  1. When the FDA decided on the 20 ppm limit for gluten-free foods, they said something like this level is safe for the vast majority of celiacs. Some of us are not in that vast majority. There was a study published recently on celiacs who continued to have symptoms and some were relieved by eliminating these types of foods. Open Original Shared Link Many...
  2. Apparently the CSA actually did not say that Omission beer was risk free, but just that it passed their certification: Open Original Shared Link "First of all, CSA executive director Mary Schluckebier apologizes for the headline calling Omission "risk-free," -- she says CSA never intended to quantify Omission as "risk-free," and in fact doesn't consider...
  3. That is possible, but it could be the trace contamination that the Fasano diet is supposed to eliminate. It eliminates it by having you eat whole grain rice. Did you grind that rice flour yourself, or did you buy it already ground? Was it ground in a gluten and oat free facility? In that case it is not the Fasano diet and does not reduce possibilities...
  4. Hey, the product in my link is slightly different than the one in yours. I'm innocent of double doubt posting links.
  5. Yes, I had a glove one but it didn't hold up well. Now I just have square ones that you fold over the dish. You can rinse them off in the sink. They have them at all the regular places like my grocery store, Target, and Walmart. I'm not sure if any of those names are going to come up as spam sources. Here's some links that might work. This one looks...
  6. Cycling Lady, I am so sorry that you are having a reaction to figure out. I don't know if this is the case for you, but for me, my mind stops working well when I am having a reaction and that makes a difficult challenge much more challenging. I hope my little summary with bolds added of your own words might help. It looks like the first thing to try...
  7. You can get that rubber kind and then it can be washed between uses if you like.
  8. Heck, I have to admit not reading the thread carefully enough to see that. Can I blame a recent glutening?
  9. I have found that sensitivity levels vary widely, even among people who call themselves super sensitive. It may be in part from unidentified other intolerances. It is probably in part from misidentification of the source of the glutening. I am good with Organic Valley 100% grassfed milk, Wegmans organic single source coffee, Wegmans sparkling water, and...
  10. This talks about how much gluten is in a bread crumb as well as how much gluten can make you sick. Open Original Shared Link
  11. That bovine colostrum guy did a really good job of sounding scientific. Thanks for researching that Jebby. I wonder how much they charge for that stuff? Today someone said that sprouts contain oxygen and when you eat them you instantly put oxygen into your blood so that you can supply your brain with oxygen. O'Bryan just buys all that crap. It...
  12. I think I did. That was a few years ago.
  13. He sounds like a great guy. I'm glad that you got the shared kitchen to work for you. Glad you are doing better too.
  14. I had a terrible time with feelings like this when I was first diagnosed and continued to have problems. It can be very scary. It will get better.
  15. I did have problems with that brand. I tried many brands and couldn't find one that was consistently good. I did best with Navitas Cocao nibs. I seem to be sensitive to low levels of cc.
  16. I feel for all the medical practitioners who will be dealing with people bringing them information that they got from this summit. There is far too much talk about studies without actually giving the references. Some of these, I believe, are ones that I have heard debunked elsewhere. That's a problem with medical information and the internet in general...
  17. We couldn't do a shared kitchen. Is it because I am so sensitive? Is it because they are too slobby? Who knows. We tried for a year with various protocols etc. and just couldn't get it to work. That was a good review but might not work for all of us. It is worth a good effort before asking others to change their diet for you. Those are good thoughts...
  18. Some need to be more careful than others to get their antibodies down. There are a lot of case studies published about this. Recently one was mentioned here about someone who was reacting to gluten in the plastic of their retainer. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/104736-could-your-retainer-be-preventing-healing-yes/ Some need to go on a more strict...
  19. I did not say that. I was suggesting possible reasons for Marsh saying that. He could say it if he has done negative follow up biopsies of beer drinkers. That would have been a great question for the interviewer. That said, I agree with some of the other speakers that lack of gut damage doesn't necessarily mean lack of damage.
  20. I am also one of the more sensitive ones and I agree with your concerns. It is difficult to make the less sensitive not obsess over unimportant things while at the same time letting the more sensitive know where their reactions might be coming from. I spent the first couple of years figuring out all these things.
  21. I do worry about that when I get glutened. It seems like the only way to check is to get a biopsy which seems pretty invasive. Then my glutening gets better and I can stop worrying. Phew!
  22. I agree that it is an interesting mix of solidly scientific experts and probable quacks. It can be hard to tell the difference. This is what happens these days when we get "medical" information direct to consumer rather than disseminated through our doctors. It comes to us much more quickly, but we have to figure out what is legitimate. My thinking...
  23. In a way it is good that you have that rash because you had demonstrable evidence for a reaction. What if it just made you feel like crap like happens with so many of us? Do you think that you can get your area really well flushed out with fans and open windows or something like that? It's not the best time of year for that, but maybe they will work with...
  24. Glad you figured it out. I am also sensitive to oats.
