body toxin the body is going to try and release it through not just the bowels but also through the blood stream and urinary tract. The body is going to try and rid itself of this toxin in any way it can, I think this is the reason many notice a increase in urination and sweating when we get glutened, what we may be noticing is the...
