  1. I agree with this completely, plus not all kidney stones are calcium related. If you have kidney stones it is best to consult with your doctor and also if you do pass one catch it so it can be analysed to determine what the stone is formed of. The doctor can then tell you what needs to be done or deleted to prevent them and in addition there are noninvasive...
  2. Have you talked to your doctor about this? There is prescription medication that can help in most cases.
  3. Thank you to everyone. It means a lot to me. It has been a very good day so far and my DS will be bringing me PF Changs any minute, yum. I have to go wash down the table and since my favorite kitty's birthday is also today, he is fouteen, I got him his favorite food so he can chow down before Eric gets here. Maybe he'll let us eat in peace if he gets...
  4. I agree, if the bruise is still spreading you are still bleeding under the skin. While this is not a life threatening thing there are some things your doctor should check for.
  5. I agree this is one of the best if not the best article I have read. It is very through. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
  6. Most are going to be fine. If it just lists apples as the ingredient it should be safe but if you see the words 'natural flavors' in the ingredient list do check.
  7. Once you have been gluten free for a while I think the risk of miscarrying and infertility go down. My DD has had a couple of cysts that have ruptured so although I don't have first hand experience I know the pain is horrible and I hope the diet helps alleviate the risk of more cysts for you. Labor is uncomfortable and a lot of work, the reason they call...
  8. This site will be very helpful to you I am sure. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people who have walked in your shoes. Do feel free to ask any questions you need to and feel free to vent frustrations. It will get better but there is a lot of learning that goes with the gluten free lifestyle, it is much more than just food. Labeling regs also leave...
  9. I felt like jumping for joy too. I had the sores all over my face also and it is soooo wonderful when they are gone. I am so glad you had a quick response, I did to.
  10. There is also pretty good question and answer article on celiac by Stefano Guandalini, M.D., medical director of the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center and one of the world
  11. Thanks for posting that. I found it to be a good response to an article of questionable value.
  12. So what!!!! So to you that means he can't have done any research or have knowledge about celiac or gluten intolerance. I have much more knowledge about celiac than any of the doctors I have seen except perhaps for the allergist who was the primary doctor responsible for my diagnosis. You don't need an MD behind your name to do research and become knowledgeable...
  13. I never had a ruptured cysts, thank goodness but count me in for all. Thankfull my ovaries waited until my 30's before I started going through menapause but that was early for me also. My OB/GYN told me after I was diagnosed that I might start menstrating again but I had gone through menapause almost 8 years before I was diagnosed and had one light period...
  14. The first thing you need to do is check your scripts and any supplements for gluten. Don't trust your doctor to know ask the pharmacist or call the company directly. Take a good look at anything new you may have added in the last two weeks and also check to make sure about whether stuff is made in the same plant as gluten items. Many of us become more...
  15. Personal opinion but I would advise anyone who is diagnosed as either celiac or gluten intolerant to avoid this type of supplement. To often we have false negatives on testing. IMHO you are playing with fire and eventually it will burn.
  16. I would copy those gene results and send them to him marked personal and confidential or make an appointment and let him know. They can't learn if we don't teach them.
  17. I would change shampoos and mascara immediately if I were you. Whether they are gluten-free or not you are having issues with them. You might want to post another question with the fact that you are in Australia in the topic title so that any fellow Aussies on the board will be attracted to it and perhaps better able to help you.
  18. Count me in to for the kidney issues. My reasoning is that since our bodies react to gluten as a toxin and the kidneys help with clearing toxins from the body it is not surprising that this would be an effect of gluten injestion.
  19. Did you have blood work before you went gluten free and had the endo? If so what were the results? Did the doctor tell you why he negated the same biopsy that he previously said was positive? You did have a reaction to the cereal but 2 bowls is hardly a challenge. Celiac reactions for most of us are delayed reactions, one reason why it can be hard to...
  20. I noticed yesterday that there seems to be an odd delay as I am typing responses. Today while replying to a post all of a sudden my reply disappeared from the box and someone else's appeared. Are we having issues of some kind?
  21. I can't answer about the Turtle Mountain stuff but I do avoid anything that is made in the same facility especially when the item is an item that is 'flour' based.
  22. If by 'no name' you mean a store labeled brand call the stores home office and check. I would be more leery of the creamsicles but personally wouldn't eat either without checking first. If you post the ingredients here someone might be able to point out suspect ingredients. For me the words 'natural flavors' are a real red flag.
  23. Hi Amy, Basically they told me the same thing that they told you except in my case I have 2 gluten senstive genes. I didn't learn my gene was considered a celiac related gene rather than a GI gene in other countries until I entered my genes, DQ9 (You are a DQ8 and DQ7) into a search engine and then looked at results. Note I do not even bother looking at...
  24. Are these tremors a recent thing? If they developed recently I would go back to your neurologist to have these evaluated.
  25. I also think that you should do the cold turkey. One thing that might help with the withdrawl is some sublingual B12. By going off it slowly you are simply keeping the antibodies going until you finally quit. Be gentle with yourself and try to make sure you are doing things that you enjoy during the withdrawl period. The withdrawl should only last a week...
