  1. Sounds good to me! Thanks Patty!
  2. I checked with Redd's apple Ale and got this response Jan-2015. They do make a couple of gluten-free ciders, but the Redd's line is not gluten-free. Thank you for contacting MillerCoors. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us Paul. Unfortunately, our Redd's line is not gluten free. However, we do have our Crispin Cider Line and Smith and...
  3. Aldi has some gluten-free tortillas also. Theirs have soy flour as well so might not work for some people. But they are cheap anyway.
  4. That's pretty much the standard process, doing blood antibody tests first and then an endoscopy. Usually the person is supposed to keep eating gluten until the endoscopy is done though.
  5. Welcome Jennifer, There is a sticky thread at the top of the coping forum with some beginner info that might be helpful to you. Here's a link to it also: Newbie Info 101 https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ I can tell you that lots of adults have issues adjusting to the gluten-free diet. Changing your diet can be a little...
  6. I agree with seeing a real doctor. But, since you have been eating gluten-free, the celiac testing may not work. The celiac blood antibody tests are usually the first step in celiac diagnosis. But if you start eating gluten-free, the antibodies levels in the blood start dropping and the tests won't show an accurate result. You could go back on a gluten...

Right Cap6, the don't have a gluten-free menu at any of their restraunts now. That was probably a response to the new FDA regs on gluten. They (TR) say on their site to check with the local restraunt for gluten-free options. Same thing you said. So far it has worked out ok for me, no problems.
  8. Hi Tfr, Welcome to the site! You may want to read up on dermatitis herpetiformis (DH). DH is an auto-immune condition that occurs in people with celiac disease. People with DH may not "test well" on the regular celiac disease antibodies tests. Sometimes they have to get a skin biopsy of the area near the lesions to detect the antibodies in the...
  9. I gave up coffee after it gave up on me. I can drink tea ok now but it took some years for that to happen. So, maybe you'll get coffee back. Tea ain't so bad tho.
  10. Hi, Welcome to the forum Blue! Your doctor is wrong, celiac can cause plenty of pain. The first thing you need to do is change your diet. After you read this thread tho: Newbie Info 101 https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Sometimes the pain in our gut is made worse by gas trapped in the innards. That can be helped...
  11. Bob Evans original and Sage flavors are ok for me. They have others but they are a little spicy.
  12. That's great you are feeling better Mike! It makes sense to have your dad tested. Celiac is genetic so it tends to run in families. It seems that the genes for celiac are also related to some other auto-immune diseases. There are lists of celiac associated diseases on the internet. So sometimes people with celiac start checking their relatives and find...
  13. Hi Brit, I had mucus sometimes before going gluten-free. Alternating constipation and diahhrea is fairly common I think. The effects of celiac disease damage can be spread throughout the body. They aren't necessarily confined to the gut. Some people develop a skin rash, some get joint pain, some get brain lesions. There are other symptoms too (3...
  14. Welcome Mike! Yes, it's pretty common for doctors to mis-diagnose celiac disease patients. I think they say the undiagnosed celiac percentage is something like 85% now. Down from 90 or more % earlier. Many people suffer with symptoms for years before getting diagnosed or just deciding on their own to go gluten-free. The celiac testing isn't perfectly...
  15. Hi Mandy, You might want to read Dr. Peter Green's book: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/12782-new-book-celiac-disease-a-hidden-epidemic/ I think he recommends women wait 6 months after going gluten-free before another pregnancy. Probably so the body has a chance to recover/heal some and restore vitamin levels to normal. People on this forum...

A very pointy point indeed Karen! The TR in my town wasn't even built 8 years ago! So an update to the info seems warranted. This is what their website says about the current (December 2014) gluten-free menu below: Open Original Shared Link ********************************** "While we recognize that some guests have specific dietary...
  17. Texas Road house in my town has gluten-free options. I've eaten there 3 times now and been fine. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/12588-texas-roadhouse/ Open Original Shared Link Hi Chef Patterson. One of the problems with gluten-free food IMHO is that companies making it seem to consider gluten as the only possible problem. Many celiacs...

  19. I like Solgar brand vitamins. They come in a brown glass bottle usually with a bronze label.
  20. Looks like you are going to need a time machine. But in the meantime, until you get your own personal TARDUS try: Pepto Bismol Aspirin Lots of water Eat plenty of easy to digest foods and take digestive enzymes. Some people think activated charcoal helps if it is taken right after the glutening. Try some probiotics too. Okra and marshmallow root...
  21. Hi EZ, Brussel sprouts aren't too terribly leafy. Or at least they have small leaves. Green beans and ham might work too. Or lima beans. You are probably already eating sweet potatoes. i like avocados but they aren't a vegetable. Squash can be pretty good. I guess I ate enuff carrots in my life. Not missin' 'em really. I like to cook sweet...
  22. Hi Ezgoindude, It might not be the chocolate giving you issues. Chocolate often has dairy and soy in it. Dairy and soy can cause reactions in people also. You could test by getting some Hershey's coco powder and trying that. The can's of powder are just plain coco with no dairy or soy. An alternative to chocolate is carob powder. Carob has a...
  23. Open Original Shared Link Instructions Pre-heat oven to 350. In a food processor combine all ingredients. Scoop into muffin tin make sure to use liners or you will never get them out, personal experience! You can also use silicone molds they work great. The batter will be VERY sticky you might want to wet the spoon to make is easier. I topped mine...

Good heavens, you aren't grinding your own rice flour yet! Eeek! Just kidding, it sounds like you are doing things pretty darn right to me. I am sorry you are feeling poorly. I know they used wheat paste for wall paper in the past, Wheat paste is cheap and easy to make. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they used wheat in other building products in...
  25. Welcome Rilyyjo! Guess I am one of a few also, as I had upchucking too. I also was often sick in the morning, and avoided eating until afternoon because of it. The antibodie tests are a simple blood draw. They are the first step in testing. Unfortunately he started the diet already and the results won't be reliable if they are negative. But if...
