Another possibility is the seasoning that a restaurant may use. I've seen restaurant kitchens where the chefs make their own seasonings (very well gluten free ones at that) but they are using their fingers to sprinkle on the seasonings after just assembling a hamburger with bun. Its best to say no seasonings and carry your own. You can eat out but always...

ARCHIVED Johnsonville Brats Or Any Brats
ksymonds84 replied to CeliacMom2008's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've never had a problem with johnsonville brats. I just started craving brats again now that it is grilling weather again. -
Welcome to the board! I too have never heard of weening yourself off gluten. You must do what you feel is right for your body. I would however get off as soon as you feel you can with your numbers being very high. The healing can take alot of time for some people so the sooner you start the better. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

ARCHIVED Accidently Eating Gluten?
ksymonds84 replied to jayzeemomma's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome Lisa! I have only been gluten free for 4 months now and have made tons of stupid mistakes. It's a lot of learning! I found after two months of gluten free eating that the accidental misshaps caused me to be sicker than ever before. I think our bodies no longer put up with the offending gluten and say "no way" are you coming back! It's definately... -
ARCHIVED Would You Get Tested?
ksymonds84 replied to gfprof's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hello and welcome to the board! If you decide to stay gluten free without testing, read over the mayo clinic's website on celiac. They state that a diagnosis can be made through a positive dietary response. They also say not to do this if you want further testing because it will be negative. I feel that the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN is one of the top... -

ksymonds84 replied to Vanquish's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hello and welcome to the board! A biopsy diagnosis of the HD rash is a definate celiac diagnoses. Not everyone has digestive symptoms or any outward symptoms when they eat gluten; however the damage is still being done internally all the same. My brother inlaw was diagnosed the same way as you with no one else in the family (yet) having celiac or gluten... -
ARCHIVED Diarreah In The Am
ksymonds84 replied to therearemiracles's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I too was a morning only diarreah girl. After 4 months gluten free, I am normal 99% of the time now (unless gluten sneaks its way in). It also helped me to take caltrate with vitamin D two times a day. I need the calcium and the calcium bicarbonate helps firm me up as well. The calcium with magnesium made it worse by the way. Welcome to the board we... -

ksymonds84 replied to Wakeboarder's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

The trick I use when I want to know right away is type in my google search engine the ingredient i want to search then the words gluten free? That usually answers it right away for me more often than not. Most instant mashed potatoes do have gluten. The hy-vee brand 4 cheese, roasted... -

ARCHIVED Frank's Red Hot?
ksymonds84 replied to shacon-bacon's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hello, Frank's original red hot sauce is on the gluten free list so the vinegar is distilled. I think with labeling laws they would have to say malt vinegar etc. Like Holly, I add 1/3 cup of melted butter to a 1/2 cup of sauce, makes very yummy buffalo wings! -
Hi Laura just wanted to mention that I get alot of mouth ulcers when I accidently injest gluten or my other intolerances. My doctor suggested swishing pepto bismol in my mouth to calm down the acidity and it does work! I know it might sound gross to your son but it does ease the discomfort. Sorry he's going through this.

ARCHIVED Could It Be Diary After All
ksymonds84 replied to ksymonds84's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Thanks Ursa, I really don't care about milk (never liked it) but I do absolutely love cheese but I agree that it would be worth a try to see if removing dairy makes a difference. My coffee creamer says lactose, dairy & gluten free but it does have sodium caseinate so I'm guessing its off limits? Gluten was extremely hard to give up in the beginning... -
Hi all, having pretty good success at 3 1/2 months trying to be gluten free but have issues at least once a week. I've always thought myself not to be diary intolerant because I read that dairy reactions happen within 30 minutes to 2 hours later. I typically don't have the big D until the morning so figured it was cc or hidden gluten. I did notice the...

ksymonds84 replied to lmvrbaby's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Lisa, I can't help you with what's in augmentin but can say I cannot tolerate it either. For me, it was horrible stomach pains, the big D, and swollen fingers with a rash on my face. The doc had to switch me to something else. My pharmacists said that alot of people get D with augmentin but the swollen fingers and rash is not as common. Hope... -

My husband so feels for you! He went through the same thing except they didn't know the tooth was causing the problems. They did a sonagram on his sinuses first, found nothing and told him to take pseudephed PE, Ibuprofen, and a nasal spray. 2 weeks later, he still has horrible pain shooting mostly on his left cheek, temple and ear so they sign him up...
