  1. You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance"...
  2. EpiLynx, who is a sponsor here, has a full line of gluten-free cosmetics and skin care products: https://www.epilynx.com/
  3. Celiac.com 08/28/2023 - Living with celiac disease comes with its unique set of challenges, and one of the most intricate aspects is managing your dietary needs in social situations. Whether it's dining out at a restaurant, attending parties...
  4. If someone has low IgA it can cause false negative results on tests that use IgA, for example tTG-IgA, but IgA deficiency would not cause false positive results. What this means is that his tTG-IgA score would likely be even higher if he were not IgA deficient. I hope that makes sense. If his tTG-IgA had been below the cut off for celiac disease, then...
  5. Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The...
  6. His two positive results look pretty clear cut that he likely has celiac disease. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because...
  7. Yes, it is possible for someone to have the DQ2 or DQ8 genetic markers associated with celiac disease, and for them to have celiac disease, even if neither of their parents has those markers. This situation can occur due to the complex inheritance patterns of genetic markers. Celiac disease is strongly associated with specific human leukocyte antigen...
  8. For me magnesium citrate helped with my RLS issue.
  9. BareMinerals, a popular cosmetics brand, offers many products that are naturally gluten-free, including some of their loose powder products. If you go here it says that it is: https://www.bareminerals.com/products/original-loose-powder-foundation-spf-15
  10. We have hundreds of gluten-free recipes here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/gluten-free-recipes/
  11. Flaxseed oil itself is not considered to be a high-histamine food, but it can potentially cause histamine release in some cases due to factors like oxidation or contamination. Fresh flaxseed oil that is properly stored and processed is less likely to cause histamine-related issues. However, if the oil is improperly stored, exposed to heat, light, or air for...

  14. These two articles may, even though they are old, may be helpful:
  15. Many gluten-free foods and baking mixes contain xanthan gum or other gums like guar gum. Although they are both gluten-free, they may cause IBS-type issues in some people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity:

  17. I'm not very familiar with genetic markers associated with gluten sensitivity, but I do trust Dr. Kenneth Fine and Enterolab, so I would believe their interpretation.
  18. There was a gluten-free Rice Krispies that was discontinued, at least in the USA:
  19. This is a follow up to an article we originally ran back in March, 2022, and we typically run follow up articles on similar stories when there is new news. We're also open to any story about Carol Kicinski's diet while she's serving her sentence, as we also believe this would be relevant to the celiac community.
  20. Understood, and many people may have other food intolerance or dietary issues like a low sodium diet that may make these new offerings still off limits, but I think it is important to keep in mind that their goal here was to make them 1) gluten-free; and 2) not change the taste, texture, or appearance when compared to the original versions. The original versions...
  21. Actually, to me it looks like two tests were done for celiac disease: Endomysial Antibodies IgA - Negative Tissue Transglutaminase IgA - Result <2 ??? (I believe the result is the first column, although it isn't clearly indicated here. If this is correct the result is negative). Since you don't have IgA deficiency, the 3rd result, then...
  22. I say better late than never, and the more gluten-free products the merrier! I welcome any product like this which has vast distribution channels worldwide. I've been in small towns in Mexico, Europe, and even Asia, but still saw Campbell's soups on store market shelves. While it's fine to prefer other brands and products over these, I'm not sure why there...
  23. I agree with @trents and this article may be helpful:
  24. Correction, that recipe I posted includes: 2 tablespoons (30 ml) granulated sugar (* omit granulated sugar if using maple syrup in place of molasses) But it does let you use molasses or maple syrup...you may be able to use a sugar substitute, not sure after @RMJ's post about yeast.
