  1. I just had one of the bars and I actually liked it, didn't notice the aftertaste. Its sweet but a much better option if you're craving a candy bar or something!
  2. They have mainstream gluten free cookies!!!!!! Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chocolate chip. Did anyone know this?? Usually when a big company like that goes gluten free, I hear about it from this board but unless I completely missed it, I stood in the store with my jaw dropped. Naturally I bought them (despite the obvious cc risks that I know people will...
  3. cupcake pebbles are also gluten free dispite the misleading name. they don't have marshmallows...however, they smell way better than they taste
  4. I had a ton of white patches on my throat when I was first getting sick and trying to figure out what it was...I ended up having to get my tonsils out!
  5. I second the recommendations for Mozerrelli's and Risotteria. mmmm, now I"m itching to go to NYC!
  6. I'm kinda jealous......my b12 count was 125 which they called "freakishly low" at the dr. I started taking the shots
  7. Can ANYONE suggest a bakery closer to Central PA that has gluten free wedding cakes. A few advertise that they do but when I call they say "oh I've never made one before, what do you mean cross contamination"...and there are some a bit further away but the delivery charge is $400!! I'm about to get some betty crocker yellow cake mix and funfetti icing and...
  8. ah, I had no idea what you were asking about. I'm not familiar with them but I'd call!!
  9. Thanks guys. I think its finally getting a bit better but the last few days were pretty painful!
  10. So I had an egd and a colonoscopy on Monday and let's just say it wasn't a great experience. I woke up several times throughout the procedure and it was ungodly painful...they couldn't give me any more pain medication because my blood pressure was too low but the "twilight sedation" didn't take. That alone was unpleasant enough and make my vomiting during...
  11. I'm glad you did. Its good to know that I'm not some freak who experienced something that no one else has. It was truly a horrible experience but I managed through it and if they figure out whats going on with me, I'll be happy. I'm already a diagnosed celiac, so it was to check for some other things but it was just really a less than awesome experience!
  12. Sorta off your topic but I had an EGD and a colonoscopy on Monday and the "twilight sedation" didn't take. I was awake and conscious throughout the entire process and still sorta wake up with nightmares of the pain it caused. I'd definitely recommend anyone getting the test to ask to be put under for it. As if trying to figure out whats wrong with you isn...
  13. Can anyone give me some great St. Patty's Day recipes I know Irish Davey Boy usually posts a few but I'm itching to plan tomorrow evening!
  14. Kix DO NOT contain Oats, the post you read was like 4 years old.
  15. This is a really old thread from 2007. Kix actually do not have oat flour and are now considered gluten free. A lot of companies don't put "gluten free" on the label but it doesn't necessarily mean their product isn't safe for us. Be careful to notice the dates when you see a thread, often times even a thread from a year ago has out of date information.
  16. I wish they'd give the conversion amounts for gluten free bisquick and regular so we could make even more things!!
  17. I'm not sure I'd trust canned crab on principle alone...something about canning anything other than tunafish creeps me out..Feel better!!
  18. be careful with Amy's. A lot of us can't tolerate them
  19. The saga continues. I just said in an e-mail to her "A lot of people who suffer from celiac disease wouldn't be able to tolerate your bread if there is in fact gluten in it, regardless of the amount. Thank you for the information," and the response was : "We give all the information to our customers and we do not call it gluten free...
  20. I asked for suggestions a few days ago too with little response! I'll be watching your topic like a hawk to see if there are any ideas
  21. Why couldn't you make your own burritos? Or get a burrito bowl from chipotle and use a gluten free wrap.
  22. I recently was told about a bakery who made gluten free bread out of black beans and rice flour, so I decided to contact them and find out if they offered any other products that were gluten free. They told me that their gluten free bread had some gluten in the yeast but it wasn't enough to "register" and that all yeast had gluten in it. Is this accurate...
  23. They are not moving their plant to Mexico, it was recently announced.
  24. False. Modified Food Starch does not have gluten in it in the United States.
